Great place to get all you can hot pot in Houston! They have a variety of items to pick from! Whether it be hot or cold items in the buffet bar, everything was great in quality! They have a really good service too! I highly recommend and would come back

Wowow. Hands down my favorite hotpot place because of their spicy soup base. No other hotpot place that I have tried has quite the same spice level and beefy but savory broth like theirs. Their lunch deal is such a steal and I always find myself coming back. This location also has better lamb than most other places I have been to! Their hand sliced beef is pretty good too. Everything other than the meat and the soup is self-serve including drinks and sauce at no extra cost! Their lemon juice is so refreshing and a nice palette cleanser too. The meat comes out quickly and they refill soup when asked. I like sitting in the booths and they have a darker aesthetic. They have small ice cream cups for dessert as well!

This place is AYCE with 2 tier types for different meats, and all the veggies/seafood/water is self-serve. The interior of this location is stunning and can seat large parties. I really liked how they have 2 pots for a table of 6. However, the broth here disappointed me--after just 30 minutes the chicken broth and spicy broth just looked and tasted like plain pork bone broth. The tomato broth was not like Haidilao Chinese style and more like a Campbell's flavor. The tom yum broth was the only broth that tasted good and kept some flavor by the end of the meal. The enoki mushrooms also didn't get refilled after 9 when I went. I do love the bouncy round crab stick type that they have here, and the meat quality was overall quite good with nice plating. If the broth quality improves, this place would be fantastic.

There are now a plethora of hot pot ayce options around town, but Happy Lamb Hot Pot will always be the original for me. The only downside for me is they don't give tables two pots of soup unless you have five or more people. Four adults sharing one large pot just doesn't make sense to me. For soups, you can choose between 3-4 options or do a half and half pot. I always go with the classic and spicy options. Beef, pork, and chicken meats are ordered and brought to your tabel by the server. Veggies, seafood, noodles, eggs, meatballs, tofu, etc. are available at the bar and self served. We're talking fish fillets, clams, oysters, shrimp, tofu, fresh noodles, instant noodles, quail eggs, fish balls, lamb dumplings, chicken eggs, imitation crab meat, shrimp paste, and so much more. For the prepared foods, they have fried chicken, stir fried noodles, ox tail, and cakes. Their fried chicken is delicious, except they some times take a while to bring out batches. In those cases, check with your server. I have been to many ayce hot pots but always end up coming back here.

Food was excellent! You can tell that all their seafood and meat that they serve is fresh! Also, the presentation of the food was stunning! Service was good! Very friendly and accommodating! Ambiance is very nice, clean and spacious! Decoration is nice as well.

Love the lamb!

If you like lamb, ignore the low average rating. The food was great! However, this is not a place for someone who comes to hot pot for meats other than lamb. The meat options are limited, and I personally didn't care for the non-lamb options after trying them. The self-serve area is kept relatively clean and the flavor of the broths (we got the original and spicy version) were great. The fried chicken and chinese fried buns they have out are so good! The fried chicken could use more seasoning, but the cook on them is very nice (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside). Unfortunately, they ran out of lamb bones so I didn't get to try them (you request them through your server), but I will be back during lunch hours to give them a try!

Service is slow, food is fine. Went there to celebrate Mother's Day, the waiters tried to rush us out several times after one hour and 1/2.

Spicy and regular bone broth.

Best hot pot in the city. All you can eat, decent selection, excellent service, pleasant casual atmosphere.

Came here for dinner and it wasn't crowded. I like it that the tables and chairs are spaced out so each table has its "personal space". Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had the Yuan Yang guo (best of both worlds) pot. The original marrow broth was ok. I was hoping for a deeper flavor. The spicy marrow broth was good. The spice level was perfect. There was a good spread of raw and cooked food. Though the raw food ingredients were fresh especially the meat, the food items were kinda common. The meat tasted good without any sauces, just like what the restaurant advertised. The cooked food were decent despite being "instant". Overall the food was ok but am on the edge whether to visit again because of the variety.

Workers are so kind and inviting! Flies around the heated food at the buffet but honestly don't care (and no one was bothered) - this place is great. The staff is kind. The free ice cream at the end is not always offered, so make sure to ask for it.

