My biggest complaint is their staff, I'm not normally one to complain but one of the workers who is often there -maybe shift supervisor or floor manager, is always grumpy, furrowed brows, annoyed voice, and never a smile or welcome. Yum! Another great boba spot to add to the books. They have a few locations but I never got a chance to try it until today. The line is usually super long anytime I'd go by either location, which must mean it's pretty good right? They were still pretty busy here when I stopped by today, but I only had to wait about 15 minutes for my drink. They had a lot of people there, but the service was quick and efficient. I'm glad that this location isn't crazy busy like the Bellevue Square one! There's plenty of parking nearby, the staff was friendly and there wasn't a long wait! I ordered the milk tea with rock salt crema and also a bubble waffle. The rock salt crema was very sweet and heavy... and to be honest, I regretted getting it. I wanted to try something new with my milk tea but it ended up making it taste too sweet and heavy. The bubble waffle was good though. My boyfriend got the avocado matcha smoothie with no sugar. It tasted just as you would imagine that- it didn't taste like anything. He was happy with it though since he doesn't like anything sweet. I just moved here from San Jose, where I gradually became obsessed with Happy Lemon. I was very happy (ha!) to know that they have a location here as well. Their menu is actually slightly different, but they still basically have my favorite drink so it's cool. Mango Jasmine Green Tea $4.50 Large + $0.50 Lychee Jelly + $0.75 Rock Salt Crema: So at home in SJ they have salted cheese, but here it's rock salt crema? The menu still has a picture of a cheese wedge next to the rock salt crema series section, so is it actually the same? This is a case for the FBI. Either way, I like the creaminess it adds to the drink. I ask for my drink sealed when I can remember so I can flip it a couple times to mix it better. Locations/boba-istas (?) may just differ on their ice/sugar handling standards, but when I asked for 75% ice this time, I got like no ice, so next time I'll leave that at 100%. This place use to be my go to spot for happy lemon, but in recent years this place has seriously downgraded. The drinks are often 50/50. The staff is probably the reason why I will not return. I have encountered this one particular staff member twice in the evening where there's usually no customers, and every single time I walk in, they just blankly stare at me, don't care to greet customers or even ask what you are going to order. Then they proceeded to make my drinks and messed up my order when I was the only customer there. I was honestly shocked, I felt like I wasn't welcome there. Their waffles are to die for, the chocolate flavor with the oreo cream??? That my friends, is a meal. As for drinks, they have amazing selections, their menu is easy to read and so colorful I love colors But what really pulls this place together is the staff. I have been a weekly customer and have had a fairly good experience. Wait times are long but i think its due to short staff. Yesterday I went in around 6pm. I ordered 3 boba drinks & 3 waffles. I always ask for wait time on waffles because it can be long. However, they said 10min wait. The employee working the waffles seemed to be having a bad day. She loaded the waffle makers & busters walked out. Maybe she was going on lunch or was done for the day. She didnt inform the other employees. My waffles turned out very crunchy... definitely overcooked because the 2 employees were working the drinks & didnt get to the waffles fast enough. By this point the store was full. The employee called out my number. I asked if she could put the drinks on a carry out tray because it would be difficult to carry all my order. I dont think she heard me as she seemed stressed. As i was walking out... one of my drinks fell making a mess. So frustrating as it could have been avoided if she had given it to me on a tray. Anyways, I go & order another one. I had a free drink but because she was so busy I had to pay for the boba. Adding more time. By the time i got home (i live 5min away) my waffles were cold & harder than when i got them. This Happy Lemon location has been one of my favorite places to go in order to satisfy my constant bubble tea cravings. Compared to the location in Bellevue Square that would have long lines (pre-COVID) and the location in Issaquah (no stamp card), this one is closer to my house, has no lines, and I get a stamp for each order that can add up to a free drink for redemption! One of my favorite drinks is the Jasmine Green Tea with Rock Salt Crema and tapioca, 70% sweet and less ice. I love the combination of the salty rock salt crema combined with the sweetness of the jasmine green tea. The tapioca is chewy and slightly sweet, which complements well with the drink itself. I also love getting the Mango Matcha smoothie with 70% sweetness. The drink itself is smooth, thick, creamy, and I love the little sweet mango bits in the drink. It's so good that I don't think it needs any other toppings. My husband's current favorite drink is the Ube Black Tea with Rock Salt Crema and taro balls. The bubble waffles here are also one of my favorites! I love getting the original bubble waffle along with their creamy dipping sauce. In terms of safety, the cash register has a plexiglass for contact-free ordering, and there are signs inside to remind people to stand 6 feet apart from each other. First time trying this place and there was no line formed at all but when there was a line, it went by super fast. Really love the interior of this place, super clean and modern, it's a little bit small so there isn't that much tables to sit with your friends and hang out but if you get lucky, then a table will open up for you. I decided to try one of the drink from the recommendation menu, so I tried the strawberry shortcake smoothie. This drink tasted like the strawberry shortcake ice cream that you can get from an ice cream truck or at a grocery store, Flavor was on