I had no idea this UrbanSpace dinning hall even existed but I just happened upon it and walked in. There are about a dozen food stalls and Happy Lobster is tucked in the far back corner and seems to have a constant flow of customers. The guy taking orders was super friendly and talked me into the full sized "Angry" Lobster Sandwich that comes with seasoned fries ($26) which means it has a spicy mayo and giardieneria mixed in with the chunks of lobster over a toasted brioche bun. It was satisfying and definitely hit the spot for my tastebuds but just not as filling as I expected. Given the rising costs of literally everything these days, I do feel this is a fair price for lobster. A nice sit down restaurant in the City would charge $35-$40 for a similarly portioned meal. I'd definitely come back. In fact, I'd like to try the grilled cheese lobster sandwich ($18) next time. The UrbanSpace is on Washington in downtown/Loop and right adjacent to Daley Plaža. This evening is just extra busy because of the Christkindle Market but the space is laid out well and seems to effectively accommodate an endless rotation of people coming through for a grab and go style meal. Happy Lobster is a great place to go for lunch or even if you're feeling some flavorful high quality seafood. You don't see too many places like this in Chicago, that is fast food. I saw them making lobster dishes and sandwiches and it all looked so fresh, surprisingly. A lobster grilled cheese came out before mine and I got mad I didn't pick that instead... haha it was mouth watering from a distance. Cheesy goodness. A bit pricey for my Shrimp PoBoy ($15) but the experience was worth it. Good service with a smile too. Pleasantly surprised by the flavor, but terribly disappointed by the serving size/cost. I ordered the "junior" lobster roll, so I knew it would be on the smaller side, but even with the chips and coleslaw (which was quite lackluster), it's hard to justify the price. Happy Lobster was my selection when I recently visited the new Urbanspace food hall. I will admit that the lobster roll I had was absolutely delicious. However, at $22 for the roll, a bag of kettle chips and small cup of vinegar coleslaw, I find the price not fully worth it. The coleslaw was absolutely not that great. This is my second time at The Happy Lobster, and I was very pleased with my experience both times! I had the lobster grilled cheese, which was very tasty and had generous helpings of lobster on the sandwich also! The fries are seasoned well, and are crinkle cut. I had the angry lobster roll the first time I was there and it was also pretty good! The only thing I would say is that it was a pretty small roll if you are really hungry. The price is out of this world $24.00 for a lobster roll and a bag of chips and a tiny thing of disgusting coleslaw. The lobster roll was just not good at all in taste it was tasteless or should I say not good taste at all. I could not finish it and eighter could my husband. We threw out our $60.00 some with water dinners and left. I could not get that taste out of my mouth and brushed my teeth and still woke up with this weird taste in my mouth. Got the lobster Mac and cheese and the chowder. The Mac and cheese was bad- unclear if the lobster was past its freshness date or what but the fact I'm even questioning if the lobster was spoiled is bad. We didn't even finish half of it. Bisque was slightly better but weird? Again something tasted not right but this time it seemed to be the cream or sherry or whatever they put in. It had a very strong flavor that seemed off. My feelings are soo hurt, on April 14,2022 I ran across an advertisement saying the happy lobster truck would be in my area that weekend. I was soo excited I ordered and paid for my food that Thursday, in preparation for me to pick up my food that Saturday. The unthinkable happened, sat came and went, I looked up and Sunday afternoon was here when I first thought about the food . I immediately started looking for a phone number to contact someone. Unbeknown to me the only available contact was an email address which I emailed them, letting them know about my mishap and requesting a refund. Well I received a response back almost a week later from KEN MCCORMICK ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT replying that they don't give refunds. And that he would be happy to give me a credit on the same order when they came back to that location the next month. I was fine with that, soo this time I set a reminder in my calendar as to the next time they would be in my area. A day or soo I sent them an email saying that I saw that they would be in my area and i would like to pick up my food when they came and could someone please reply to my email as to how to go about doing that, because I didn't want to go there and get sent away because they wasn't aware of me coming. Well needless to say, I never received a reply. I have sent several emails with not 1 reply since the first original reply of saying that I could get a credit. Ughhhh I know it was my fault that I forgot but KEN MCCORMICK said I could get a credit and come and get my food, and that's all I want to do. Please someone help me, I don't want to throw away $45 and it was a harmless mistake. I will never preorder food again to pick up at a later date. read more
