Came in for happy hour for the oysters. The oysters were so scrumptious! They did not skimp on size even though it was a HH deal. I also tried their burger slider and it was so yummy. It'd love to come back and try the burger on the regular menu because the slider felt like such a good sample! The meat was cooked perfectly and the pickles + sauce used was great. I opted to grab the bubbles on HH and enjoyed it. The bartenders and host were both really nice. It was easy to snag a bar seat. The whole place was so cutely decorated for Christmas and the Christmas music in the background was a nice touch to feel the holiday spirit.

The food was very good. I had the Branzino which was cooked perfectly! It is so buttery and delicious, melt in your mouth!! The whipped potatoes underneath were a nice complement to such a mouth watering plate! Love the addition of capers as well. Boyfriend had the Steamed Red Snapper and was very happy with his choice. We considered doing the Crispy Asian Snapper for Two, but decided on trying two separate plates instead of sharing. We did see the Snapper for Two at a nearby table and it did look pretty amazing! I also noticed they had enough to take home leftovers as well! We chose the caviar deviled eggs for an app, and I'm just a sucker for caviar deviled eggs. Our sake was called Dreamy Clouds. It was a nice compliment to our fish. Very light taste but had a nice heavy body as well. We came here on a Saturday night around 7 I believe and actually found a place to sit and eat without a wait. Every other place we wanted to try had a long wait or needed prior reservations. The ambiance is dark and moody but with a delicate feminine touch. Our server was knowledgeable and very nice.

Delicious blue point oysters. The sushi looked great, too! Service was great, didn't feel rushed. I love the funky art on the walls. Great deal on happy hour oysters.

4.75 stars... For starters I parked in a lot nearby for cheaper than street cost. Less than 1 min walk. We came for happy hour than dinner... Happy hour blue point oysters were delicious. Very fresh, clean, and good price. The happy hour prosecco and house red was not ideal for my taste buds. The deviled eggs with caviar was also delicious you get 3 pieces (1.5 eggs). Then we switched to the dining room for dinner. The service is exceptional We had a new guy in training he was so fun and professional. The menu was cute ... More Appetizers... Mussels and clams chowder. I'm picky about my clam chowder and it was tasty and not too thin. Had potato and more clam than most places. The mussels were cooked perfectly with a good wine butter sauce. I had branzino it was the perfect crisp on the cooking. The potatoes and spinach was nicely seasoned. My friend had the crispy Asian snapper for two. A beautiful fish plated wonderfully. With veggies and crispy fried rice that was also very good and this portion was large enough for three people even though they say two. Drinks... The double espresso martini was delicious The shochu purple and plum was nice and strong. Definitely had some left overs. The wait staff was even funny and professional.

Stopped in for a few appetizers to check this place out. Ordered the happy hour shrimp tempura and a dozen oysters. The shrimp was VERY good! The portion for happy hour was small but it packed a ton of flavor.

What can't I say about this place! All the food and drinks were spectacular! The staff was very kind and knowledgeable with drinks and the menu. We started with the crispy rice and spicy tuna, a common dish but Lures' made it so fresh- it just tasted so good. We also ordered the salmon tiradito, lobster roll, lobster Mac n cheese, and fried rice. Everything was delicious, but the fried rice was the sleeper of the night... it was so flavorful and maybe a commonly a slept on dish by other customers. Lastly, the aesthetic of the place was very pleasing and beautifully decorated. Can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back!

If I could, I'd give this place a 10! The service was outstanding, the food absolutely amazing, and the seating area was beautiful. We truly enjoyed every moment we spent here. It may be a fish bar, but their ravioli was superb--highly recommend!

Had a great Chicago Restaurant Week lunch here! Unfortunately you only get to choose 2 of the 3 courses on the restaurant week menu (with several options for all courses), but fortunately I was able to split food with someone and try an appetizer, entree and dessert! Started off with a yummy lobster bisque (that isn't offered on their regular menu). The sesame-crusted tuna salad had a nice dressing and was very fresh. The dessert was the highlight--matcha panna cotta was so delicious (also not on their regular menu)! Everything about the place feels high-end and photogenic. Nice and friendly service!

Tried the restaurant week lunch and loved it! Great ambience inside. I had the lobster bisque pan-roasted chicken. Both were well-flavored and had great portions, especially the chicken! My friend got the salmon tartare and winter mushroom bucatini, also so delicious! The bucatini was a little hard and oily. Overall, all the food was very well flavored and great service. Will be coming back to try more!

Was here for a quick bite and made it in time for happy hour-- the bluepoint oysters were fresh and succulent-- as fresh as they come, and the salmon avocado roll was also spot on. I had to try the turf option of slider and enjoyed that too. Friendly fast service at the high top next to the bar. It's next to the museum hotel, whose lobby is that. I'll be back for dinner!

Pretty nice atmosphere very elaborate menu. I'd say a little on the pricey side, but what seafood isn't. My favorite thing was the Bronzino. And the Maki rolls worth all the money.

Two thing cinched it for me: this amazing wine and the horrible service. I heard one of the bartenders bragging about how their boss called them for a supposed wine festival because they thought it would be busiest than it turned out to be. That may be so, but I had to ask for every glass of wine and even to order while others were served around me. The hostess staff were impeccable though. I will say, the mussels were fabulous and this pink tinted pinot grigio is absolutely going on my wine list. It is a very relaxing environment. You can stop in for a quick glass or two of wine or for a fancy dinner.

Lobster roll. It's a cold lobster roll but that was fine with me. It comes with chips but I asked for fries.

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

It's all about the views!…read more Miru is one of the newer sushi restaurants relatively uncompetitive sushi scene in Chicago, and it hits the spots for those interested in classy ambience and jaw dropping views. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. The 20 courses were well-paced and the quality was consistent throughout. Nigiri and sashimi were pristine, but the hot dishes were equally impressive, which surprised me. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect.
