Open late and tasty! This place is a win in my book. The servers were efficient though not the friendliest- I chalk that up to the language barrier but that did not detract from the overall experience and meal. The restaurant has a lot of casino decor and was very festive- I love the mahjong tables. Their chow fun was superb and really hit the spot- I am sure I will be back to try their congees and other items when I am in the area as they have an enormous menu!

If you know, you know... Hong Kong café vibes hit different HK Macau Bistro II brings that classic cha chaan teng experience, fast service, bold flavors, and a menu full of comfort favorites. It can get busy (for a reason ), but totally worth it. I ordered: Beef stew with flat shrimp-roe noodles Steamed rice noodles with BBQ pork And of course... had to try a little bit of everything from the table Flavor-packed, satisfying, and perfect for sharing.

Nostalgia in a cup is how I can describe HKMT! I'm always looking for a good Hong Kong cafe spot and the service here was too notch! Terry was super friendly and accommodating. Some stand outs were the spare rib pot rice (super flavorful and the rice had a good crisp), the beef chow fun (great wok hai), and the black pepper chicken steak. Of course, must get the hkmt which comes with a free refill!

I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner, whenever I crave Cantonese food, this is the spot. Their stir fry's remind me of dishes you get at the stalls back in the day on Hong Kong streets. They have good breakfast specials that provide a congee, noodle or noodle like side, and also a pineapple bun. My favorite things to get here would be the stir fry's dishes and if I'm really hungry perhaps the pork chop and chicken steak combos with rice. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant, the waiters and servers are quick but it won't be the best service. Usually it's pretty busy in the mornings and nights so go early to avoid a wait.

We decided to have a family dinner at HK Macao Bistro II. It was our first time here - or so I thought - until I found out my mom is actually a regular. That alone says a lot. The decor is very mahjong-forward, which I loved. Every table is decorated with mahjong tiles, and ours had pink Hello Kitty mahjong tiles. Super cute and such a playful touch. As for the food, we ordered quite a spread: * Squid in black bean sauce - really good * A variety of steamed rice noodles - excellent * Beef chow fun - excellent, nicely wok-fried * Mixed mushrooms with pork jowl - just okay * Salt & pepper pork - also okay Everything came out hot and fast. I believe we may have even scored a complimentary lobster dish after hitting a certain spending amount. It's always nice getting together with family over a tasty meal, and this spot made for a fun, lively dinner. I can see why my mom keeps coming back.

