What a cute patch! We had a group of about 30 who met on a Sunday morning at 9am when it opened and it was perfect. It wasn't too hot or crowded. An hour later around 10am was when it started to get busy. It's a smaller patch so a couple hours is doable if you have small kiddos. There's a barn to buy your pumpkins, a corn maze ($5pp), corn blaster ($1 per shot), petting zoo (free), and some small booths of food and small trinkets. Our group had a lot of fun for the 2 hours we were there. There is a huge rock display where the kids climb and great photo ops. This patch was quite a distance from Mira Mesa (40-45 mins) but since we left early in the morning, there was no traffic and ample parking. Parking is free and lots available. read more

Happened upon this sweet pumpkin patch by accident & so glad that we did! My husband & I enjoyed our time here. We've been to numerous pumpkin patches in the county, and this one has been the best experience. I loved seeing pumpkins growing from the vine & picking one from them. We went for the first time to pick up a Christmas tree in December 2025. It wasn't a very Christmas-y atmosphere when we went and there wasn't many choices in the tree size we wanted. We picked the best we could and tried to make the experience as fun as possible for the kids, but it was lacking to say the least. As expensive as Christmas trees can be we will be going somewhere else with the family next Christmas. We usually go to the Family Christmas Tree Farm and have a great time there, but thought we try somewhere different this year. I would give it a 2.5 because it was Okay, just not what we hoped for or wanted. I think it would be best for a no muss no fuss, just get your tree and go kind of place. read more

Pumpkin Patch. While driving to Julian we noticed a long line of cars trying to enter a Pumpkin Patch. So on the way back home we stopped by. Free parking and basically a free experience. They do charge for the corn maze and the corn cannon. The best attraction was the Bison in the petting zoo. - Just pumpkin for sale here, no shops or market. - Because the parking lots consist of soft dirt, a ton of dust will be kicked up in the air. Every year for the last couple of years, we have been visiting different pumpkin patches around town and haven't repeated. I have learned to stick to a "farm" not "station". With that said, Mountain Valley is a farm/ranch and you see the pumpkin growing on the ground attached to the vines. It's about 25 minutes from Poway heading towards Julian. Entrance would be on the left and it's all dirt. No real restrooms but yes portable restrooms in the parking lot. This place is free and you pay extra for activities. This place is not as big as Bates or Oma but it does have: -Corn maze $5 -Petting zoo -Hay ride $5 -Corn cannon $1 for 2 -Pony rides $5 -Food truck -Snack bar Lots of photo opportunities. There's so much to do for the family and kids. I saw people bringing their dogs. There's an area with picnic tables that you can bring your own food and just chill. There's a food truck that sells tacos and hamburgers. Also a snack bar that sells water ($2) and dipping dot ice cream. As well as corn in a cup. It can get really hot inland so bring a hot, put on sun screen, and bring water. read more

This pumpkin Patch is both good and not so good in my opinion. It was difficult to rate. If you only have younger kids most likely it will still be a hit but be prepared to spend more money than you intend to as everything is expensive. Unless things have changed there are no rides or carnival booths, well there is one hay ride and a maze, but other than that mostly just corn shooters and a petting zoo. However, it is a clean and friendly environment for the most part and not a complete waste of time if this sounds like something that you would enjoy. I would like going overall, but would be upset if I was expecting a "carnival like," or exciting, pumpkin patch. read more

Neat place... Mountain Valley Ranch has a cool pumpkin patch that has a lot activities for the whole family... corn maze, corn cannon, a animal petting zone, and hayrides. The barn was decorated for the season with animatronics among a myriad of pumpkins and gourds. Prices are very reasonable for the cravable squash we love to place on our porches. This makes for a fun day trip & can easily be coupled with a quick visit into Julian for some delish apple cider & pie! A perfect stop to bring younger kids & dogs. Lots of open space. However, if you're with an older group, such as all adults or teenagers, I'd recommend a larger pumpkin patch with food & rides like Bates Nut Farm. FYI- there are 2 dogs that roam freely around this pumpkin patch (super friendly & chill) but if anyone in your group isn't comfortable around dogs, just be aware. +PROS: -Dog friendly! Went here today for out fall pumpkin patch experience. It was a bit of a drive for us but it was scenic. Parking was easy, plentiful and free. The corn maze was an actual corn maze (other patches have mazes that have been hay bales in a corn field) and we had fun following the path. It was $5 per person for the maze. Kids $4 and under are free. Next we did the hayride. It was the nicest hay wagon? rack? I have ever ridden it. It is metal with wooden bench seats which are nicely maintained. This was also $5 per person. Did the pony ride which was $5 for 3 laps. I found it a little concerning they did not have safety straps and instead rely on one staff to hold the child in place while the other staff leads the pony. We have been to several different places to ride ponies and always seen the safety strap. The corn cannon was fun and is $1 a shot? pop? Husband and kidlet did 5 turns. Good selection of pumpkins and the prices were decent. Staff we interacted with were friendly. They had a food truck there that sold: hot dog, hamburger, quesadillas, nachos and tacos. Also a snack bar selling sodas $2 per chan, candy $1, water, chips $1. A stand that sold corn, caramel apple, or caramel apple lollipops. There was also a vendor tent there selling halloween themed items. We did not go to look at them but it looked like t-shirts, bows etc. Overall a good experience and we would consider coming back again. read more

