I don't leave negative reviews, but after being a customer here for a few years, I feel I needed to share my experience. I've used this business for dry cleaning and recently for alterations. Over time, I noticed a significant increase in pricing, especially for alterations and repair work. I understand that costs rise, but many of the same services can be found elsewhere for less. I continued coming here because they're around the corner from me, super convenient location and I wanted to support a local business that I had gone to for years. What was disappointing, was the way my concerns were handled. When I questioned the pricing on alterations, Sharon at the front counter told me that they have "thousands of happy customers" and don't need my business. I Was genuinely taken back by the disrespect. After years of supporting this business, I found that response arrogant, rude, and disrespectful. A long-time customer should never be made to feel that their business doesn't matter. If the pricing no longer worked for me, a professional response would have been to explain the costs and allow me to make my own decision. Instead, I was essentially told they didn't need my business. I hoped to continue supporting this business, but after this experience, I'll be taking my dry cleaning and alteration needs elsewhere! read more

Today I went to pick up my cleaning and gave him my number, he tells me, "Not yet". I said, what do you mean not yet. He keeps entering my number and gets loud, "Nothing". Long story short, he puts my order in with my phone number area code 951. Proceeds to blame me ‍ I know my number and area code and I told him, "no, you types it, not me" I should have not come here with the way I felt in the pit of my stomach the day I went in. Not only are they absolute wonderful kind individuals and I love chatting with them when I get a chance but they do an amazing job at a reasonable price. Something I appreciate as well as a uniform professional who needs my work clothes dry cleaned I do not get up charged for female shirts/pants which I have seen at countless other spots in the past. Okay first I want to say that the work was okay and this is more of a principle thing with me. With that being said I came in drop my T-shirt off on Monday and was told that I can pick it up on sat for one t-shirt I was like wait why , she said worker had graduations to attend on wed, and thurs. So I said that's cool I get my claim ticket there's no price red flag tells me that's how it is okay. 5 days go by I come to pick up my T-shirt and a guy first couldn't find my shirt he finally did and said $4 dollars I look like wait I only got 1 item not 2 I'm sorry. Lol I have not been to this cleaners before I'm thinking they made a small mistake no it's 4 dollars for a t-shirt I paid an walked out,I'm sorry if I sound cheap but $4 to me is a lot to dry clean one t-shirt that's just me if your paid and don't mind have at it the shirt looks nice tho ‍ read more

This is a review for my experience there back in January. (Drove past there today and remembered how horrible they are and realized I never wrote a review.) So first off - the lady that I assume is an owner there, lies. I dropped off a penny coat (P-coat, w/e), 2 sheets, and a comforter. I asked about the price for each individual price. The comforter would be $15, both sheets & coat each $10. $35? Not bad at all! I was expecting more for the sheets as I explained that my dog had an accident on them. I then ask about how long it would take. She said about 5-7 days. Again, not bad at all seeing as the holidays just finished and everyone is getting things dry cleaned. Plus it wasn't a rush/next day place. 5 days later I drop by after work and check to see if anything is ready for pick up at all. None. Say ok as she estimated 5-7 days and go home. I come back 3 days (3 DAYS! Over a week!) and am prepared to pick everything up. She comes from the back, sees me, and immediately her face changes to an "uh oh" face. I ask for my things. She says that due to the weather, it's going to take an extra few days. What? They don't dry things outside as it's in a strip mall type of place. The whole week it's been rainy. She could've mentioned this when I first dropped them off! Not to mention that the next few days it dropped to the mid 40's at night! That's COLD for California, and so was I! My coat & comforter were stuck there! Comforters are expensive and it's not like I had a "backup." Not to mention that it turned out to be the coldest week of the season. Hoorah. Needless to say, even with 4 blankets toppled on top of me, I was freezing this next week to come. 2 weeks after my initial drop off date, they were finally ready. Double the amount of time she said. I'm ready to pay. My total? $65!!!!! ALSO DOUBLE THE PRICE!!!!! I explain to her that is not AT ALL the price she first explained and that she knows that for a fact. I also explain that it took double the time she said. No discount. No apology. I will NEVER be returning here. read more

I have been coming here for dry cleaning and alterations for over 5 years. Not on a regular bases, but when I have special events (e.g. weddings, interviews, graduation, etc...) I go to them. The owner is very nice and will tell you honestly whether or not alterations are worth it. I took a jacket to her once that I got for $40+, but fixing the zipper would've cost almost just as much as mine would've required a complete replacement. She explained it to me and I chalked it up as a loss. Still have the jacket, but just wear it like a cardigan. I went out of state for a few years for school, came back to find out (today) that someone had run their car through their store crashing into her and her puppy! She had amnesia for a bit after the accident and the poor puppy is still suffering PTSD. They are still fighting for the driver's insurance to pay for the damage, but it doesn't look promising as it has already been over a year. Please support this local Lakewood business as they lost 2/3 of their customer volume during the reparations. The quality in their work is there and you will not be disappointed. read more

My bf had one jacket cleaned. took it in Monday, they said it would be done Friday.... Well he worked Friday around noon and had the baby so he went in before to get the jacket figuring it would be done, after 5 days. he wanted it to wear to work. The lady was rude and started linting the jacket saying that next time he needs to wait for the call and not just walk in. Now mind you, if this was said nicely it probably wouldn't have been a big deal. Any other place would have just been like oh sure let me get it for you after 5 days for one jacket, understanding he needs it. Not happy with the customer service here. I started going to this place a while ago as I recently moved to a new place so had to find some new cleaner. The lady at the business is always very welcoming and is always smiling as you enter the door. The service is good but I believe they take a little day or two extra in getting the clothes back so if they can speed up that process it will be really good. Overall I'm happy with the owner and the service as this place is just like few minutes away from my house. read more

Like the last reviewer, I have shopped around for dry cleaners. There are some really bad ones out there (like the one on South and Palo Verde). I am back to stay at Happy Cleaners. My family has been coming here for over 15 years. They have always been our go to cleaners for steam cleaning and sewing. Especially since they are right down the street from us. I took in a sleeveless shirt the other day that I payed a lot of money for and had a lot of meaning to me and needed the area around the shoulders brought in a little bit. They measured me up but I was worried it would be a little to much taken off. They assured me it would look great and they were right. I wouldn't ended up having to take it back twice if they would've went with my measurement. I will continue to come here for as long as they are here. read more
