I've been here multiple times in an attempt to get a gift certificate, only to be told that nobody there knows how to do a gift certificate. This is horrible customer service, and poor management. This is getting 5 stars because I like Tina's work ethic. Tina is very meticulous and careful. She paid really close attention to my feet and gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever received since I've been to this establishment. I came at a time when it wasn't busy so I'm sure it played a part but she is very neat. She doesn't talk much, very quiet and professional (the way I prefer). Few things to note, 1. They need to replace that soggy couch in the front where people are waiting to be served. Sorry, I had to say it lol. 2. Overall the establishment is neat, but I do feel their sanitary practices could be a tad bit better like any other nail salon. 3. It's better to come in the morning, if possible. 4. I'm not a fan of the space used for massages. It's giving very much so storage space turned it to a lab room. I can't relax in there. Feels cranky and dingy. 5. There is one particular employee that loves wearing mini skirts and she is quite fashionable. I was in a jam, pressed for time and my nails desperately needed a fix, so I opted to get a polish change (ONLY). I would say that they did a less than mediocre job AT BEST! The first thing that I noticed after the nail tech finished was that the side of multiple nails were missing polish. Also, one of my nails had a bubbled look. So I told the nail tech, and she applied more polish, which resulted w/some of my nails being darker (due to having an extra coat). She also carelessly got polish on one of my fingers and failed to (even try to) get it off... At that point, I just didn't even say anything. The nail tech next to me seemed to do a great job on her lady... I guess it's just the luck of the draw....and my luck had run out. Or it could have been the fact that the lady next to me got a full set of acrylics plus designs on all 10 fingers, so she paid at least $50, while I paid $8.... So it could just be that money talks.....and my lil' $8 wasn't motivating enough to get top quality service. Anyway, I sat about 20 minutes to let my nails dry, then carefully drove home (approx 20 min)... No nail mess-ups while going home. I sat around the house for a few and then went to bed. So I would say that a good 50-55 minutes passed from the time my nails were polished to the time I hit the sack. The next morning, ALL of my nails were smudged. Apparently my nails had not completely dried, which was utterly ridiculous that they were not dry in almost an hour. Immediately my mind jumped back to the moment when the tech put the top coat on and I remembered how old and decrepit the top coat polish bottle looked, but I didn't pay it any mind... Now I usually run in for a quick pedi or to fix a broke nail on a set that's easy to match. But today I ran in wanting a take off - full set and in a rush. However, It wasn't a reasonable and YEN (nail tech) let me know that. She told me she could revive what I already had on my nails (fix two broken nails - filed down the thickness - cut them shorter & a fill).... She did everything in about 45 mins, my nails look MUCH BETTER! It's like a whole new set now! Okuuurt YEN! I was pleased with this being my first time trusting them to do my nails completely. I decided to go to this nail salon because a few friends mentioned how talented Mimi is. Her work is amazing, however they did mention to me that she is always late and can be rude. I decided to give her a try anyway because I loved her work so much. Every time I had an appointment with Mimi, she was LATE and never offered an apology. I started to call prior to my appointments to ask if she'd be available at my scheduled time because as a customer I do not want to wait an additional 30 minutes for an appointment I've previously scheduled. Each time I would call she would insist she'd be on time. Not only was she late for all of my appointments, but she was rude and nasty. Speaking to me with an attitude, huffing and muffing every time I wanted her to fix or change something. She completely lacks customer service. I've never displayed rude behavior towards her despite how she treated me so I decided to take my hard earned money elsewhere. He goes outside towards the back to smoke... 