Pricing seems appropriate based on what I got. It's a full set of coffin shaped acrylics for $33. I got my nails done by Danny, and I'm pleased with the results. Went in on Sunday around 11, place seemed to be a bit busy, but they were able to take two walk-ins for full set acrylics. Was very spacious as well, which I enjoyed. More like unhappy nails. It's nice inside but my manicure was horrible. The nail tech was an older Asian woman. Her hands were totally unsteady, she got paint all over my fingers while also somehow managing to miss parts of my nail. She also jabbed me with one of her tools and I bled everywhere. She kept painting over areas she messed up on so the polish is bubbly and thick. My nails look awful and I am dying to go to my usual salon to have them fixed tomorrow. read more

My main reason for going was the number of technicians and getting in quickly without an appointment. For nails, the salon would be a 4.5, but it lost points on the back facial. They must have booked me with someone new, someone not familiar with the other spa services. A back facial involves steaming and opening pores, a scrub to exfoliate, and then moisturize. The technician obviously thought a facial was a massage. My facial consisted of the application of oil and a massage. The massage was lovely, but now I had a layer of oil to remove. Several times I questioned, "are you sure this is a back facial?" She dismissed my questions and concerns; it was not worth the effort. I contemplated calling and talking to the owner, but my schedule was such that I could not return for a while due to surgery the following day. I knew I would not return. Very nice appearance once you enter but the person who attended me was not focused. I was getting a pedicure with eye brow waxing and she cut into my skin while doing the pedicure. It is now 5 days later and the site is still red and not fully healed. Not to mention she put some drops 20 minutes after I kept mentioning it was stinging after she made the cut and she didn't give me any warning what so ever what the drops were and that they would feel like my flesh was burning. I'll be looking for somewhere else to go. The courtesy drink and fruit and outrageous pricing definitely are not worth coming out of the salon with a cut. read more

PAID 80 DOLLARS FOR A GEL SET & POWDER ACRYLIC SET. Mind you those both are more on the pricey side. First of all my pedicure was cold as of the water. The "tech" barely cut or filed any of my nails. I did not get his name but he was day dreaming the whole time even he knew he was AND wasn't suppose to. The "hot" towel was not hot at all! And lastly for my pedicure I'm pretty sure GEL should be dried with a UV light which mine were not at all instead were air dried where as to my nails smudged ! . AS FOR my powder acrylic set (NO POLISHES NO GEL) I had gone in for a refill which was done by powder which were perfectly fine and fairly brand new . Instead he said he had to take them off for what reason ? I do not know . I was bleeding and I'm bad pain when he ATTEMPTED to take them off . Instead of using a acrylic brush and powder he used a cheap clear coat and dunked my nails into the powder about 15 times . Asked for coffin got a not coffin shape and I had to go home and shape them myself .my nails are only almost 1 week old and my ring finger is already on the verge of coming off. TO BE HONEST my original set would've perfectly still been nicely FULLY ON and NOT CHIPPED AT ALL(DID NOT COME HERE FOR THOSE).Short story short they places interior can be deceiving but it's work is definitely not . Okay the outside shopping center is what it is, and if a couple friends hadn't recommended it I probably wouldn't have even parked and gone in... but I was really surprised by how nice it was inside! The bar is a nice touch, but they didn't have any brands I recognized for polish, which totally fine, wait time was alright even though I tried to call ahead to make an appointment which apparently they don't do if you don't request someone specific. My nail tech was nice and friendly BUT she kept hurting me. Not in a nice massage way like you wish any pedi massage was good these days but they're not, but first it was the cuticle pusher run under my big toes which I winced at and said ouch, but then she began trimming the cuticles to the sides of each big toe and wow not gentle at all. I commented a few times, pulling back saying ouch that hurts and she just kept digging (mind you I get pedicures once a month to every 6 weeks so not only was it not necessary, I don't get ingrowns either, but I know what to expect and maybe an occasional side to pull out a little but not like this). At one point one big toe was bleeding on the side and I was pulling back and she put down a piece of "nail" that she had clipped off the side claiming it needed it. Again not necessary at all. I finished the service but gosh I can't help but feel terrible now with how sore and inflamed the sides of my big toes are. Hoping for zero infection since I also noticed they don't pull their tools out of a sterile bag for each guest. Ugh. Not happy and especially for the price, which I chose one that also included a 10 minute neck massage which was nice until it lasted maybe 5 minutes max and ended with a karate chop to my spine. It is not the Spa's fault inconsiderate people bring their small screaming, shrieking