Really cute place with a good variety of bowls and smoothies. The people working behind the counter are super friendly and helpful, especially with allergies. All of their granola is nut-free which is a huge plus to me, and it's delicious! Try the PBJ bowl, it has açaí mixed with peanut butter in it. The food here is absolutely delicious. It's always fresh and super healthy. The staff is super friendly and the decor is really cool. In my opinion happy bowls is a "must visit" when out in montauk because it's a very unique concept and you can get a delicious snack without feeling guilty! This review is regarding ingredients. Their mixers are NOT healthy. Coconut "juice" out of a can which has sugar in it. Almond "milk" which is out of a box also has sugar in it. Maybe I'm a snob because I live in LA but we mix with homemade almond milk, made with almonds, dates, water, and vanilla bean. Our coconut liquid is water, fresh from the coconut without an added sugar. This is how it should be done. Add on top of that they were out of their hemp seeds and bee pollen, and I made a bee-line for the door. Don't pretend to be healthy and use canned/boxed foods/mixers. I echo the other reviews that it's too little food for the price. It's about $10 for one bowl and they should think about giving people more. Especially now that there is another acai place close by. Really hot inside. Barely any A/C. They seem to make things as they are ordered so always a long wait time. Would like to know more about the ingredients, organic, sourcing etc. but the toppings look and taste fresh for the acai bowls. Idk about the poke bowls. They were shut down for a few days this summer out of no where. Said they ran out of acai but I'm wondering if it was a health dept thing? I came here a few times with my family over Father's Day weekend. Just what I wanted being a vegetarian and carb conscious. I ordered a PBJ bowl and a under 500 calorie bowl. Both delicious and kept me full for hours. When my family and I decided to come back over Labor Day weekend, this was the first place I thought of. We went on Saturday before the fair. I ordered a PBJ bowl with unsweetened soy milk (which I've order previous times and the only reason why I ask for unsweetened soy milk is Bc I have a very sensitive stomach and I have to try to limit the amount of sugar.) The girl at the counter was very sweet and accommodated the request. We talked a bit to kill time, there was maybe one other couple in the store. So we didn't have to wait long for the bowl. My boyfriend and I came back on Sunday after a 12mile bike ride and it was packed. I knew I was going to have to wait. I didn't care Bc I was craving it. So while I was waiting on line I reread the menu a few times to make sure I knew what I wanted when I got to the counter. I wanted the same thing as I ordered the previous day, PBJ with unsweetened soy milk but I now wanted to try it with unsweetened acai since I saw they offer it with a different bowl. Who I think was the owner called me up and took my order. I said can I have PBJ with unsweetened soy milk and she immediately cut me off and said "what is on the menu is what we have" ok...the way she said it was rude. I was sort of confused by the remark since she made it seem like I was asking for eggs. I asked "so you don't have unsweetened soy milk?" She repeated what is on the menu is what we have we cannot change anything. I mentioned that yesterday you said you did have unsweetened soy and she rudely says ok then that's what you're getting. She did not write down or ask the guys in the back for unsweetened soy. Don't play me like I'm an idiot. I knew I wasn't getting what I ordered. I waited for about 20min. I recommend not coming here when it's busy bc they can't handle the pressure. read more

Overpriced for the size bowl you get. $2.00 for every extra topping you get not to mention they don't accept credit cards. The fruit was not very fresh. The açaí bowl was very watery. I do want to let you know my Montauk acai bowl was really good, but I would tell people to avoid this place based on my experience. They have such a variety of toppings, and you can either order from their menu (preassigned flavors and toppings), or you can pick and choose what you want. Horrendous customer service and dirty. I was first lured into this establishment with the promise of Poke largely advertised on the exterior. When ordering at the counter, my friends and I were advised that the kitchen was making another batch of Poke - if we wanted to wait 45 minutes, which we did not. Happy Bowls also serves acai bowls. My friend was not familiar with acai. When he asked for more information about the food, the server rudely slammed down a plastic sign "describing" the fruit. The server was completely unwilling to describe the menu, discuss the popular items, or explain how the ordering style worked. As first time customers and acai novices, we felt completely alienated and offended by how rudely and rushed we were being treated. While this was happening, a daughter of the shop owner waltzes in barefoot and goes behind the counter to make herself a bowl, without bothering to wash her hands or tie back her long, beachy hair. I found this completely unsanitary and unprofessional, especially since there were at least 6 others in line waiting to place an order. In fact, the servers never bothered to put on gloves or wash their hands while simultaneously handling cash payments and scooping toppings. Very unorganized and gross. I will certainly not return, and I will certainly never advise anyone to go - as long as this management is in place. read more

so overpriced and the worst acai ive ever had. i work at an acai place in suffolk county and our acai is sooo much better and cheaper!! they give barely any granola and only on top with unblended acai where i have to bite down hard in order to chew the acai. it is 9.50 to build your own bowl without toppings and my total came out to $20 because i got 4 topping and coconut and honey (which is complimentary from most places). overall horrible experience and the workers weren't welcoming at all!! never going back, so not worth my money or your money!! read more