15 mins later, I'm still standing at the desk waiting...So I asked ,is she still in the bathroom? This was not good customer service. He(the owner), said no she is crying and won't come to help you and I said No to helping you too.Then I was yelled by the owner, indicating that he declined for her to do my lashes and to go... He stated, that he had theright to deny me service... I couldn't understand why , I was being treated that way. I was calm, professional and never got loud nor yelled...it made no sense...Then they, including Vivian, proceed to talk in their native language in front of me, which was total disrespect, while adding others into the conversation and was being stare down... When I would try to talk or explain, I would get cut off and yelled at which was not fair at all. I'm Good enough to have my money taken for 16+years, then to have the eye lash price changed on me 3 times in 1 month, August ( paid it, inspite of unfair communication), but , I'm but not good enough to get/explain an alternative for sensitive reactions from their glue brand used...i'm appalled and shocked... I've been doing business here with this company, old and new shops for over 16 years... I'm disappointed ...May God have mercy on your soul! She is not worth the hype and you can find an equally talented nail technician who would offer great customer service without feeling belittled and humiliated!!!! I guess due to her increased popularity, she started a new policy where clients make a deposit via CashApp to make an appointment. Apparently, this deposit is non-refundable if you are late or fail to cancel the appointment in 24 hours. Bear in mind even with an appointment, Mimi sometimes has you waiting for up to 1.5hours before she attends to you. I don't recall ever arriving to an appointment and serviced on time. I have never been late to my appointment. Today, because of work, I was 30 minutes late for my 6:30pm appointment. I did not call because based on my history with her, she was always attending to other clients at my appointment time. In fact, I figured for the first time she might be ready for me. Imagine my surprise and shock when she was so rude, obnoxious and arrogant to me upon arrival. I apologized for my lateness. She was not having it and almost began to scold me. She indicated that my $20 was non-refundable. To avoid a ruckus, I accepted it and walked away, hoping another nail technician could attend to me. As I turned around, she began talking about me to the two clients she was working on. She kept making rude remarks and not caring that I was still at the shop! At this point, I returned and again demanded my refund. It is one thing to have a non-refund policy. It is another thing to KEEP a client's money for being 30 minutes late and then disrespect them in front of your other clientele. I have never in my life been humiliated. The other nail technicians were of course all in cohort with her and supported her unprofessionalism. They told me there was no manager and there was nothing they could do. I started off with a lady and then a man took over, I guess she had another client ‍?? The way they take off gel polish is a little off to me. Instead of using foil, they make you soak your hand in a plastic bag with cotton at the bottom and acetone --no bueno for your skin. They don't have OPI polish-- which is way better quality than Gelish and actually lasts. The tech kept using his fingernail when he would go outside my actual nail bed. That was a complete disaster! Very beautiful nail salon/spa however customer service is not good at all. Tech left out in between doing my nails for personal business and I had to wait. The workers appeared to be speaking negatively in Korean language about the customers due to their facial expressions towards the customers while talking. Work was ok but charged $30 for my 14 year old daughter's fill in due to nail tech using gel nail polish when I was under the impression the colors he originally showed me was regular nail polish (it was sampled nails and was not marked as gel colors).... very deceitful business practices. If you cannot do a basic mani and pedi, and paint sloppily--here's some advice--YOU NEED TO CLOSE DOWN! I paid for a mani and pedi for my daughter and I. I informed "Tim" that he was supposed to put a white base first, in order for the yellow to pop. He told me I have to tell him in advance, bc not every customer wants that. Excuse me-the color in the bottle is a bright yellow, if the customer chooses it it's because they want it bright!! He needs to learn how to make the most out of his polish! You are the professional Tim--so if you know this, why should I have to tell you?If you know something comes out better, with the right base--you put the right base. He wanted to take shortcuts. Who wants a dull yellow? Anyway, he throws in a cute comment, "We don't know how to read minds." I have an attitude of my own, so I can deal with cute comments so long as you do my nails correctly!! Well my toes are "decent." My nails however--a hot mess! He painted all up on the skin and I had to ask him twice to "clean it up." I basically paid $40 for a job that looks like I did it myself or my teenage daughter did. It is not "professional" looking. I usually go to Blissful and I will continue going to Blissful. Here's why: if you get just a basic mani and pedi together, they take off $5.00--so I save 5 bucks. The nail techs are nicer, more professional and more willing to fix their job if you're not happy. Finally--and this is important!! They have a better quality of polish!! Happy Nails uses cheap, thin, watery no-name brand polish. Blissful has Essie and OPI and it lasts! This is my go to nail Spot. I love Jennifer for pedicures and Mimi for my nails because she always knows how to do the best design. Prices are getting sleep butt they always give me right. I love the fact