Definitely NOT the white nails with gold tips I asked for. Tacky and ugly!

I was paired with Mindy today and pretty clear about what I wanted with my nails today, which was a white nail with a gold tip. I think the language barrier here is pretty tough, and I even questioned her a couple of times in the beginning to make sure she understood what I wanted. She didn't even let me pick from the nail colors that they usually offer, she just said I'm gonna do them how I think you want them. I was very skeptical, because what I wound up with is a natural nail with a copper orange glitter tip. My nails are so damn tacky and I don't have time to redo them before vacation. I have been coming here for several months, and never had an issue with the other nail techs. I usually see Jack and another lady who have done beautiful nails. However, Mindy is not capable of understanding what I wanted. She never once asked me if I liked them or anything, and when I told her that's not what I asked for, she did not offer to redo them at all because she had another client waiting. And she was rather pissed off with me for not liking them, which I thought was pretty rude. I am going to have to find a different nail salon, because this is just unacceptable.

If I could leave zero stars I would, worse nail experience ever and I get my nails done a lot. I asked for the first picture below and got the second one and when they coudnt do the design, the tree looked like a 2 year old scribble it I asked her just to do all one color and she did I different blue. Also charged me 70$ for this set at most salons where they actually do good work it's 65$ for longer and better service and quality. I learned my lesson never go back!!!! Also the whole staff had an attitude the vibe was horrible

CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY 3/10 (generously given) NAILS 10/10 This is my second review for Happy Nails, and it's less cheerful than the first one. Make no mistake, Kim did a phenomenal job on my nails, but let's get into it. I knew it would be a busy week, so I called on Monday afternoon to make my appointment for today, Friday at 11:00am. I showed up at 10:51 seeing Kim just starting on a client. I picked out my color and at 11:00am I asked Kim, "Are you running behind today Kim?" She responded and told me to come back in an hour. If I didn't have two young children (one still breastfeeding) this wouldn't bother me as much because it was my first experience like this at Happy Nails. I reminded her that I made my appointment 4 days ago, and at 11:15am someone else wrapped my nails (I get SNS Dip). 11:45am rolls around and Kim finally starts on my nails. Nearly 1:00pm she finished and told me it would be $60.00. I said, "Why is it so much this time??" and she asked me, "What did you pay last time?" while she was laughing. I told her that the last TWO times it was only $50.00 - I had to get one tip put on my first experience here, my last visit I had two tips put on, and this time I had one tip put on. Her response? "$55.00 today then" I just shrugged, and gave her $60.00. I typically tip generously anyway, so I am used to spending $60, it's just a shame when it cuts into her tip. As I was walking out the door Kim wrote me a coupon for $5.00, so in my head I can't help but think that she knows she overcharged me?? Very weird. I will go back again, and make an appointment, and see what the experience and cost are like before I decide to continue to make Happy Nails my go-to.

Same review - just added more pictures to show the damage - do not go to happy nails if you want to be treated like a liar if your nails are damaged they will say it's your fault and not theirs. - replying to the owner...I have been doing my nails since the 90s- however, I haven't had dip, acrylic or gel in a VERY long time. I got dip three weeks ago from one of your other technicians and my nails were in perfect condition. So either that tech or this one damaged them. Don't worry, you won't need to refuse me service, I won't be back.

I've came here so many time! This morning I came to get the acrylic removed from my toe nails. I was charged for a full pedicure that I didn't receive. The lady continues hurt my toe nail removing the acrylic with nail clippers instead of using acetone; like I asked multiple times for her to do. One of my toes nail bed is pink from her using her drill on it so hard. The acrylic is still not removed! She was intentionally trying to hurt me. I could tell she was getting frustrated when I kept on asking her over and over to remove the acrylic the proper way and she refused. I become upset and just asked her to stop she was hurting me. read more

This was my first and last time coming here. It's a beautiful establishment - unfortunately, that's about the only thing this salon has going for it. Pedicure was sub-par, it felt rushed. They didn't even paint my entire nail - at least half of my toes have completely bare, unpainted sides! Nails were trimmed to uneven lengths. Fingernails have three different shapes going on. And after only four days, the gel is already chipping off!! All this, and I was overcharged by $15! Unbelievable. read more

