The place wasn't busy and I got right in, which was good, but the entire pedicure was rushed, and although there was nobody in the salon but me, they hurried to get my flip flops on and ruined the polish. Frustrated, they removed the polish on both big toes, and repainted them with my foot still in the flip flop, so I wound up leaving with wet nails and spots of polish on my toes. read more

My experience here has me swearing of having a pedicure Ever again. The massage was painful and I repeatedly asked her to be gentle. She was moving Way too quickly when trimming the cuticles on my feet, she cut into the skin of my big toe... THEN PEELED it. The inner skin... I gritted my teeth and went with it, again asking her to be careful. Made it through a painful, brisk massage, done by the tech who seemed to have no idea how to give one and did weird, random movements. It would have been comical if i wasn't near tears. My toe was bleeding when I got home. Two days later, I had an infection in my toe. A couple weeks later and I have lost a quarter of my nail, I'm still in pain, and I cannot wear normal shoes. I'm so angry, and really wish I had just walked out. My friend beside me had a fine experience, and it was obvious that her tech new what she was doing. read more

This is my second time coming. First time everything was fine, I did get cut in my cuticle but the color was great shaping was great. Today was my second time and I will more than likely not come back. I got cut 3 times, one of which would not stop bleeding so she attempted to put super glue on it! I picked a color which ended up being way lighter than anticipated (my fault I thought) so I just went with it. When finished and walking out 3 of my nails has visible bubbles in it went back in and had her fix it, she sanded and went to put clear on it when clearly one bubble was still there so I stopped her. Everything felt rushed, my nails didn't fully cure under the light. Once home I was lookin through their colors (I had taken a picture the first time I went) and the color I selected s16 is clearly not the color on my nails! Very disappointing. read more

I went into Happy Nails for the first time for a French manicure and what I got was far from it. There was a lot of disagreement between what I wanted and what they wanted to give me. They were not very professional or helpful. They made me feel inferior in my request for a "full set acrylic french manicure with a natural shaping." I had to frequently go over what I wanted while getting my nails done. They would just laugh and disregard what I said. I was not happy with the price I paid for these nails or the quality of service I was given. I will definitely not be revisiting this salon. Do not recommend. Save your money & go elsewhere. It was by far the worst salon experience that I've had in 20 years. read more

This place was hoppin. On that note it was filthy. Employees were hopping from one to another client. I had 4 different people for mani/pedi/wax. Very unorganized. I kept having to wait while they found tools, one lady even went outside and came back with clippers. Not sure if they went to the one down the strip or what? I was over charged by $20, they had a $35 mani/pedi and a $15 wax and I was charged $67! We were getting wedding nails so I didn't even notice until later. My nail polish is already peeling off my toes and the shellac on my fingers has a few chips already. For selling it to me that they last longer, I'm not impressed. I think I would find someplace else if I were to come back to the island for nails. Parking is in an older strip mall and is kind of all over the place. One bathroom inside. Just moved to Oak Harbor from AZ and boy am I glad I found this place. Joy is super nice and very talented! Detail oriented, takes her time to get the job done right. Their technique is different but satisfactory. I really enjoyed my time here. Maybe next time I'll get a pedicure done as well! Vast selection of colors to choose from! Comfy little joint. I asked to get a full set done with a ballerina nail shape- but as Joy referee to it "Skinny Coffin" and it turned out great! Another plus is that I like how they thin out the top and don't make it so bulky looking. Allot of other places where I've asked for it to be thin, they give me a reason as to why it should be bulkier. ----It looks more "natural" or "then they break too easy" and I'm just here to get my nails done the way I like. I received a dip powder manicure today for $40 and she did an amazing job making the color even and smooth (if you've ever had dip powder you know sometimes it can get bubbly or one side of your nail can have a higher ridge). She also really knew what she was doing with a nail file, and didn't hurt my fingers in the process of shaping them PERFECTLY! The salon was kept extremely clean and they followed proper safety precautions for covid-19. The only reasons I wouldn't give a 5 star is because there wasn't a lot of attention to cuticle trimming or making sure the previous color I had on was well cleaned off, and it did not include a massage which would typically be included at other salons. However, if I wasn't just visiting the area, I would definitely return to this salon again! Overall very happy!! read more

I got a gel manicure on Sunday night & by Wednesday three have chipped and 2 have peeled off. Such a disappointment :(

They did amazing!! They were clean and health conscious, and so friendly. My mom and I went after a month of doing our nails ourself in quarantine and they were totally awful to try and get off and they did an awesome job painlessly removing our busted nails. They then did an awesome job with a full set with a design. Tons of colors and designs to choose from, they have everything you could imagine!! They also have bottles of water which my mom definitely appreciated it was an hour and a half drive and totally worth it!! I will definitely be coming back read more