children who get on the technician's stools and roll up and down the aisles. Don't be fooled by their renovations, these people want your money more than anything else! The staff is treated poorly by the owners who walk around in Gucci suits, most of the staff have problems paying bills etc. they don't even get to keep their tips. NO ONE cleans their tools, I have witnessed and experienced myself fungal infections from getting my nails and toes done here! Also every single one of the receptionists are rude. Everything WAS good. Friendly nail tech for pedicure and fairly good massage. I could have used a better bottom foot scrub but maybe he thought I didn't need it. It was at the moment he sloppily put the top coat on getting it all over my toes, in the cuticle, etc and then went back in to trim stuff after the fact that I decided to write a review. Between this, nail techs not knowing how to shape, and rushing you in and out I definitely want to find a new place to go to. There is only one here worth seeing (Max) and he is always busy. My daughter found this place and she know how I am about my feet ! So I went based on her suggestion, I went on a Monday morning and I had a very nice tech named Wendy and my daughter had Vivian . Beautiful interior, very warm and welcoming and their customer service was great. Both of our pedicures were done to perfection! Not one single complaint. I waited some time to calm down before writing this review and also considered whether I should even write it. I hate giving negative reviews because I know how bad negative reviews can hurt small businesses since their success is rooted in word of mouth and positive reviews. However, my experience at Happy Nails has left me so unsatisfied that I have to. I've patronized Happy Nails more than several times over the years --always having a positive experience. The actual services (mani, pedi, acrylic nails, gel nails, and eyebrows) I'd had were only slightly above average, but I always returned because I really enjoyed the spa feeling created by maintaining a calm atmosphere, providing drinks, and now I've seen they're providing small fruit plates as well. I liked that they made an extra effort to set themselves apart from other salons in the area. All that being said I will NEVER return to Happy Nails. Two weeks ago I headed to Happy Nails to have my nails and eyebrows done. As usual, they greeted me and after a short wait escorted me to the waxing room. I laid down and the lady quickly began waxing my eyebrows. She did well, but her incessant attempts to upsell me throughout the course of the service were annoying. She suggested I wax anything and everything and then suggested eyelash extensions.......PAUSE........she got me! I'd wanted to my eyelashes done for some time and since I'd always received service without incident I said YES! She nicely explained the quality and price difference for individuals as compared to strips. I selected the individuals since she indicated they would look most natural. I DID NOT want to walk out looking like I had hand fans glued to my face. I laid back down excited because I just KNEW I was about to be Beyonce-fied. After she started I felt only slight discomfort from the glue. Then about midway through my right eye the glue became uncomfortably warm. Never having had this service done I didn't know if this was normal so I asked. She said it's fine and continued placing lashes. The warmth continued to grow but eventually became bearable. She finished after about another 30 minutes and began fanning them to aid the drying of glue. She handed me a mirror and complimented me on how pretty they were. I didn't really like them at first because I felt they were too thick but she assured I only felt that way because it was my first time with them and I hadn't yet grown used to them. Ehh she was probably right. So I walked out the room feeling good, got my nails done then left. When I got home all my girls complimented them so I felt reassured that it was just me and quickly got used to them and soon came to like them. Unfortunately, at home is where the problems began. The next morning when washing my face I saw several clusters of eye leashes on my washcloth. This annoyed me because she'd assured me she was placing "individuals." But, whatever the money was spent now and I liked the way they looked, especially with makeup, so that was no longer relevant. As I approached the second week the lashes became VERY uncomfortable. Though they looked cute they "prickled" and itched horribly so my eyelids became irritated and red because I was rubbing them so much. I also noticed black specs on the surface of my eye every night when I removed my contacts. I decided it was time to remove them so I purchased "Lash Adhesive Remover" from CVS. I steamed my face, held a warm rag to my eyes for about 3 minutes to soften the glue, saturated the lashline with with the adhesive remover, then let it sit for about a minute. I slowly pulled a couple clumps of lashes off my left eye but noticed the lashes on my right eye hadn't budged. I repeated the process about 4 more times but no lashes came off either side. Only slightly panicked I went to have them professionally removed at another salon. As soon as I walked through the door the lady just looked at me and said, "Oh honey," shook her head, and took my arm. I laid down and after she