point and the sweetness was perfect. I thought it would be too sweet but it was perfect, this is a drink for anyone who loves a creamy and fulfilling drink. I also tried the freshly squeezed lemon jasmine black tea(regular ice/ 70% sweetness). This was really refreshing and you can taste how fresh it is! I would re order this drink over and over again. Also I decided to try the chocolate bubble waffle! I was surprise how delicious it was. It was crispy, soft, and chewy! The waffle was cooked perfectly, the inside was moist and the outside had the perfect crunch, but the down part is you can only order 2 per order. The original is super tasty, it's crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. It was delicious just by itself. I tried the original milk tea with 70% sweetness, the OG is always my go-to when first trying a new boba spot. I've been to this happy lemon around 3 times since it's a convenient location for me and have had really high hopes, but I've been pretty let down. One thing I liked was the decor and aesthetic of the place since they had air plants as decoration! The service is consistently polite and friendly as well! What's not so great is the actual bubble tea. I ordered a taro milk tea and when I first tasted it I wasn't sure if I actually ordered a taro milk tea since it tasted like a plain milk tea. If it had been a plain milk tea it would have been alright (3/5) but since it was supposed to be taro flavor it was really disappointing (1/5). The more I drank it I tasted small amounts of the taro flavor, but it wasn't very convincing. My friend got the matcha avocado drink and it too was disappointing since neither of us could taste any matcha. As a plain avocado drink it was ok (3/5) but since it was supposed to also taste like matcha it was very subpar (1/5). Another time I got a plain milk tea with the taro pearls (4/5) and I would recommend the taro pearls since they are a fun alternative to boba! The biggest redeeming quality about the place is their bubble waffles(5/5)! If they aren't too busy you can get a half and half bubble waffle (half chocolate half original). I'm not sure which I prefer since the chocolate flavor is subtle and the original is a little sweeter. Neither are very sweet which I liked. These waffles are chewier than normal waffles so it's up to your personal preference if you like them. They also offer crema to dip the waffles in (2/5)but it was too sweet and buttery for my liking so I wouldn't recommend. Overall, the drinks have been underwhelming, but I'll definitely be back for their bubble waffles! I was ordering the drinks and before I finished paying all the drinks were done! All of us got A7, the price is cheap because a lot of the other boba tea places are around $10.00 for one drink. As good as the other location in Bellevue Square but with less crowd. They also share the loyalty card with the other location so buying a drink at either of the locations would add points. In love with Happy Lemon's salty cream cheese tea and it was great in this location as well! They were out of chocolate flavored waffle mix so I didnt get to try that (hence, 4.5 stars). But this is a new location so hopefully they can iron out the kinks soon. I had their strawberry black tea with cream cheese and I didnt like the drink as much as the milk tea with cream cheese. Also I found that the 30% sweetness in this location was prefect (compared to the Bellevue Square one, which always ends up being too sweet). I will be back! read more

Our bubble waffle also took forever and I watched either a friend of the staff or a staff member make a batch of 3-4 bubble waffles for their own to-go order. This made it so that a bunch of us were waiting a really long time. At the Bellevue Square one they put a limit on how many waffles you can order and they should definitely do that here as well. read more

This is a great milk tea and smoothie place. Selections are wonderful and price is fairly reasonable. I would recommend to get your drinks sweetness level at 30% otherwise your drinks will taste sweet. Also if you're a fan of boba in your drinks make sure you tell them instead of reading off the menu. I've been coming to this place for a while and have experienced great service, however the staff lately need to practice a little friendliness especially getting your drinks at the counter. I accidentally grabbed a drink which is similar to what I ordered and one of the girls making the drink snootily told me that's not your drink. Happy lemon is superior and I will fight anyone who thinks otherwise. I prefer this location over the Bellevue mall location for obvious reasons: easy parking and is a lot faster. My favorite has been the lemon honey green tea at 70% sweet. I never enjoy anything sour but decided to give this a try and it has became a favorite. ***If you do 50% sweet on this drink it would be too sour and not pleasant. Will not recommend***. I even stop drinking milk tea now. I've read other reviews saying how the sea salt crema is really good but my opinion is the opposite. This is probably my least favorite sea salt crema place because I don't think it's salty enough, but I've only had it once so maybe it's just on a bad day. I've had the avocado matcha and it's also super yummy. The matcha taste very premium and it doesn't overpower the avocado. The mango matcha is also delicious! Waited around prob 10 minutes before asking if it was ready. Was told their machine wasn't working. Waited some more. Then I asked again. I go here often and am a big fan. I think Happy Lemon makes the best bubble waffle in my opinion where the ratio of chewy and crispy is perfect. Waits can be long but I think it usually gets done in a decent amount of time. I personally go for no sugar because I think the drinks are already sweet even without adding the extra sweetness in but my boyfriend feels he needs that extra sugar because he is more of a sweet tooth than I am. They also offer reward points if you enter the phone number 10 drinks and the next one is free so if you are a frequent customer def take advantage of the rewards.