I had a mani, pedi today and happen to get in right away (my first time there.). Kim, and my agents were remarkable. They listened to what I wanted and worked to get it done thoroughly. I really wanted this to be a positive post but after my experience, I unfortunately cannot say anything great about this place. Except that their decor is cute? 1. We called before we went in to see what their prices were before driving to the other side of town. We were given a different price over the phone than when we arrived in person. They argued with us about it, even accusing me of not hearing correctly. Very poor customer service from the beginning. If we had known the correct pricing we would not have driven to the other side of town. 2. The massage was great but when she went to paint my toes the color she applied was a different color than was on the nail sample swatch. It was not her fault, whoever did inventory messed that up. It was not a huge deal but what made it a huge deal was her instant change in attitude & work ethic and trying to convince me that it was the same color only to realize it wasn't a little while later. At this point I was ready to leave. I did not need a manicure & pedicure this bad. 3. Things seemed to be better. I was kind, thanked her for being patient and I thought things were good. Even after the first 2 things, I was still going to leave a nice review because things happen. It is part of life. Being in the service industry myself, I get that. However, once we got into the car I started looking at my nails and it was a completely botched job. There are bubbles in my nail polish, missed spots, etc. So to sum up this experience... Terrible customer service. The nail graphics requested did not look good and I wish they told us their limitations before they started. LOL now it's just a semi-funny memory in our minds. My manicure was ruined before we left the place. I don't want to get into the whole story but basically it was their fault my manicure was ruined (creases and smudges) which they admitted. I felt they should've taken the price of my manicure off the bill which I had to argue through. I was really surprised they didn't understand. There are also some major communication issues... *another side note, I asked for glitter on my nails and she didn't do it. After she put on the coating I asked her what happened to the glitter and then she looks at me and says "too late" LOL Terrible experience. Unhappy with Happy Nails.... read more

Kim, Maee, Thy, Mindy the whole bunch... are awesome techs. They always take time and do not make me feel rushed (so they can get the next person). The sns manicure lasts 2-3 weeks. It's better to make an appointment so they even out their day but not necessary. read more

The people are very friendly however, they damaged my nails and I'm still in pain. I went in to have my acrylics removed and replaced. The woman doing my nails did not soak them in acetone and file them down as is always done but instead pulled my acrylic nails off by peeling my nail away from the acrylic. She put an new acrylic nail in between my nail and my acrylic by wedging it under the nail, stripping layers of my nail away. I stopped her and said that this was damaging my nails and that it hurt, and she said that this is how it is done and continued. I should have simply stopped, but I felt like maybe I was in the wrong. I did a lot of research and it is not recommended to ever remove acrylics this way. Either she was in a rush or does not know how to appropriately remove acrylics. I spent $140 here. Very disappointed. read more

I have very sensitive skin and is allergic to the white cuticle solution that they used for manicures & pedicures. Most places that I've gone to after I informed them about my allergy give me an attitude! I've gotten my nails done since the 90's so I know the solution helps remove the cuticle faster. Tracy, after I told her, gladly substitute it with lotion. She did a great job on my pedicure! Finally, found a place closer to home that I can trust! It's only my first time, but I will be back. Definitely give them a chance if you are in the neighborhood! read more

Had these done yesterday afternoon. Look like globs. Horrible. Was given a hard time and a hard sell for 'dip nails' $40 and I'm very upset that I tipped them. My daughter took her polish off immediately and I'll be taking mine off today. So thick that they hurt. read more

I'm so sad that this place wasn't better. It seemed so good from the good reviews, but they weren't. I had come in and the wait was about 30 minutes, the chairs to wait are right where the sun is beating in so it gets a bit toasty. This place is TINY AND TIGHT! I came here only for a pedicure and thank goodness that was all. Sadly I flushed about $70 down the drain for it. My nail tech hardly said one word to me, and my toenails ended up cracked and splitting and my feet were just horrible afterwards. They all hold their noses up high and honestly I will never come back nor recommend this place. Lots of other options in the area. read more

I decided I was going to start getting my nails done for myself and tried a few different salons for dip. I found this salon and it has been a great experience each time! Anna does a fabulous job, listens and can do anything I show her. Bee is great as well. I am sure the others are great as each time I'm in there I chat with the others and they all love their technicians. I highly recommend! read more

