I genuinely thought it was impossible to ruin a hotdog, but what I got after a 15 min wait is what you see on my photo. The bun was completely wet and falling apart, the hot dog itself was very small. I had to walk up to the kitchen and ask them for just a fresh bun so I could eat my hotdog. I also paid almost $9 for it:( With that being said, the vibe is fun, good for a tourist attraction, no shade to the workers. Toast the buns :)

This beef sandwich is an abomination and an insult. The Chicago dog, was lackluster. If it was a Vienna Beef dog and I can't be sure, it was a lower grade one. The cost for the Chicago dog was $9. Also far too much for a single hotdog. Even if the overheard requires that kind of mark up, I just can't support the place. Hope the owner is sending secret shoppers in to order at the same pace when they aren't there. Because the QC is not there. Another spot to not go to. August 26, 2026…read more Haven't stopped through Pink's in a while and chose to do so because the girl I'm seeing hasn't had their chili dogs... I know, sacrilege. We each get the classic chili dog, hers without onions because she's tragic, and a sour kraut dog with mustard (and again no onions because we are going to share it... huge sigh). The chili is as good as I remember it being... that mealy toothpaste texture with a slick rivulet of oil forming atop it, it just coats your mouth after you snap-bite through that warm soft bun and through the Hoffy dog consisting of Pink's proprietary blend of meats-- too good. It's a signature flavor from my past that I just love to this day. The kraut dog is great too but needs onions. Not to be forgotten in this review, we enjoyed a side order of onion rings. Surprisingly well cooked, they are crunchy and not oily at all; they were quite good. Could've used some salt in hindsight, but still quite good. The family that owns and runs Pink's have this down to a well oiled machine and the folks behind the counter who run the show in the daily? Couldn't be cooler. Efficiently run, food coming to you quickly, a clean and enjoyable set of tables and umbrellas out back to sit under and enjoy the breeze while you people-watch and chow down... what more could you ask for out of a hot dog stand?

You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

So I'm traumatized with how food is served to me, like in a "were the dishes washed" aspect. This accident happened luckily in front of our server. He changed/cleaned my toast plate then gave me back my toast. We all had coffee. Coffee service was above and beyond and always topped off. Food was very nice and exactly as requested. This place is very expensive. You might think, it's comparable! I say it is not. I believe it's slightly above, where adding a side of meat, was 5.49 (which I refused to do) and for the money people are spending there, they should be "spotless clean". That's my take and my rating averages 3 stars, with the clean being a one star. They can do better with all the worker bodies moving around. This appears to be pure laziness.

The hot dogs are amazing, the price can't be beat and what the hey, why not give it a try. It's just a few blocks from Central Park and a short subway ride from Times Square and easy to get to. It seemed to be very popular with locals as well as a few curious tourists like us.We'd heard about this place, and seen it in the movies and thought we'd check it out. The price, for 2 dogs and a drink ($5) is a bargain, especially for the quality of the food and the experience. Remember though, this is a small hot dog shop with no tables, just stand up counters for about 10 people max. The trick is get in, order, eat & get out, take a picture and move on. read more

Do not let the facade fool you! Sylvia of Happy Dog dishes up the best lunchtime food in the Valley, all with her charming smile. Absolutely the freshest fruit bowl containing an ever changing variety of fruits to be found anywhere. Even if you do not want it for lunch, it is perfect to keep on your desk as snack food - and healthier than the usual snacks. Nothing special but they offer everything from breakfast to sandwiches to burgers and Mexican food. Breakfast is also served all day (except for waffles much to my kids' disappointment isn't served during dinner hours). My kids tried the cheeseburger and loved it. My youngest devoured his hot dog and I really enjoyed my Ruben sandwich (though I wish I could've had it on rye bread). Honestly, my only real complaint about the food was that the fries were somewhat bland and everything felt about a dollar or two too much. Though, I will admit that is just the state of restaurants these days. I am no knocking them for that, just pointing out that this isn't really going to be a cheap meal. A tasty & filling one for sure, but not cheap. In all, you can tell why Beeps has been around for decades. It knows what it is and does it well. This is a place that can become a family staple restaurant. And with their huge menu, it would take a long time to get through everything which I love.