I'm a fan of the other location, so I'm glad that another one has opened a bit closer to me. My family and I went on a Thursday afternoon during lunch and the restaurant was PACKED but we were seated immediately in a back booth. It's busy, but luckily it's a larger restaurant with lots of seating and tables, but I can only imagine that it's even busier with a wait during other times. LOVE the decor here. Everything is so themed to HK. The street signs, double decker bus, mahjong tiles in the table (different themes to this, we were seated at a Snoopy and Crayon Shin-chan themed ones), the cityscape on the wallpaper, and much more. Menu is MASSIVE. There's breakfast foods, soups, noodles, rice dishes, rice noodle dishes, western style dishes and much much more. Very easy to share food family style so you can try a little bit of everything. Apparently, when we went if you spend over $100 you get a plate of lobster for free! It was a smaller lobster, but it was a nice surprise! Meat was tender and juicy. A little bit salty, but it's something to eat with rice, so this is perfect. For our lunch, we got the: 1) HK Milk Tea (hot): -Comes in a cute thicker tea cup with the condensed milk cow logo on it. Perfect for photos. They give you a side of condensed milk to sweeten it to taste. It comes out SUPER strong and tea tasting, so I did have to use a bit of condensed milk, but it became the yummy classic tasting HK milk tea after. 2) HK Style Coffee: -It's a bit sweet if you're more into stronger coffees, but it's a nice sweet treat and pick me up. Dad had his to go and my brother downed his in one go. 3) Honey Lemon: -This confused my mom a bit since it comes with 2 different hot cups. One is more tea based and you can mix it in or dilute it with something, the other is just actually hot water with honey and lemon in it. They also give you a side of honey if you need to sweeten it more too. Easy to drink if you need something warm and good for your throat. 4) Malacca Seafood Fried Vermicelli: -HUGE amount of food for this. My parents were baffled. Lots of squid, shrimp, and fish. Truly a seafood dish. -Has a slight spice taste to it (not spicy) and there's beansprouts mixed in. Despite everything, this was a leftover we didn't get sick of each time we had to reheat and eat it. 5) Tomato Egg and Beef Macaroni: -I know this is like a dish for a child to eat, but it's one of my favorite and go to's every time I see it on the menu. -Lots of macaronis and the sauce is tangy and sweet from the tomato. Some little bits of tomato and egg in it and a good amount of beef. -Delicious! 6) French Toast: -I got this plain. Huge part of a brick toast. Nice and crispy edges and comes with a pat of butter on top and a side of syrup to add it to your liking. I drowned mine in syrup to make up for the bready parts on the inside. -it's not as sweet as western French toast, so I liked that a lot. Really something I'd order if I was craving it. 7) Beef Chow Fun: -This was so good that my dad was the only person who finished his meal out of the entire family. -Love the chewy texture of the noodles and my dad agreed too. Said it reminded him of the Cantonese noodles he'd have back in Vietnam. -Noodles were nicely sauced and not too salty and comes with a good amount of beef and some veggies mixed in too. 8) Rice Noodle Sheets with Shrimp: -I don't remember the exact name for this but it's those rice noodle sheets (think a bit like banh cuon) but slathered in the sweetened brown sauce (reminds me of hoison sauce) and has some egg and shrimp on top. It's a nice easy to eat snack food. My dad didn't like it, but everyone else at the table found it yummy and inoffensive. 9) Hainan Chicken Rice: -This was the first dish to come out and the chicken is cold. I haven't had it that way before and my brother didn't expect it, so he saved it so he can take home and reheat. The rice is cooked with tumeric so it's pretty strong in that flavor and comes in a vibrant yellow color. -We got all of the sauces for the Hainan chicken and when we asked for the little cups to go, we just got some new ones. Thank you! We had WAY too much food leftover for dinner and the next couple of days. The portions are pretty generous here, and we ended up only taking a couple bites of the pasta, seafood noodles, and chicken rice, literally full meals for us the later days. They take Apple Pay, but you have to walk to the front, but that was fine since you can leave and exit much quicker. This place is open until 2 AM. Perfect for stopping by if you're done with a concert or late night hang out!

I came here with family and waited a few minutes before getting seated. Interestingly, some of the staff wore shirts that said "Tam's Noodle House" on the back. That's the incumbent business for this location, but HK Macau Bistro II basically serves the same big menu of Cantonese cuisine. The first observation that struck my interest is that this restaurant operates nearly all the time as they open at 8 am and close at 2 am the next day. We ordered braised tofu with brown sauce, Macau-style curry beef stew, and crab meat with fish maw soup. The tofu and soup came a long time before the curry, so there was a wait. The braised tofu didn't have a slurry like in other restaurants, but it still had delicious taste. The curry also had potatoes with a slight crisp to them, so they weren't soggy. It was filling and had a good amount of spice. The soup was solid, and there was plenty for us three. Noon is a peak time, so you can expect to wait and dine in a loud setting. The restaurant was really busy, but the servers weren't too hard to flag down. Unfortunately, there was a fairly large moth that appeared around our area, and another table swatted it inadvertently toward us. This restaurant serves solid quality in large portions, and prices seem similar to the current market.

Came by after a dental appointment in West Covina for the first time since the remodel and it looks great! The decor inside definitely reminds me of the San Gabriel location, but the menu here feels way more expansive. They've added a lot of new styles and local Macau favorites that you don't see everywhere else. We tried: * Special Crab Meat Yee Mien: This was excellent and full of flavor. * Baked European Style Curry Seafood Rice: Really unique and delicious. It seems like this is the only spot where you can find these specific dishes done this way. Service was solid and friendly too. Definitely a great addition to the Rowland Heights food scene, we'll be back to explore more of the menu!