that they have wine and in large selection of colors, and nail methods such as SNS... we could've definitely better on teaching the other nail techs how to do better nails because they said. I feel like the people on the right side do better nails and the people on the left side but that's just me because I've been there and I've tried about six people and I've always come back to Mimi and Jennifer. This was my first time at this location for a gel pedicure and manicure. The techs were very professional but the quality of the service was less than satisfactory. They are DEFINITELY not following Covid-19 protocols. None of the equipment used on me came out of the autoclave, the water in the pedicure bowl was not clean, I had to have the tech drain the water, clean the bowl and put fresh water. I witnessed them reuse the buffers, nail files and feet scrubbers on multiple clients. NOT OK! There is no chance in hell that I will ever go back to this place. A disaster waiting to happen. This was NEVER my main salon only convenient here and there. She is a very nasty person that sits there with her AirPods in her ear talking on the phone when she's not spewing an attitude. She books every appointment in 30 min increments which means she's ALWAYS late and offers no apology but you're held there to your time by her $20 deposit policy. I've been to Happy Nails before but have not found someone to do my nails consistently. My cousin suggested I go to Mimi, so I called the Tuesday evening to see if she had anything available. They put her on the phone and she told me to come at 10:30, I said that was perfect, and she hung up. I arrived Wednesday morning at 10:15 and when I told the woman at the desk that I was here for Mimi she immediately sat me down on the couch and told me to wait bc she wasn't there. We get to 10:30 and she is still not here, 10:40 I'm still waiting. Around 10:50 I ask if someone can get in touch with her because I've been waiting since before my appointment time and she's now 20 minutes late. The woman told me to just sit down and that she was "just in traffic". What traffic is there at 10am on a Wednesday? Mimi blows in close to 11 and tells an older woman to come with her. Someone else stops her and tells her that I have been waiting for her. I told her my appointment was at 10:30 and she said I didn't make a deposit so she couldn't take me. Mimi proceeds to go back and forth with me about how she told me over the phone to make a deposit or she couldn't take me. I told her that never happened. She's persistent, so to not make a bigger scene I told her to get someone who could take me now. She was late and is now wasting my time. Mimi is very talented, but since her following has gone up she has become very rude and unprofessional. I went to her two years ago before she started her deposit policy and she was very pleasant, asking me about my life and making conversation. Today, however, was different and sadly I must discontinue patronizing this establishment. I truly adore Mimi's work and I'm the type of person that sticks with what I know to be great quality. I can definitely say I respect her art & her occupation but her attitude was completely unprofessional. Before she starts on me, I discuss with her the design I wanted and then I inquired about the price. When she told me the fill & design would be $80, I decided to go with something simpler & less money. This is when the attitude starts. Mimi tried to challenge me stating that I have been a repeat customer, I shouldn't need to ask about price and I should know that her prices are higher than what's on the pamphlet. At this point, I don't say anything more & she continues doing my nails. When she finishes, I try to make peace with her & she responds by walking away and not even acknowledging me. I paid, gave them a $10 tip, and left. Never to return. The whole experience was weird & unsettling. I've always been a loyal customer, tipped $5-20 out of gratitude & appreciation, and followed her rules/policies. However, I truly believe Mimi is stretched too thin, overbooked, & overworked. Her popularity is increasing and I know she works all day long trying to keep up with demand but she has to have some boundaries. Beautiful salon. There are only two nail techs that know how to do neat AND long lasting nails. As far as bedazzled nails go, be prepared to tell them what to do because they aren't the most creative bunch. One of those nail techs is Mimi- she does a great job but can have a really nasty attitude if she feels like you are asking for too much and is more than comfortable with arguing with you. As far as making appointments, good luck with getting them to answer the phone (it's a gamble). Oh, and hope that the appointment before yours isn't late because your appointment will get pushed back too.. at least with Mimi anyway. My Initial thoughts were I think I find my new nail place and that was solely based off the beauty of my new set. So when I first arrived it's beautiful in a high traffic shopping center which I love because it's easy to find, park and convenient. Now my getting wasn't the