examined my eyes she informed me that the lady who applied my lashes had had glued them to MY SKIN using HAIR WEAVE BONDING GLUE and the only way to remove them would be to pick the glue off with tweezers. After several VERY PAINFUL minutes she finished removing the false lashes. I had only a few sparse tiny wisps of lashes speckled across my lash line. She informed me that surgical glue should have been used to place the extension on my lashes and only those licensed to apply lashes were able to get it. Heart broken, I thanked her and left before I started crying. I have no idea if the lady, or anybody else, at Happy Nails is licensed to apply lash extensions but I know that they should stop offering that service if they are not going to use the proper materials! This is going to seem like a drastic change in opinion from the tip I left a few weeks ago. Prepare yourselves. In short, I was blinded by the glitz and glamour of this place. Amazed by the facility and blinded by the fruit slices and cold water. What I realized on my second visit is that (1) the facility, overall, should be much cleaner, (2) everyone isn't professional and friendly, (3) their actual service is probably only worth $7 per manicure, $10 for a "spa" pedi and all other services are questionable. My second time here, I got the gel polish mani and a spa pedi. The gel lasted on my nails for approx. 4 days. On the first day the Polish began to lift around my cuticles and chip at the tips. I was utterly disgusted. The technician handled my feet very roughly and painted my toe nails less efficiently than a 7 year old. I won't be back. Not even on my most desperate day. It's too costly to get bad service. In hind sight, the my first visit was pretty bad as well. A technician argued with a client about not being able to provide her glittered nails. I've been coming here on and off for the year that I've been in the area. Almost every time I'm not in any way impressed. My pedicure is subpar. It's to the point now where I'll only get the basic so that I can pay the least because I know it's going to suck. The last time i came my pedicure was absolutely pitiful. my massage consisted of putting lotion on my legs and rubbing it in; nothing more. I rub my own lotion in with more pressure. There have been a few occasions where I've had to demand that my fingers be redone. However, Kathy does a great job and I love her mom Kimberly. If I do come there only Kathy is allowed to touch my hands and I prefer Kimberly for my feet. I think it's time for me to give another place a chance. read more

Scheduled my appointment and provided my phone number because I have been present on multiple occasions when someone's appointment was scheduled incorrectly. I always arrive early to pick my color because I am indecisive. I scheduled my appointment for the day after Memorial Day and arrived early. David was my favorite tech and he did my nails that day. During my pedicure another guest was getting mad with the receptionist and David went to check on her in the middle of my pedicure and he comes and tells me that my appointment was for yesterday and that I didn't show up and they called me. That's not the case because I was scheduled to work on Memorial Day and I schedule my appointments based on my work schedule and I would never be at a nail salon on a holiday. It's obvious that my service was rushed to take care of the angry customer. I got a gel manicure that only lasted a week so needless to say I won't be going to David again but specifically Happy Nails again. I do recommend him because I do think he is one of the best and in the past my manicures have lasted 2-3 weeks. When I pay $90+ for a nail service I expect to be treated as a priority. I feel that the receptionist is unprofessional. Even if I was wrong about my appointment decide to just do my pedicure and then give me the option of waiting or having someone else do my manicure. There Is really no reason to make the situation weird for either customer since in the end it's not my fault that the appointments were wrong. While I was paying the receptionist said: "Yeah, I tried to call you yesterday but it went to voicemail!" I had not one missed call. I have never heard her make a reminder call nor have I ever received one. I don't like to be lied to and I don't like to be accused of lying. The technician was so rough I'm still suffering from the injuries she caused me weeks later. During the nail "treatment", my nails were burning & started to bleed. I told the technician to stop &I I didn't let her finish the "manicure" SHE NEVER PUT ON ANY POLISH! Then I tried to explain to the racist white receptionist what was happening & she claimed I was trying to step behind the desk!! What?! I left there with my friend without paying for a $20 service because who would ever pay for someone to make their own nails bleed??! I go out shopping, and come home an hour later to police at my doorstep banging on my door, saying that Happy Nails claimed I stole something from them & demanded I come back to pay them for a WHOPPING... $20. Twenty fucking dollars. Twenty dollars and they called the cops on me because I didn't want to pay for the service. Originally I had walked in there earlier with over $150 in cash on me, plus all my credit cards and went to the tip machine BEFORE anything started. I ALWAYS pay for my nails to be done every