Very good and lively HK Macau cafe and bistro located in a Rowland Heights shopping center. Lively = Nice Loud and Happy locale with people enjoying Cantonese cafe comfort food. Tables have either playing cards or MJ tiles under the glass table tops. So Cantonese chic! Waited mid-Saturday around half hour for a table for three. We had HK Milk Tea, Pineapple Bun (2 to an order, liked this a lot) with Butter, Macau Beef Stew (a bit chewy with lots of tendons), Salt & Pepper Pork Chops (very good and temp Hot, Bock Choy & Garlic (needed a veggie for meal balance) and a sandwich to go. We were happy with the comfort food! Service is excellent as they refilled our milk tea a few times. I like this chain for consistent Cantonese cafe food.

Everything we ordered was yummy! We ordered the R9 (Steamed rice noodle with dry shrimp); K11 (X.O. Sauce String Bean with fish cake); F1 (Macau-style Curry Beef Stew); and C14 (Kaya French Toast) My personal favorite was the Kaya French toast. I forgot to take a picture of it since I ate it too fast. It wasn't too sweet and they were generous with the kaya filling. Definitely coming again!

love! HK! cafes! my classic go-to order is a chow mein/fun and some kind of veggie dish. honorable mentions include breakfast items like the bolo bao pork chop sandwich and the congee. service is your typical chinese diner kinda service but that's what makes the food taste even better!!!

Love the Hong Kong/Macau cafe style decor and cleanliness at this restaurant. Every table has Majong blocks with different characters like SpongeBob, Shin Chan, Mofusand cats, etc. The service is service is quick just like in HK, no BS, just boom boom boom, let's go! The food gets to you faster than the fairy godmother. I usually order the pork offal congee (and eat it with the chili oil); the ingredients are fresh and not overcooked. It's very hard to find a restaurant in LA that can achieve that. The pineapple buns are so soft, warm, and buttery; kinda reminds me of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts, you can just devour one in two bites . They're very generous with the soy sauce noodles, enough to save it for breakfast the next day .

Just when I thought Hong Kong Cafes were becoming non-existent in Rowland Heights, HK Macau Bistro pops up to save the day! I had been to the San Gabriel location before but am so happy to see this newer one open in Rowland Heights since I pass by this area way more often. And it is even more awesome because it's open late! HK Style Milk Tea - Legit coffee orange color Hong Kong style tea... Strong, sweet, comforting. It has that long steeped HK taste that milk teas at boba shops don't do. Free refills on this! HK Style Lemon Ice Tea - If you want something refreshing on a hot day, the Lemon Ice Tea always does the trick. Good lemon flavor throughout. Beef with Red Rice - Tender filet pieces, cut bite sized, served with classic red rice. The beef was sweet, peppery and really easy to bite through, no junk pieces, just the meat. I would order this again. Deep fried tofu with XO Sauces (salt and pepper) - A big square of tofu, cut to small squares and wok fried in very high heat to give it a paper crisp outside and juicy inside. Fried tofu is one of my favorite splurges at Cantonese and Taiwanese restaurants and their version is very good. You'll want to finish this before you leave as it doesn't reheat will. The chopped red and green peppers with garlic bits give it the right amount of extra. The restaurant's interior is lined with literal mahjong tables and street signs of Hong Kong and Macau. Every table one sits at is so interesting with the different mahjong pieces. Service is good here, they are efficient, like HK Cafes are known to be. There many different dishes to try here... Pineapple buns with slabs of butter, fried noodles, fried rice, sandwiches, combo dishes with steak and chicken, lobster, baked pastas, wonton soup, stir fry dishes, etc. Thanks for solving my late night cravings HK Macau Bistro!

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting.