I normally go to this place for pedicure as I like how they did good for foot spa. I don't have a specific person to do my manicure or pedicure,but this time it was 2 staff was there and me and my boyfriend wants a pedicure. It's just us the customer.while they're doing the pedicure.there is one customer came wanted to do her nails.but since it was only 2 staff .they both rushing their work to us until we are not satisfied how they did to our toenails.not even do clean our toes.you can tell they are both rushing for 1 customer came. This place was pretty good. My wife and I went mid day today and they were still pretty full. My experience overall was great, I came in for a pedicure and was seated in a chair immediately. My only problem was they left me there for about 45 minutes while they tended to everyone else which caused me to run out of things to search on the internet. I don't frequent nail Sailors much so I'm not sure if that is common. Once the nail tech arrived however it was nothing short of magical. I feel like I have 2 brand new feet, the way she took her time while cutting and scrubbing was what the doctor ordered. Aaaaand what was more amazing is there was no hidden fees! My experience here was not good from the start. The man at the door asked me what I wanted which was to remove the acrylics and keep my real nails because they were long enough to paint over them. He said ok and was rushing me to sit down. I sat down and he started taking them off using the nail drill. Then I picked a color and I told him I wanted regular nail polish. He said "yeah yeah ok" and then he brought out acrylic stuff to apply acrylic nails and at this point I had to stop him. I kindly reminded him what I asked for. He looked at me trying to convince me to get it and I said no. Then he looked a bit upset and asked me to sit elsewhere. He called another girl up and started working on her nails. Then an older lady came out and soaked my nails. Once the acrylic came off she started shaping them and left them crooked and uneven. She was talking in her language and the other guy was too. Then I asked to use the nail filer and shape some of my nails and then she snatched the nail filer from me and continued to file my nails. At this point I was too upset to even say anything anymore. She filed them very short and not the shape I wanted. I zoned out after this because of how upset I felt inside. Then she used gel when I asked for normal polish! Now I have to go damage my nails again under some fucking acetone to take this shit off. I'm just so pissed off. I paid 40$ for something I DIDN'T even want!!! I give myself props for not going off on them because I could have. I do not recommend this spot if you want nail designs that YOU WANT. Because they're quick to TELL YOU WHAT YOU'LL GET! read more

I have been going to Island/Happy Nails for a while now. I have had Tammy(the owner) and Vi both do my nails. I usually only go to Vi only because she is a Military Spouse like I am, I like to support other spouses, and we have good conversation. She is so down to earth and does an amazing job. She takes her time, always does her very best with my nail art requests, and will fix anything I'm not satisfied with. 10/10 for Vi. Worst manicure and service I have ever experienced. First off she began working on my nails with a table that was filthy with dust from the previous customer. When she realized this she swept it of with a brush. After filing my nails she then used THE SAME BRUSH to dust my hands off. When clipping my cuticles she WAS NOT clipping them but was tapping my finger with the tool. I saw that the tool was not opening and closing. I chose a pastel yellow color for my nails. When she began I commented on the color because it was not the same yellow I picked out. She then told me "no, it's the lighting." Unsanitary and unprofessional. Not worth it ladies!! read more

Went in today 7/22/2018 around 1200 with 2 of my friends, we all got the deluxe pedicure ($35 vs regular pedicure at $25). My pedicure was done by an older lady and was started 10-15 minutes after my friends, and my pedicure finished before theirs (despite starting later). At this point I realized I didn't get a leg/foot massage, or if I did, it was very minimal compared to what my friends got. At checkout I bought this up to the lady (same lady who did my pedicure) and she denied not giving me a massage and instead insisted she did and that I must have forgotten. I think I would remember getting a massage. Very poor customer service, and I felt degraded that she fought me on the massage. My friend even spoke up and said she didn't see me get a massage but the lady denied and insisted I did. -**** 7/23 manager contacted me and apologized for the woman's behavior. This is my first time here since I moved from the East Coast. I came on a Tuesday and it was completely empty which I thought was great. I got the worst pedicure and manicure of my life. The lady doing my pedicure cut my toe nail way too short and she didn't even do my cuticles nor did she take off extra skin around the side of the toe nails. I told her to please take off the extra skin around the nails and that my toe nail was way too short. She got very upset and told me, "no comment". She barely even touch the bottom of my feet. I got a Deluxe pedicure and gel manicure a week ago. The pedicure lasted 15 minutes, and she was incredibly rushed. The nails look decent, but I definitely didn't get my money worth. My gel manicure was awful. She didn't let it cure completely between coats, and a week later the polish is pulling up very bad on all my nails. They look like I did them two or three weeks ago. Polish was also quite sloppy. There was an upset customer from the waxing room also, because they waxed her eyebrows crooked. Please avoid this place. First (and last) time customer, I went in for a much needed pedicure and had an experience I would not recommend. I will say my review is based on the man that gave the pedicure, I cannot speak for the other employees at this business. Not only did this man preform a mostly incomplete job for the "deluxe" package but the whole process was quite uncomfortable, to the point he broke skin on my toe causing a cut. If that wasn't bad enough he had a button up shirt that didn't quite cover his stomach and continued to make skin to skin contact with his stomach and my toes... no thank you! read more