two weeks, I ALWAYS tip, and LOVE going to nail salons. I never want to or tried or ever STOLEN from ANYONE, I would NEVER do that. I DONT condone stealing, and I never went in the salon with the intention of not paying. I just was a customer dissatisfied with the service. Came her for the first time a few weeks ago because I forgot my normal nail lady at another shop was off and I didn't want to wait. I was assigned Anna, she was very kind, catered to my request and when she was done I thought the nails looked great... However, the very next day while just putting my hand down my tip of my index nail popped off! I've learned the art of being careful when you have any kind of acrylic nails with some length so I knew it didn't come off due to me being rough. Then looking further at my nails I noticed that all my nails were very thin and sloppily done, my own natural nail sticking out on the sides not sealed down. I went back that same day and explained the situation, a very nice young man Toni fixed it, but I found it kind of funny that while he was taking off what remained of the broken nail he was mumbling things like "what are they doing" and showing me how easy it was to take the acrylic off because it was so thin... all before he knew I got nails done there and just yesterday. He fixed the nail and it was thicker than the others, he didn't charge me but I still tipped him anyway because he did the work over something that wasn't his fault. The environment of the salon is nice and alluring with a wine bar and attractive design, but the quality of the manicure itself is worse than if I would have done it myself. For paying $35 + tip you would expect a decent manicure that doesn't have bubbles and leftover over gel Polish around my cuticles. I have had some good experiences here but some really bad experiences as well. I just went and got my nails and eyebrow done. I did not get the name of the woman who "pampered" me but she had long dark hair with blonde highlights and colored contacts in. I got in and told the front desk that I wanted "a really good gel manicure" hoping they would give me someone who would take their time and care about the customer. That is not what I received today. I sat down and was done in 20 mins... nails and eyebrows! Maybe for a gel color change alone that is ALMOST acceptable but I asked for "a really good gel manicure" and then eyebrows were added. Not even half way through my manicure the receptionist came over asking how much longer because there was someone who wanted a pedicure and their eyebrows done. The manicurist said "15 mins" and here I am thinking .. Where's my dedicated time? I am a paying customer too! If you do not have the time to take me and give me good service that I am paying for then don't don't take me at all .. let alone ask me if I would like another service added on! The manicurist made me bleed while trying to cut back my cuticles. She put oil and lotion on my skin, rubbed it in quickly and said I was done. No massage.. nothing. She was not paying attention to the job she was doing because I ended up with nail polish on my skin that I had to point out at the end so she could fix .... she filed down the gel polish and just wiped it off with a cotton swab with alcohol (I'm assuming). Don't you think another top coat on that nail would've been nice because you just took the top coat off of part of the nail by filing it down?? I am not happy with my service here tonight and wished I had asked for the manicurists name. When I went to pay for the rushed services the receptionist asked me if everything was ok and I replied that I felt my manicure was a BIT rushed. The manicurist was there cashing me out and waiting for her tip (which I always feel is a bit weird). I hope that manicurist understands what I was saying and does not do that to another paying customer. I didn't want to leave a tip at all but I guess I would've felt a bit guilty if I did that. I like this place. I used to come here when I lived in the area a few years ago and now that I moved back, I came right here to get my nails done. They have the best pedicure selection at reasonable costs. And they provide you with drinks and fruit plate too (easier to eat during the pedi, not the mani). My wife and I went in for a relaxing day to get pedicures. When Vivian went to use the "grater" on the bottoms of my feet she turned my feet into Swiss cheese. My feet are literally ripped apart. I didn't notice until they put whatever stuff on my feet that they were on fire. This continued for what felt like an eternity. Not to mention she cut my nails into the shape of a V. Now I'll have to monitor for ingrown toe nails. My wife's nails were not any better. Tony applied nail polish sloppily on her toes and by the time we were ready to go (which was an hour later) her nails still were not dry. I barely walked out of the place and I can hardly stand on my feet. I'll need to visit a doctor right away to address concerns of infection. I love coming here, Nina did an awesome job on my pedicure, I went home and made my boyfriend rub my feet because she made them feel so soft I felt like I had brand new feet. I felt like I was a new person! lol She was very funny too we talked about a lot of different stuff. She even complimented me on my make-up which I gave 10+point to because I spend time and money to look good(not being cocky I just like being told I did a great job when I put in effort) And she even agreed to do my fill when I came in the following week. I use to go to a different nail salon but the guy always messed up (nail polish on my skin, missed a spot, felt physically hurt, crooked nail) and accuse me of his mess ups, here if I point out a flaw or anything they fix it right away ask if everything is fine before they continue. Oh and they serve wine,soda, water, and fruit as a courtesy! Love my experience! read more

