Unfortunately, I was unable to try the product served here because when I came to this establishment a lady in front of me had a long order so they told me to wait before asking my order since they were busy. However, two other women walked in and they proceeded to take their orders before mine even though I've been waiting for a while. So I decided to leave because it was rude and dismissive of my time waiting there for them to serve someone else. One guy tried to stop me but the other guy was like " we're busy so you can leave if you don't want to wait." Idk I felt like that was a weird response since I was already waiting and they chose to service other customers who came in after me, before me. With no explanation as to why? Happy Lemon! I love that this store is conveniently located in Sugar Land. There is a lovely outdoor patio with seatings and umbrellas. The staff are friendly and quick on their feet. I have yet to try a few more drinks to find the ones I really like. However, I am a sucker for their waffles. Today, I had the red bean flavored waffle and it was delicious when served hot! Whoohoo!! Happy Lemon finally came to Sugar Land! (ok they came a while ago so this review is quite overdue) They have THE BEST salted cheese drinks ever, my go-to is the A1 green tea with salted cheese with 50/50 sugar/ice. It's such a classic and you cannot go wrong with it! I also recently discovered the ube milk tea with taro crème and taro balls - imagine ube ice cream but in milk tea form. It's DELICIOUS. I also recommend 50/50 sugar/ice for this one as well. Last but not least, the EGG WAFFLES. These are probably the closest to what I could get in Hong Kong back in the day. They're made to order so extremely fresh. Add some salted cheese dipping sauce and your taste buds are in heaven. I love that it's in the plaza across from target (not directly across, but it's in the same plaza as the pho restaurant and Blaze), so very easy to get to and I have plenty of excuses to stop by! read more

Be careful when dealing with this establishment. Pray you don't ever have to deal with the owner on basic customer service and or common sense. The store believes that their obligation ends with making the food. We ordered something that the store employee gave to someone by accident, when we asked about our order, they said it was picked up by someone else and that if I wanted another one, that I would have to pay for it. Umm, come again??? On what planet does that remotely sound reasonable? No joke but according to the Texas Penal code, this is a Class C misdemeanor for theft of goods and services under $100. The store owner has cameras everywhere. She looked at the cameras before talking with me and said it was an innocent mistake, OK great so where is the item I paid for???? If the store owner ever responds to this review, I have a simple question. Did your store employee place the item I paid for in my hands? It's a simple yes or no, you have all the video evidence. If this review doesn't resonate with you, please just be careful that no one accidentally takes your order, the store will request that you pay again if you want what you ordered. They lost a customer for life over something that would have cost them less than 50 cents to remake. Since she has cameras everywhere she can see that I have visited their location 3 times in the past month. SMH, all that lost business due to stubbornness. I'm really sad I have to write a not so good review, because I normally love to help and share about small businesses, but this one is a long time in the making :( First let me say, I love Happy Lemon, I first loved it when I visited the location on Bellaire Blvd in Houston (China Town area), and I have loved every single visit there since. The drinks are delicious, bubble waffles are yummy, and the service is always so friendly and so great! When I heard about a new location in Sugar Land I was immediately excited, especially when they invited me to their soft opening too. Their soft opening was a bit of a mess, taking way too long and not having everything they needed. But I didn't mind, they were starting out, and I waited and took pics and videos for them and shared with everyone I knew anyways. After that, I had been a loyal customer who visited multiple times a week. I have taken my friends and family there so many times, and have spent hundreds of dollars at this place. Sadly whenever the woman manager is there, I get really bad vibes and experiences, and I try to let it go but today was the last draw because she was straight up rude to me, and for my own pride I won't be coming back here again Back when they had taro balls as a topping choice, she would always give a minimal amount that barely covered the bottom of the drink, where as when I got the same drink and paid the same expensive price at the Bellaire location or when she wasn't around, I would always get at least 3 times the amount. If I ask for no ice, she wouldn't even fill up the cup, leaving 10% empty, which I have never seen at any boba tea shop I have ever visited, and I have visited a LOT being a regular boba tea drinker. Even the other employees have commented when she wasn't there of her cheapness (sorry not trying to get anyone in trouble, I completely agree with them! And several of my friends have seen and commented on her attitude and cheapness too). Today I got my usual tea with milk foam, with 25% sugar. When I took my first sip I knew it wasn't 25% but 100% sugar. I know because I drink one almost every single day. Yes I'm a little nuts when it comes to boba teas, and maybe the nuttiness over these drinks stop now ‍ I drove back and told her it wasn't made correctly. She looked at me and said "what do you want me to do about it?" Like, what? Normally if someone makes a mistake they would apologize quickly and try to correct it?! I asked if she could make one with no sugar to be easier. She dumped my original fully sugared drink out, mumbled about me, made a new one and complained more, and said "I don't know what to do with you! You always ask me to remake drinks! And have so many demands like you wanted more taro balls." I was kind of red at this point, first of all she made the mistake of making the wrong drink, then she falsely accused me of being a difficult customer, when I have been such a regular who willingly spent so much on their drinks. Yes I did ask if she could put more taro balls in the drinks before, which she NEVER did anyways. But no I don't ask for drinks to be remade, maybe once prior because of a mistake like this too. Her attitude is just really bad (toward me at least, and at least two of my friends have witnessed on two separate occasions). I felt so personally attacked today so sadly I'm not going to put myself in that situation by coming back again. I know for a fact boba tea shops make a TON of money, and I willingly supported that especially at this location. Maybe it's a good thing I won't be coming back, will save a lot of money and be healthier too :) Best of lucks to this Happy Lemon. I'm sure you will do just fine without my support. in summary, waited over 1 hour in the heat only to get an incorrectly made order, likely because the labels were poorly printed usually a big fan of happy lemon, and granted this review was based on the grand opening which was pure chaos it was 100 degrees and employees came out to take social media footage but did not offer water. i watched as countless dehydrated patrons tried to get water from a dispenser before someone finally refilled it. the free tote bag offer was "per order" so large groups were coming in and each individual who wanted a bag would then order 2 drinks to take advantage of the BOGO. eventually, we got our drinks and quickly realized that the drinks were made incorrectly. I have gotten the grapefruit lemon slushy at other locations multiple times and while it is a little sweet for my taste, it is refreshing and what I wanted after the heat. the drink was far more purple than usual and one taste revealed that they accidentally made GRAPE (which is not even on the menu) instead of grapefruit, possibly because the label printed as "grape" despite our receipt clearly stating grapefruit. Major disappointment, will give some grace because they were swamped for the opening but minor tweaks should be made to ensure that the new employees are making the drinks right read more

I tried the passionfruit mango green tea sub lychee jelly for seeds! The bitter taste of passion fruit was rewarded by the mango sweetness and the lychee jelly. I had gotten sushi from the restaurant next door -which was amazing, it's called Ichiban- to pick up a drink and check out the store seeing as it was my first time. The ambiance was adorable, the store was very clean and cool, the decorations were cute and the seating was open and simple. The menu was straight forward, I had checked out the menu online prior, but the menu in person didn't reflect a lot of the online menu. The only downsides being the customer service was a little awkward, and the pricing was a bit much for 1 drink with boba topping. $7.45 for a drink made me regret not just going to a fast food place and getting a $2 drink, but I guess you're paying for the unique flavors and toppings.
