I ordered 2 strawberry shortcake (other employee heard me and made them right away.) , she charges me for one which I shouldn't be complaining for the free drink but she needs to listen to her customers if she's gonna work in food service. Very disappointed in this location... this location was where my family first enjoyed their drinks and has since been going to the pearlridge location since it is closer to our home. Just went to the Ala moana location in forever and to my surprise they have gone down hill. I don't if it's the lack of training but all of our drinks did not taste like what it should be. It offers a lot of refreshing drinks but what makes it stand out against the competition is it focuses on salted cheese as an add on. The bubble waffle with the salted cheese dip was one of my favorites. It adds just the right savory punch to a sweet dessert. This rating is for the soft serve only. So I love soft serve ice cream. This place served an icy texture soft serve for $6 which I don't really care for. That wasn't even the bad part. I have been to Happy Lemon on the mainland. This was my first time to visit an Unhappy Lemon. Sorry to say that my friends hated Happy Lemon because they misread "Wintermelon" for "Watermelon". I immediately noticed it says winter melon because I grew up with winter melon drink in Taiwan. I think the restaurant is responsible for deceiving customers to purposely misspell the drink ingredient. First of all, winter melon drink is brown color and it should never show as big red color drink. Second of all, another drink says with fresh milk next to it. Brown with white is never pure white. I'm always happy when I get to visit Happy Lemon! Of course, driving from Ewa isn't the easiest task, so I'm actually glad they aren't closer to home because I think I'd be spending more money and intaking more unnecessary calories lol. Happy Lemon is a cute little boba shop on the first floor of Ala Moana shopping center. Perfect little snack on the go, and moderately priced considering the location. Since I'm not a true boba fan, all 6 times I've stopped in was for their Bubble Waffle w/ Puff Cream.... Omg so good! If you're a crispy waffle fan and you enjoy sweet treats that aren't heavily flavored on sugar, this bubble waffle duo should be right up your alley. Options for the waffle are original, ube, and chocolate, and they have 2 cream dips to choose from: Puff Cream and Salted Cheese (cream cheese, I assume for both). I definitely need to start venturing out of my usual order, but for now, I'm pleased with what I get :) Drinks are priced around $7-8 each, with no option for size. Boba, jelly, and toppings are mostly additionally charged, so if you're the type to like a variety, you'll probably be spending almost $10 a pop. Service is reasonably paced, but always short-staffed in my opinion. Sugar level for 100% is INTENSE, so if you're not the type to like that deathly sweet punch, you might want to adjust your sweetness down to 50-75% or so. Drinks we've sampled thus far: Milk Tea w/ boba & salted cheese foam Mango Yakult Smoothie (100% is too sweet) Strawberry Lemon Slushy (100% is too sweet) Regardless, everything we've tried so far have been happily enjoyed by all. Drinks and waffles were flavorful and I'd say we always left satisfied. Couple things to note: don't let your waffle steam in the packaging because they tend to get soggy pretty quickly. If you can sit and eat it while it's fresh and hot, I recommend definitely doing that! Also, bring cash if you know you ain't leaving Ala Moana without Happy Lemon because 4/6 times I've ordered here, their credit card machine was down. I purchased the mango green tea with mango boba drink and it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and very refreshing. It went well with all the jellies that were added. They have a few benches and tables on the inside where you can eat at. I hate to say it, but the place was filthy. There were crumbs and cheese foam all over the benches and tables. We couldn't even sit down. I saw a rag on the counter and wiped everything down myself. I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't. Thank you to the wonderful, fantastic, and all-around-amazing Terry K for inviting me to Happy Lemon during my visit! There was a steady line when we arrived, but it moved quickly. I decided to try the "H7": the dragon fruit lemon slushy. Ordering went very smoothly and I was able to use the cashless payment system. Since there were many orders ahead of us, we sat at the little tables inside to chat. While we waited, it was amazing to see how they carefully made everything by hand, including brewing batches of tea to precise temperatures and freshly squeezing juices. When our order was called, we were provided with our drinks, covered by a thin layer of plastic sticky wrap, which we could easily puncture with our straws. (The plastic "lid"helps to prevent spills when walking around!) The slushy was so flavorful and you could see the pieces of real dragon fruit throughout the drink without it being chunky. The drink had a nice balance of tartness and sweetness. I also really enjoyed the vibrant color. (I liked this drink so much that I returned a few days later to get another one!) First time at this location and most likely won't be my last. It's not often that I venture down to Ala Moana Shopping Center but in the future now when I do this will be one of my regular stops! This location is next door to Cinnabon in the center stage food court. There was limited seating inside the small bright shop but plenty of more seating options in the food court itself. I was pleasantly surprised by the strawberry green tea with delicious fresh strawberry chunks and refreshingly sweet green tea. I ordered it with 100% sweetness to get the taste of how they intended the drink to be. In the future I would order it less sweet. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a guest in Happy Lemon YEW event and treated to a free drink and bubble waffle, which were also amazing and reviewed on their event highlights page. I ordered a puff cream dipping sauce to go with my bubble waffle for a $1 charge. I was told that it was supposed to be a sweet custard but what I got was more of a salty creamed butter (which I didn't mind, lol) but I can't help but wonder if they accidentally gave me the salted cheese dip. Either way it was yummy! I want to come back and bring my kids because I know they will enjoy the treats that Happy Lemon has to offer. Came back again a week after my first visit. Ordered the lilikoi lemon slushy and it was tart and refreshing - perfect after lunch. My bf enjoyed my drink more than his (A1 green tea salted cheese). Didn't get a waffle this time but theirs is one of my favorite! read more

This is my first time here. It's a nice bright place with friendly workers advising for first timers how it worker. I ordered the Ube bubble waffle with salted cheese. I like the airy, slight crunch and crispness of the waffle. The salty cheesy gives it a creaminess...like this! A new breakfast item for me! Drink: Jasmine matcha milk tea with boba, 25% sugar...not bad! Jasmine comes through, not overpowering...nice...very nice! Yelpers, you have to try this place ... awesome flavors...Ube!!!