I was referred to this nail salon by a friend a few months ago and since I was in the area and in need of a gel manicure and regular pedicure I decided to give it a try. The Atmosphere: The salon is beautiful, looked upscale and felt calm and relaxing. Checking in: Checking in was easy at the front desk; there were a line of assistants to greet incoming customers and assign nail technicians. Picking Out Colors: I was escorted to a wall of what seemed like 1,000's of nail colors and asked to select a color. The only thing that I didn't like about this is that there were no swatches; for some of the gel colors I was unable to determine what the colors looked like. I asked the assistant if there were any nail swatches but didn't get an answer; I also asked my nail technician and there was a language barrier. the nail technician tried to assist me by suggesting random colors and putting the colors on her nails so I could see. I just really didn't like this process, I was confused, felt a little rushed and eventually I gave up and selected something random to get it over with. Then my nail tech later dropped the color I had selected and it shattered all over the place; I had to get another color but decided to show her and another nail technician a Pinterest photo of what I wanted and they found something comparable. The Pedicure Experience: The massage chairs were comfortable and the bowls were beautiful. My nail technician did nick my big toe and it bled but I didn't have a nervous breakdown about it; things happen but ouch. I'm just happy the tools being used were sterile. I upgraded to a higher prices pedicure and my feet are good; the polish job is good. The Manicure Experience: The chairs at the manicure stations were very comfortable. My manicure was fine; however, there are a few things that I didn't/don't like about my gel manicure: some of my nails are bumpy because the polish wasn't applied smoothly, one of my nails even has lines in it; 6 days later and the polish looks dingy or and some areas are lifting at my cuticles already. This is always disappointing because this nail salon; like others, charge you an arm and a leg and when the polish doesn't last 2 weeks it makes me feel horrible like I've been bamboozled and wasted money. The Eyebrow Experience: The eyebrow waxing area was so cute; I got to lay back in a comfortable chair instead of those tables at most salons. My Nail technician did an awesome job on my eyebrows. Overall Thoughts: This place is beautiful and I didn't add that they serve a plate of watermelon and pineapples and offer wine, soda, water as you get serviced; it's elite; however, overall, I'm not sure if I'd go back because I spent almost $100 and my gel manicure is pretty much trash. I know most salons it all depend on your nail tech; mine was decent but there were just too many misses. Other weird things at no fault of the salon; someone parked outside the salon blasting loud music and this suspect looking guy came wobbling through the salon because his pants were sagging too low and no one greeted him to see what the heck he was doing or who he was looking for. The ATM machine was broken inside the salon so I had to go to the grocery store to use theirs and come back to give a tip (I wish salons would just let you pay tip when you sign your receipt) I suggest if you do visit this salon; search the reviews for the best nail techs and request them when you go. Ive frequented Happy nails for years. Got a spa pedicure and a fill. The service was fine.No conversation was made while I was getting my services and my nails were okay. When checking out I noticed the charges were higher so I inquired about the new prices, the receptionist wasnt able to answer my question so my mail tech came back and told me the new prices. I was fine with it, paid for my services, tipped and left. However, as I'm leaving the parking lot, I glance in my rear view mirror and it looks like the receptionist is taking pictures of my vehicle. She see's me and stops. I begin to drive away and she starts taking pictures of my vehicle again. i circle back to their door and go inside. I ask her" is there a reason why you are taking pictures of my car?" She responds I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else. Both of you had the same hair style. I told her that was very unprofessional and quite tacky. What did you plan to do with my vehicle info? I was so upset and confused! I'm not sure what taking pictures of someones tag does for them, but as far as I'm concerned, that was my last visit to Happy Nails. Every time I come here I receive great service. When I'm in Woodbridge, I definitely take advantage and make time to come here. Especially like the prices...way better than Arlington & Alexandria prices! LoL Nancy is obviously one of the best Techs (Wendy too) but all the other members have done very well too! read more
