This is a little hole-in-the-wall, smaller on the inside than Fresh Taco (do not be confused by the name, they are not the same) on the next block over. Despite this, Happy Fresh Taco truly seems happier as they are much better populated and have a friendlier atmosphere. The food is great, in large portions, and very cheap, especially suited for a quick fix when you don't want to cook. It's also a lot less greasy than you'd expect from tex-mex and (living up to it's name) made with happily fresh ingredients. The tomatoes they use are also nice and sweet, without the frostbite you inevitably taste if they're frozen. I've only been to one place that was better than here while keeping in mind the price, and that one is all the way in Park Slope (Incidentally it's called New Happy Taco). Did I mention the food is cheap? Soft shell tortillas range in price from the 89 cent black or pinto bean ones to the most expensive being a shrimp fajita at $2.39. Tacos start at 99 cents, nachos (and they give you a LOT of these in one portion) at $2.19 and dinner size burritos at $2.89. The selection is huge and includes non-mex food as well, healthy food options and the menu indicates the vegetarian options also. Their homemade ice tea is second only to New Happy Taco. My usual is the jack cheese and guacamole quesadilla at $2.59 with a nice large ice-tea at $1.25 . Most take-out/eat-out places around this neighborhood are cheap, and usually cheap means mediocre food at best, but this spot is actually worth a shot when you don't want to cook. But the guac was terrifying and the veggie burrito, while tasty and huge, left me with a piteous stomachache and a small amount of heartburn. Happy Fresh Taco makes me happy. More specifically, their HUGE, delicious chicken burrito makes me happy. For $5 you get something that tastes great and is enough for two meals! For burrito aficionados, let it be known that their burritos are more folded than rolled, but that makes it easier to unfold them to put in the lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guac that comes on the side, and doesn't interfere with the taste on bit. I ordered tacos... the meat was too salty and ingredients aren't the best. You can taste it when you have your first bite... tastes STALE af. My go to taco place! Cheap, good, and the delivery is SUPER FAST! My favorite is the jack cheese quesadilla or the nachos. One time they forgot a quesadilla from my order and before I even got a chance to call them, they called me right away to inform me they forgot it and will be delivering right away! The wait is a little long considering it is more on the "fast food" side but the wait is worth it and its not that bad. The tortillas are made fresh. I don't know how this place is getting any good reviews, I assume because of the low prices. We literally just threw away our order because the food tasted like confused Chinese food - it even came in Chinese food packaging! This place was good cheap food a couple of years ago. I will never order from then again- they've gone so far down it's not worth your time or money. Ordered Pinto bean tacos, which used to come with cheese, sour cream, lettuce, you know, like a taco. Last time I ordered, it came with just bean paste on a tortilla. So I order from this place at my cousins house!! This time I ordered the food to come to my house!! I always order from Grubhub or Uber eats!! N my son always goes down stairs to pick it up!! N I always add my tip on the app!! This time I called the order n so I didn't add a tip because I paid with my card over the phone n my son went downstairs to pick up the food!! I just ordered from here for the first time like 20 minutes ago, and i have to say i doubt i'd be ordering from here again. The food was okay, I ordered a lemonade and it tasted like water to be honest and the tacos were just okay no flavor really. cheap prices which is cool i guess. what bothered me the most was the delivery man. my total was 21.17$ i ordered using grubhub and i click the 10% tip which was like 3 dollars and some change, my total was 24.35$ with the tip included. when the delivery guy came to my door i handed him 25$ and said thank you, he put his foot on my door to keep it from closing and told me he didn't want a 60 cent tip. i was very confused because i tipped 10% maybe he didn't see what the receipt said but he yelled and said he didn't want a 60 cent tip. i went back inside confused lol read more

This used to be my favorite place to order from. My regular was # 37. Fajita with Jumbo Shrimp. Me and my family been regular customers for 4 years. So tonight me and my boyfriend ordered our regular orders, at the bottom of my salad I notice I was biting something that was scrapping my gums (which still hurts 45mins later) .. So I take it out my mouth it was a thick freaking FINGER NAIL! Yes a finger nail!!!!!!!!! so I looked closer at it and it was still shaped like a fingernail I tore it Just to make sure and I was right. I ordered here because this is my stoner friends' latest obsession that they've been talking about recently, and because I had eight bucks and change to order food and I was hungry. I'm always leery about ordering from Chinese-Mexican restaurants - it usually tastes like pork fried rice in your burrito. I ordered the Jack Cheese and mixed veggie quesadilla and the chicken burrito. My total with delivery and tip came to $8.60. The mixed veggie quesadilla was oddly good, although they were clearly Chinese veggies (shredded carrots, broccoli, celery) mixed with Jack Cheese - it was an interesting combination to say the least. It was also quite large. The burrito was so large that I couldn't finish half of it. It was pretty good - I would just like them to put the sour cream inside the burrito rather than outside. It was no Chipotle, but it was a fairly satisfying $8 meal. I don't know if I would have ordered it if I hadn't had those five Coronas, but it was okay. Ridgewood really needs some real Mexican places around here besides Fajita Sunrise. read more

i been eating here since the place move in and that a long long long time, i always enjoyed there food, there pricing is a bit awkward you have to estimate it before you order cause for some reason there estimate seem to be off from the menu so always be cautious, there food is excellent but there delivery is not, you could end up waiting up anywhere from 30 to 2hrs for delivery, in my case i waited an hr almost all the time and as i mention the price is never the same as you order, they make great burritos and fajitas then fresh tacos this is there strong point there taco wraps are not thick and bread like as to how fresh taco makes them, there burritos are done with a 12 inch wraps then as with fresh taco they give you a 6 inch thick bread like wrap that they call a 12 inch. i tried almost every thing they have and so far no complaints on the food, just mostly on final estimate pricing and delivery is why i give this only 4 stars. try there grilled steak and fries and stay away from cheese nacho those are not so great. read more