Let me say I am a regular visitor to DS and have been to Happy Nails a few times. I was well satisfied each time. I have very rough dry skin on my feet and get a pedicure for that reason. My pedicure was rushed and although all steps were included, it was done with "a lick and a promise". Cuticles around nails are still hard and not smooth. I won't be visiting here again. read more

I just visiting here. So darn expensive!!! Oh Thank you for Houston! I mean I get the same thing for basic pedi $15. With all the care, massage. Etc. The gel mani is $25. With massage too. $40 total. There is so much wrong with this place I just cannot begin to tell you. First off it's a hard upsell from a regular pedicure and manicure to a aromatherapy pedicure. Just if I should just say the nail tech was in such a hurry it was a miserable experience. I paid for assault scrub that I don't remember getting a leg massage that I absolutely did not get aromatherapy and relaxation that neither me or my friend could smell. And then when the whole disastrous manicure pedicure was over I was supervised by two people to see how much tip I was going to leave. Overall it sucked I will never go back. read more

This was my first visit to this salon and unfortunately I won't be returning. In the process of taking off my previous polish the lady removing it got a little rough and cut the side of my toe. A day later and I now have a very painful toe infection. I'll be seeing my doctor due to this, but was very disappointed this happened. I went for a relaxing "day for me" and ended up with a very painful infection. read more

I had just had a horrible SNS job done at a salon in Austin and told Kim as much when she answered the phone at Happy Nails. Told her I was shopping for a new salon and an experienced SNS nail person. She said she would do for me and set the appt. I've had acrylic and/or SNS nails since 1991 and this is the best nail job I've had in many, many years. They look so natural and I've had 3 serious compliments on them (including one from my granddaughter) in less than a week of having them done. I've attached some pics. Don't look at the old raggedy hands. Just concentrate on the nails. Kim is my new nail tech and Happy Nails my new salon! read more

Very detail oriented, light and airy salon. Very clean and nicely decorated. Tech was well trained and paid attention to whatever I asked. I always have trouble with hangnails, and usually the the tech can't be bothered to get it all out but this one did. So happy as these can be an enormous nuisance. I walked in at 10:01am and left at 10:41am with no services started on me. Two ppl walked in AFTER me 35 min after I arrived and they were put in a chair immediately. I understand one had an appt. but the other didn't. I needed my nails to be soaked off. They didn't even offer to start soaking my nails so that it would make the service go faster once I set in the chair. So I left and went to Le Nails Spa and they set me in a chair and started soaking my nails off as soon as I walked in the door. I WILL NEVER GO TO HAPPY NAILS AGAIN! read more

It took 3 different employees to do a clean job and it is still not great. They kept telling me 'gel looks better' although I did not want or ask for gel, just regular paint. You should be able to paint white nails, that's your job. I had the lady put a fake nail on my broken nail, the way she filed it, it's now crooked and it points inward. I definitely will not be returning.

On the day of my appointment I drove up and parked. When I walked in Leslie was working on another clients hair. She addressed me and let me know that she was a little behind schedule. I let her know it wasn't a problem and I waited about 25 minutes. After sitting in the chair I told her what I wanted and she did an excellent job cutting my hair. Straight across here" I said "well you asked so I'm just telling you. Everyone cuts it crooked". To top it off, they ask you how much you want to tip. Let me just type it in myself. I HATE having to say it outloud. I told her and it added on a convenience fee. Very inconvenient for me to have to pay a fee to tip. Definitely will not be back. Edit to add that I'm aware the "convenience fee" doesn't go to the tech, that's not my issue. My issue is an unexpected, added fee regardless of how large or small.

I leave Happy Nails in a daze of bliss. I've seen Tina twice now for pedicures and I cannot tell you enough about how amazing she is. Not only does she strive for perfection on my toes (I can be quite picky) but she gives the absolute BEST leg and foot massage I have ever gotten from a nail place. There are other nail salons closer to my house but I will drive the extra mile or two to Happy Nails and Spa! First of all the place is super clean and beautiful and everyone is so nice. I did not have to wait long at all, and I was pleasantly surprised with how knowledgeable and careful my nail technician was. I can't wait to go back for a pedicure later this week. read more

Wow... the worst. The worker that was napping on the message chair woke up and took her cranky out on me. She was rude and obviously unhappy about her job. She rushed thru the process and I regret coming here. She literally turned off my message chair and said "later" ummm... what?! I'm a paying customer! This was the worst experience ever.