warmest. Mimi did my nails and the looked Amazing however they didn't hold up at all I got a new set on now while only having that set for a week and a half. The lifting was too much so I was scared of them breaking so I had them removed. I had stones on two fingers and total of 3 fell off. When I arrived my nail tec was wiring in a guest and asked me if I was getting a pedicure so i was like why not it's better than sitting and the decor makes you want to get it all. I got a parifin wax and gel polish. So my pedicure was good the issue was the lack of professional customer service when handling other guest. Three people where Sat in a pedicure bowl two came together and the other was a male. They sat for 20 min or more and no one checked on them or said someone will be assisting you shortly. So frustrated they all got out of the bowls with wet get and walked out. OK that's not my business right, we'll when my pedicure tech was getting smart and talking mess when 3 customers walk out with wet get they'd crazy talking about they needed a appointment so why sit them in water for 20 min if that's the case. She was kind to me but again my pedicure want your basic it was $70 and all together I paid $160 ok no problem I knew that it was gonna cost more for my nails I wanted alot so that's why I had to write a review based on it being high end on surface and not long lasting or even standard results. I love love my nails appearance like it was the prettiest but didn't last 3 weeks. I even made another appointment prior to me leaving but got my $20 deposit Back last week when the 3rd nail lifted. Oh I do hair for a living so my nails are constantly under water so if you don't do much with your hands like I do it probably last. Go to any nail spa except this one. I've been trying to give them a chance since they have a modern salon and a variety of gel colors, however, the customer service is terrible for the most part. The nail technicians always start out by telling me how thick my nails look not knowing that I got my nails done in the same shop just 2 weeks prior. This is unnecessarily negative in my opinion. I also always feel rushed, the last time I went for a soak off and the technician did not allow all of the acrylic to soak off. She became impatient and decided to do an overlay when there was residual acrylic on my nails. I also asked for white nails and she put a clear coat on instead because in her opinion the white and residual pink acrylic looked better.This was the last straw, I went to DC nails in DuPont where I had a much better experience however they had to soak off the overlay done by happy's nail spa because the incorrect acrylic was used on my nails. Came here for the first time for a spa pedicure. I was very surprised by how pretty the salon was in the inside. I didn't expect to see a salon that looked so fancy in New Carrollton. My pedicure was great and they have a nice variety of colors. The guy who did my pedicure also took his time with the polish job and my toes look great read more

Everyone must go see Vicky!!!!! That girl is amazing, I've been going to her for about a year after my last nail tech moved back to her country. Some days I give Vicky a picture to copy and somehow she makes my nails look better than the picture!! Other days I tell her to surprise me and I am just speechless when I see the designs she comes up with. And if Vicky isn't there on a day you decide to go, ask for her husband, Atin. I just moved to the area have been shopping around for my new salon home. This will not be it. The woman who did my nails was the rudest nail tech I have had in a very long time. I went in wanting a fill (but prepared to need more considering how long I had waited since my last set). I really feel like this woman wanted my nails to look bad as punishment for not getting them filled sooner. Even though I repeatedly communicated to her how I wanted my nails to look, she'd ignore what I asked for and begin doing what she wanted. When I would correct her, she would tell me "no" or complain that I should have gotten a fill in sooner. I couldn't figure out why she didn't care to do a good job. She didn't even polish my nails all the way and left colored polish all over the base of my french tips. I have no idea how me not getting a fill sooner impacted her ability to color in the lines. Anyways, eventually, her complaints and ignoring me turned into "that costs more" and I figured that she was choosing to cut corners and be rude because she assumed I would not be able to 'afford' having my nails done correctly. I am not sure if it was because I am black, young, or had not gotten a fill in a while but her assumption couldn't be farther from the truth. Either way, I gave up on advocating for myself halfway through the experience because this woman was determined to belittle me. I don't even mind rude comments if the nail tech does a good job--but this was horrible customer service AND a crappy job. I am honestly disappointed in myself for not arguing with her AND tipping way more than she deserved. I just didn't have the heart to be as ugly to her as she was to me.