There's a ton of photo opps, a corn maze, and a corn shooter. They provide wagons for your pumpkins too that are so charming! Also, I never realized until today that everyone who has goats should have a goat maze. The staff were all sweethearts and so helpful. We've been coming to this place every October for about 5 years now. Every time the whole family has so much fun! The best part is definitely the corn maze. They have really upgraded it in the last year. It isn't too hard or too long, but it is long enough to enjoy. There is also a corn cannon that is very fun to use. It is quite loud but only costs a couple bucks to shoot. There also are some cows, horses, a pony, chickens, and a buffalo!! We all love the buffalo! They have a very large selection of fun and unique pumpkins, big and small! And of course, there is the Goat Maze, a little maze for goats. The staff is all very kind and helpful!! Came here during a weekday with my 2 kids and enjoyed an afternoon through the corn maze and walked through the petting zoo. Very well made Ranch Farm. Definitely different than most. Was sad that they don't offer the hay ride during the weekday, but very understandable. They have a nice patch of grass where you can have a picnic, just in view of the various animals in their petting zoo, which includes a number of goats, a calf, and even a bison! Very cool to see up close. The barn has a variety of pumpkins to purchase and is very well decked out with Halloween props. But be careful with you little ones, as some are motion sensored and may startle them. Overall, we had a great afternoon going through the tall corn maze and enjoying what the Ranch had to offer! We drive by in our way to Julian to make the most of the last weekend of Apple picking and my kids went bananas. Two words: PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!! Turns out this weekend was the first weekend and my heart is singing because we love fall. Pony rides, hay rides, corn shooter, corn maze, petting zoo and of course pumping picking were just some of the activities on offer. My girls had the best time and are trying to get us to go back again today lol There is no admission fee. Most activities are $5 like pony rides and hay rides. Other like corn shooting is $1 for two tries. They have a variety of different pumpkins to choose from and the corn maze is $5 per person. Kids under 4 - free! Good deal. They close at 6pm and we got there at 4pm so we tried to fit In as many activities as possible. we will probably be going back, earlier next time. read more

Last year I was living in Ramona and a friend and I were looking to go to a pumpkin patch to take our almost 1 year olds. We came here and had a blast. Our girls enjoyed looking at the animals. Here we are a year later and decided to come all the way up here to this pumpkin patch again regardless of being far from it now. It's free admission and you don't have to pay those ridiculous fees to get in. When it comes to parking, there is soooo much space! On the weekdays you will have absolutely no problem getting parking, you won't have a problem on the weekends either but it is EXTREMELY packed. It makes for a funner time though. They are on what I'm assuming is several acres so they just have hundreds of cars but like I said before, you'll still find parking. On the weekdays it's on the slower relaxing times, so if you're looking for less crowds, come on those days. On the weekends they have the hay rides, vendors and other things they might not have on the weekdays. I came with my now almost 2 year old and she had an amazing time. More this year because she can walk! For moms that are looking to wear out your toddlers, this is a place to do it. Especially when you have a hyped up monster like mine that seems to create energy just by breathing air. The most fun my daughter had was the dog from the farm, Blue. Such a sweetheart and from what I'm told, likes the much younger children instead of the older ones. Less skittish. Can you say, "Every pumpkin you can think of?" In the big Barn they have EVERY single type of pumpkin you can think of! Plus a load of Indian corn. I'm not joking, pumpkin patches is a loved hobby of mine and they have the most selection I've ever seen. Prices posted above and organized . They also have the normal field you can grab your pumpkins from as well. Prices are phenomenal! You can get a nice beautiful size pumpkin for $5 vs a dying old one at the super market. They also have Halloween theme set ups for great picture taking, for all you famous Instagramers. They also provide so many little wagons so you can go out with the tiny tots or just haul them for pumpkins! Such a great idea! They have a beautiful picnic area where you can pack a lunch and eat with your family. Have you ever seen a Goat jungle gym? They got one. Plus other farm animals to look at with an awesome description of every animals and about them information. What really sold me was when my daughter was playing with the dog Blue and the owner Markie came to socialize with us for about 15 minutes. Chill, fun, friendly pumpkin patch experience. Not too crowded, even on a Saturday in October. The petting zoo is free, but they do charge $5/persons 5+(?) for hay rides and corn maze. I think it's worth it for the hay rides and the corn maze because the overall experience is relaxing, and it's a friendly group that runs it. We thought the $5/kid charge for the pony ride was expensive for the very few turns they took around the ring (that was my only gripe). Otherwise, I thought everything else was worth it. Beautiful pumpkin patch, great selection, that hay ride was fun and definitely worth it. Great to support a ranch like this one. Stopped by with Wee One, Little Girl, and some friends about 2 weeks before Halloween. L.G. slept through the whole thing so no opinion from her, but W.O. and his BFF had a blast running/toddler waddling through the pumpkin patch. All of the pumpkins were already cut from the vine for ease of picking, and they had staged them periodically through the field to give the kids a whole "treasure hunt" feel. We actually rather liked that, the boys could inspect a pumpkin, change their minds and find another pumpkin without having to actually buy every pumpkin if they pulled it off the vine. They enjoyed riding around in wagons and watching all the dogs run around and chase the corn cannon "artillery". We did go on a day that supposedly had hay rides, a corn maze, and pony rides, but none of those were actually running that day. The boys enjoyed looking at and petting the animals they have there, like the Bison and Goats and Pigs. W.O. picked out 2 good sized pumpkins that came to $14, which isn't much more than you would pay in the store, with the added bonus of a "treasure hunt" and never-before-seen-in-real-life animals. I have a 1 and 2 year old and they love Mountain valley ranch through out the week. It is peaceful and slow when it's not the weekend. Also free to get in and plenty to do on a budget. We go lots of times during the Halloween season! They did get scared of the dragon in the barn but that's to be expected with children and Halloween decorations!