A sign indicating that it is out of order has been posted consistently. Each time I've asked the wait staff when the yogurt machine will be fixed, they simply look at me and laugh, providing no real response. This suggests that the machine has been broken for a much longer time than necessary. I have to wonder why it is taking so long to fix the machine--I'm sure I'm not the only customer asking this question. I suspect that as soon as you realize this is affecting your ratings, you may decide to remove the machine altogether and pretend it was never there. It was so delicious, due to the quality, you really could be full after a second or third round, unlike other restaurants with cheaper food quality, and you find yourself eating several plates just to feel full. While I'm not in this part of town often, I would happily go back.

The plus side (#1) is the abundant parking, practically guaranteed seating, and options that skew on the more authentic side of things. The downside is knowing the limitations that come with affordably priced buffets and quality of food. The official entrance is from the parking lot between Vinh Hoa (#2) and the massage. Plenty of folks will also enter from the back, which is through the Dynasty Plaza mall and takes a bit longer. It then becomes a question of stairs (parking lot) versus an escalator (mall). At $18-24 (lunch to holiday pricing), the prices aren't too steep for AYCE food. Kids 3 and under eat free but are otherwise subject to $13-14 per person. Non-water drinks are $2.39 a person, so definitely get as many refills as possible. The place is as massive on the inside as it looks on the outside. Window side seating offers an elevated view of Chinatown, but don't focus too much on the excessive finger prints along the windows. The seating is so abundant that almost any size group should have zero problem finding space. There is also a large private room that is ideal for special functions, equipped with TVs and a sound system. Food wise, it's a hodgepodge of all food types. Here's a breakdown in the stations: Mongolian Grill / Noodle Soup: This is a combo station where one can customize their stir fry. I had decent results with lo mein, an egg, some vegetables with beef slices. The person cooking drizzled sesame oil, soy sauce seasoning, and water and each time it took around 3-5 minutes. The noodle soups are a bit more standard but the options here are the noodle options are wonton noodle, beef noodle, seafood noodle, and beef pho. I wouldn't recommend ordering the latter. Fruits & Salads / Cold Dishes / Seafood: A standard selection of cold fruit salads, which is unsurprisingly the least exciting part of the buffet. I'm impressed with the variety of the sushi on the seafood end, but the presentation and fish quality is extremely mediocre. It won't deter most folks, since most people perceive value by loading up on the rolls. When in doubt, shoot for the sashimi. Entrees: With the exception of the eyesore dim sum and standard fried food selection, there is a solid selection of hot food. The weekend offerings is probably the best they'll have, but some standouts here included the thin ribeye slices, a solid mapo tofu with a kick, well seasoned clams, fish slices, pork spare ribs, a very solid steamed fish, and several varieties of fried noodle. Folks might enjoy the Chinese-American selection, which should have all the classics (sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, marinated chicken wings, etc.) and then some. Serviced as a decent job of clearing tables, offering water refills, cleaning the food counters, and replenishing empty trays. I appreciate some small touches, such as their multicolored plates for different selections, bathrooms, and well marked labels. Buffet lovers who are in it for the thrill of copious portions will likely enjoy what's available here. __________ (#1) Aside from one's waistline. (#2) https://www.yelp.com/biz/vinh-hoa-houston

The first red flag was arriving to find the banchan and salad already sitting on the table. Everything was warm, which made it seem like it had been sitting out for a while rather than being freshly served. After placing our order, only part of the meal arrived. We eventually had to ask about the missing soup and japchae. When the soup finally came out, it was cold. We later learned the wrong bowl had been brought out. Once the correct soup arrived, it was piping hot, packed with flavor, and had just the right amount of spice, easily one of the highlights of the meal. My husband was especially disappointed to learn that the beef belly, the dish he specifically came for, was completely sold out...on a Friday night. The fried shrimp also came out cold, and the popcorn chicken was underwhelming. Thankfully, not everything missed the mark. The beef bulgogi and kalbi were both flavorful and satisfying, and the pork cheek was served in generous, meaty portions that were perfect for sharing. Overall, the meal felt inconsistent. There were a few standout dishes, but between the service delays, missing items, and several dishes arriving cold, the experience didn't live up to the memories I had of dining here years ago. Would I come back? Probably not. Houston has too many great Korean BBQ options to overlook this many service and quality issues.
