Happily surprised. My normal Chinese place to go to in Lexington is closed on Tuesday so decided to follow the advice of other Yelpers and check this place out. I conveniently ordered online and loved how the service emailed me that my order was ready for pick up, right in time. Once I got home we started to dive in. So good!! The pork fried rice had great flavors and an ample amount of pork. My husband loved the egg rolls and Mongolian beef. I had the crab Rangoon, liked I could get a small order of 4 count. Wish the crab Rangoon had more crab then cream cheese, it was good but not a lot of protein in there. Loved the beef lo mein. I highly recommend this place. Added bonus was the free sweet rolls, reminded me of my Oma's homemade sugar rolls that we ate during Lent. Thanks for the great service and food. read more

Awesome people and they always make great food with low amounts of excess oil and proper amounts of sauce and heat. We have ordered several things off the menu and often we ask for more spice or for dietary reasons to hold some ingredients. They're always on point! I have other places closer to home but Happy Chinese makes a happy family and their clean cooking makes a happy tummy. read more

To date, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Lexington. It's inexpensive, the delivery is always faster than expected, the food is good, and they always give you something extra. Usually it's something for dessert, but I recently also got a Chinese wall calendar. I like that they're not at all stingy with the shrimp for their shrimp fried rice (my go-to), and everything is well-seasoned. Definitely recommend this place for quick and delicious delivery. read more

FINALLY! A good Chinese takeout place while away from home. The food was a great temperature when it arrived. Wonton soup had a great broth and 5 wontons in a pint, complete with crunchy noodles. Chicken and broccoli was great; egg roll crunchy and not soggy. BIGGEST CRAB RANGOONS I've ever had. General Tso's chicken was good, but still not as good as home. I was looking for an alternative to ordering delivery on DoorDash so I decided to try somewhere that delivered on their own. It was very fast and the driver was very nice, plus ordering over the phone was easy. I got chicken and broccoli, it was actually good. I did not finish it all so I ended up eating the rest the next day. It actually tasted better the next day haha. I also got egg drop soup, which was very tasty. I got steamed dumplings as well. This were it kinda went left. The dough of the dumplings was entirely too thick. I also was not a fan of the filling, it had no real taste. The dipping sauce was a little off as well. Every was very good beside the dumplings part. They even threw in a free sample size of orange chicken. read more

Food: the food was AMAZING! Ordered the veggie fried rice, veggie chow mein noodles and Kung Pao chicken (definitely ask for them to make it spicy and they are such kind people, they will). They were even kind enough to pack not just fortune cookies but they also packed free donuts!!! Such a treat! Service: the guy who took my order was super kind and super nice. Best customer service I have ever received. Coming from San Diego and this being my first stop in Kentucky, the staff were awesome people. And they made my food fresh! Second time ordering from this place and they are really just on point. Delivery is quick (I'm off Richmond rd), price is good, food is always bangin--and they always throw in a freebie (ummmm sugar donuts....) Highly recommend to any Chinese food lover. Not sure why they have such good reviews. The neighborhood was super sketchy and there were several sort of vagrant looking people just hanging out in the dining room. Lo mein was good but crab rangoons were not. Friendly service though. I wish I'd gone somewhere else that was nicer. read more

That was the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The flavors were amazing. I ordered several different dishes. The bean curd with mixed vegetables in black bean sauce was delicious, the crab Rangoon were huge, looked homemade and was also delicious (with extra veggies). Delivery was fast. Everything was hot! I just ordered the dinner portion of the general tso chicken with chicken fried rice and a couple orders of crab rangoon. I used the app and it came to my door in something like 35-45 min. Everything was immediately fresh and hot. All of the goodies were present with plenty of extras as well. All of the chicken pieces were large and juicy with a great sauce and the add ons were exactly what I was hoping for. I'm a super heavy bodybuilder, and the portions were large to me, definitely satiated with just the chicken and rice. I should have weighed the bag because it was impressive. I thought it was going to be a hole-in-the-wall good find, but the food was bland and the fact that you had every person hanging out in front of the tobacco store next door.. opening the door.. walking up to the counter.."i ain't gone pay dat"... walking back out.. then rethinking it... come back in to pay dat. This is the place I use to get all my Asian take out. They have very fast and friendly service. They are really cheap and have great food. That is a win win. If you do chose to eat here, during lunch hours, they offer a limited buffet. I haven't actually eaten the buffet here, but they usually have many people purchasing it when I get my take out. I love their Crab Ragoon and their Orange Chicken. Their Mien Fun is good as well. I am a creature of habit, so I don't stray from the things I like. The egg rolls and spring rolls are also nice to snack on here. read more

We ate inside the restaurant today for our first try. Wife's General Tso Chicken was tasty and plentiful. My Kung Pao Shrimp was fresh, tasty, and plentiful, but the shrimp were small. Heavy on the celery, as I removed a full cup full to another plate. The egg rolls were tasty, but the roll crust was too thick. The interior was dirty, with surfaces (floors, counters, glass partitions, windows, etc.) that obviously needed cleaning. The window shades and wall hangings were very tattered. Makes you wonder about the kitchen. May be great for home delivery, but I would not return. read more

Very good take out. For the Hamburg area there are not a lot to choose from so we tried this sight unseen. Delivery was very quick and the food was hot and packaged nicely. The sweet rolls that they added in for no extra charge on our large order were amazing. Better than anything I've had in a while. Like miniature doughnut holes with sugar, but way better. This place is ok. Not the best but not the worst. It's clean cheep and ok food. A lot of the food is hard and over cooked but for 12 bucks and two people it's not bad. The One Thing I was suprised about was there crab Ragoon. it's amazing. Please be aware this review is based off there buffet only. I will come back and try there full menu soon. Considering they have a $6.99 all you can eat buffet, I think they're doing pretty well. They have about 8-10 items that vary to my understanding from day to day. That may not seem a lot but for what they do they do it well. Did I mention it includes a drink? When I went yesterday with a work colleague they had crab Rangoon's, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, lo mein and a few other options. First time ordering Chinese since I moved to Lexington (from outside Philly) overall food was very good (wonton soup, sesame chicken with fried rice and egg roll). If there is any "complaint" it was that the General Tso's chicken had no spice to it despite having ordered medium...prob easily solved by ordering extra spicy next time...and the donuts thrown in for free were a nice surprise. read more

It wasn't bad, but it was blah. No taste. And no, I don't mean that wasn't spicy, I don't like spicy. But I do like flavor! Combo plate was supposed to come with crab rangoon, but I got some crispy won ton strips instead. No sweet and sour dipping sauce. Lo Mein was tasteless, too, and very greasy. I haven't been to the location, so I can't comment. I think I'm just too far from San Francisco to get good Chinese. Prices are good. read more

There's not a lot of places that I'd go out of my way to review, but this restaurant is severely under appreciated! This place is a true hole in the wall lol. It's a tiny place located next to Save-A-Lot in the Eastland shopping center. I will always order their general tso's extra spicy and they actually do it! Every other place in town hasn't managed to do make it spicy like this place can. Of course it's your average Americanized restaurant but at least they can spice it up! read more
