TL;DR: for such a large chain, this place is really disappointing. Boba is cooked unevenly. Sago is nothing but a huge goopy clump. Not worth spending $10 on a cup here. I thought I'd give this chain a try and I was very disappointed. Parking: mall garage, free. Atmosphere: no seating, long lines for ordering, waiting for your order to be completed is longer than waiting in the line (I presume it is because they fill mobile orders at the same time). Menu: posted on the back wall above the register, also a smaller menu at the beginning of the ribbon divider. Service: order and pay at the front, wait for your order to be announced, grab your own straw. Mango Sago Smoothie: I requested 30% sweetness and it was still very sweet but that wasn't the worst part--it wasn't until I reach the bottom of the cup that I saw the sago was nothing but two large coagulated clumps. It was clearly poorly made and not fresh. The mango tasted mediocre and was nothing to write home about. The boba was also very unevenly cooked and was mushy on the outside and rubbery/hard inside. I noticed this on the first sip and wasn't going to stand back in the 10 minute queue to get it remade. Stopped by this particular location of the global chain while visiting family in Washington, and the experience was as expected albeit drink preparation was rather slower than we're accustomed to. Odd given we were the only patrons in the shop, but maybe we California peeps are just in too much of a rush! :D Banquette seating along the wall is fine for waiting but seems to intentionally encourage to-go orders. Pretty good and large chain for boba. It's pretty sweet for what they have but you can adjust your sugar levels. The flavors are unique and I really like the matcha smoothie types. My favorite is the avocado matcha and the mango matcha. The service was pretty quick for the amount of people inside. That said, when there is a line it goes pretty quick when it's mostly regulars, and only gets bottlenecked by people who have never bubbled their tea or bubbled their waffles before and don't know how to order. Happy Lemon is pretty much my favorite bubble tea shop (on par with TP Tea for me). My go to is the boba milk tea no sugar. I think the boba syrup has enough sugar in it that makes the true sweetness like 5-10% which is good for me. I like the milkiness of the boba milk tea. It's one of the smoothest milk teas I've had, and I've had a lot of milk tea. But I think my friends picked out better drinks than me since I didn't hear them say anything about their drink. Drinks have been consistently good- my favorites are the Black Tea with Taro Bubble, Bubble Tea+Lychee Jelly+Pudding, and Matcha Avocado smoothie. Even opting for zero sugar, there's still a small bit of sweetness that's just right. The price point is comparatively a bit lower, and all drinks are the large size. Honestly, just like any Happy Lemon. Its average. The menu is like anywhere else. I usually get the Ube Milk Tea or something and its good when I want to clench a thirst and need Milk Tea asap. Their bubble waffles are fine. I like to get them with their oreo cream dip. I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The customer service is great, but the place itself isn't amazing and I'm not really sure what else they can do to improve. It would be nice if they let you sample their seasonal drinks so you know what you're going to get into before getting it. If you want a place to grab boba with a few friends, the seating isn't great, but they do have some places to sit and talk. Not that many though and all right in front of the door, so you'll get a breeze (minus the one set of seating for four in the back corner). We usually come on the weekend so the waits tend to be pretty long, but generally not more than 20 to 30 minutes because I definitely wouldn't wait longer than that. The ambiance is great. It always smells deliciously of boba. The parking is easy and the counters are always clean. The service is great! I have to say this store is our favorite of all the happy lemon stores because of the service. The employees are always kind and work so hard to make great boba drinks and bubble waffles. They are always prompt and have a good system for cranking everything out. The only thing that I could complain about is the time it takes to make a bubble waffle, but that melts away as you eat the waffle, but that runs into the next section. The boba and waffles are delicious. The waffle is MY FAVORITE item from them. It comes out warm and crispy on the outside with soft chewy centers and breaks into bite sized less mess pieces for sharing or gobbling up yourself. The boba...I'm sure you've been waiting all day for this, but the boba is okay. I like the actual boba themselves, they are chewy, sweet and not too soft (if you know you know). The tea itself is average. I am not a huge fan of the flavor of the tea, but it is better than no tea (if you know you know). The average tea is the only reason they get 4 stars, but it is admittedly a taste preference for milk tea. Their pastry cream in the tea is 10/10. Been to this location multiple times, and I'd say I have had a pretty good experience each time. I usually am not actually a fan of happy lemon because the boba is a hit or miss, but I like the way the staff cooks the boba at this location! I usually get a classic milk tea with boba or pudding with puff cream. I also have tried their black sugar fresh milk, but the black sugar syrup they use tasted way too much like molasses. I also like to get the bubble waffle a few times, and I've never had a one-off moment with how this was cooked like I usually do at other places. The staff is always really friendly! I've been to many locations and always really enjoy the Strawberry Jasmine Green Tea. I've gotten it here twice, and for some reason, it's just not the same. This last time, I felt like the flavor was a bit off, or there was some after taste, almost like that taste of unfiltered ice cubes from an old fridge.
