We found UWS Cat Sitting via its instagram, which shows how fun and caring Lauren is with the cats she visits-- you should check it out. Within one day of requesting her services on the website, we had a covid-conscious meet and greet where Lauren came to our apartment in the upper EAST side to meet our cat and learn about our cat care routine (e.g., feeding, litter box, playing, the building and keys). Lauren made sure to cover all the bases and always promptly replied to our last minute requests/questions. Lauren provided two thirty minute visits for $30 each over two days (total $60) and reported back each day w photos and a narrative of the visit via email. Our cat is shy so requires some patience if you want to get her to come out of hiding, but Lauren cat whispered her way into playing with our cat, which we're so grateful for (cats need affection even if they act too cool for school!). After her first visit, our cat even got a goodie bag, which is a nice touch. Don't see how you could go wrong w supporting this small business that ensures your cat's needs are met!

She kept me in the loop while I was gone, sending multiple texts, pics and videos with each visit. My Snoopy was a little "standoffish" (read: a bitch), but Raquel always managed to coax her out and get her to play. On top of it, my bathroom ceiling collapsed while I was away (thanks 120-year-old plumbing), and she immediately let me know so I could take care of it from afar. I've used her several times since then, most recently over the holidays this year. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to Snoop in March , but now I have Kevin, and Raquel continues going above and beyond to make sure he gets the best care possible. She even brought him food from her own stash when he wouldn't eat the kind I had left him. (Cats, amirite?) Also, she's super flexible and accommodating. Grant it, there were one or two "hiccups" with unreliable employees (which is always an issue with any company) but management was quick and responsive and made sure my dog was in good care. But my fur baby wasn't only in good care, she was in great care. When I traveled and needed overnight stays, the staff spent so much time in my apartment. I assured the younger ones that they could go out at night, but they insisted on staying with my dog. They absolutely spoiled her with love and attention. My dog had behavioral issues in the beginning as she was a rescue, and they handled them beautifully. Towards the end they were very caring and understanding when my dog's health deteriorated. I am not ready to adopt again, but when I do, I will not hesitate to use their services again.

I knew that I could no longer rely on my good friend who just enjoyed visiting the cats while I was away, but I needed professional help to not only visit Cassie and my other cat, Napoleon Dynamite, on a schedule, yet also feel comfortable with letting someone in my home twice a day, and to trust those people. Due to the restrictions due to the pandemic, we scheduled a videoconferencing session, where I was able to show her my home, introduce my cat, and explain in detail my complex situation. Jennifer is professional, friendly, compassionate, smart, and knowledgable. She is also realistic and imaginative, so she is able to make various suggestions and offer many different scenarios, without claiming that one will be the answer to everything. After our session, Jennifer emailed me a detailed report recapping our session with helpful suggestions on diet, meal schedule, with links to toys, Youtube videos, food brands, etc. She followed up two weeks later, and continues to give me recommendations for doctors and specialists. I can keep sending her questions for two months, with is a pretty good amount of time to gauge how the new regiment is working. There are not many animal behaviorists who specialize in cats, so I'm very glad to have found and reached out to Jennifer. Very strongly recommended.

We felt completely overwhelmed with the behavior as we were unable to leave anything out in the kitchen without him getting into it, and were unable to eat around him. We had a video call with Jennifer where we showed her our apartment, introduced her to our cats and explained the issues. It was a very comprehensive call, and we felt like she really listened to all of our concerns and took them seriously. Jennifer quickly created a behavior modification plan to address Fig's food issues, while also offering us some suggestions on how to improve the relationship between him and our older cat. This was an added bonus as it's not the original reason we contacted Jennifer, but she heard we were also worried about that and wanted to make sure we had the tools to address that as well. Two months later and things are completely different! We've implemented many of the strategies Jennifer suggested to us, and both Fig and our older cat are much happier for it. Everyone in the house is significantly less stressed when food is involved, and we are excited to move onto the next phase of our behavior plan - clicker training! Jennifer has been incredibly responsive throughout the two month period after our initial call and has continued to answer any behavior questions we have, even if they aren't related to the original food issues. If you're on the fence about whether this is worth it, it definitely is!

Theresa is incredibly kind, reliable, responsible, professional, and knowledgeable. Kind - Very thoughtful to my needs and to the needs of my special (extremely timid, probably from abuse) rescue dog. She even made time to attend my dog's training session, at the request of the dog trainer! Reliable - Always there when we need her, very accomodating. Responsible - Always thinking responsibly re the needs of my dog (e.g. suggesting a vet trip (and even taking her to the vet) and getting her food, when I have irresponsibly run out). Professional - Sends receipts, breakdown of package, and usage of package. She even sends me updates (with pictures!) on what my dog did (or didn't do) while under her supervision. Knowledgeable - A great resource for information on vets, boarding, and just general tips. My dog is extremely shy and scared of everything/everyone - she LOVES LOVES LOVES Theresa! We try to give at least a two week's notice for care requests, but even when we've requested last minute help, they've been able to be there for us. I highly recommend the cat sitter Gale!
