The rates are also incredible- the quality for the amazing price ($12 for a small group walk, $22 for private!!) is unbeatable. 10/10 stars isn't enough!!

The service we agreed upon was for Darrel to walk our dog and then put out his food and fresh water for him before leaving. There were frequent problems-- small at first-- with following the instructions. Darrel would forget to refill the water dish or would not close the refrigerator after feeding the dog (the dog food is in there). Each time we communicated the problem to Carole, she would tell us she'd remind Darrel but the problems continued. Once or twice, Darrel left our apartment door unlocked after walking the dog and bringing him home (luckily nothing bad happened). The final straw was that Darrel forgot to feed the dog a couple of weeks ago. We reached out to Carole to address the issue, which to us represented an escalating pattern of inadequate care for our dog and disregard of our simple instructions. Her response was that she "didn't like the tone" of our email, said that feeding and not charging extra for it was "doing a favor"-- charging extra to feed the dog was never something that was mentioned to us AT ALL throughout the course of the year we were using their services-- and proceeded to say she would no longer work with us. No apology, no attempts to make things right-- just an unwillingness to take feedback and accept responsibility when something that jeopardized the well-being of our dog happened on their watch. We have moved on to another walking company and are much happier with their services and willingness to communicate. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of zero is because these mistakes didn't happen every time our dog was walked and there were some weeks throughout the year where everything went according to plan. Would very much recommend against using this small business since they don't take responsibility for their mistakes, don't respond effectively to requests to correct them, and simply terminate their working relationship when you point out flaws in their service.

These were promptly reported and they made sure to keep the cuts and bruises well attended to. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the dog romps that Will posts to their Instagram page as well as the photo updates that are shared. The new tagging system that uses AI to automatically find Leo's photos within the daily photo sets is super convenient as well. The van service has been a godsend, especially for me as a non-car owner in New York City. And pickup and drop off is always very seamless. I continue to be a customer and Leo continues to be a client at Glencadia and I look forward to using them again in the future!

Our dog came home with a cut on his nose, filthy, and completely lethargic -- he wouldn't eat or move the next day. We rushed him to an emergency vet and discovered he had a serious skin infection and a fever. He is now on two weeks of antibiotics and has to wear a cone of shame. Total cost to us: $1,500 in emergency vet bills on top of the $900 we already paid them. When we contacted Glencadia, they refused to reimburse us or even have a real conversation about what happened. Their response was essentially: "you signed a disclaimer, sue us." They never emailed or called us to let us know our dog was injured or unwell during his stay. The photos they posted of him during the trip appeared deliberately framed to hide any signs of his condition. This is what you're signing up for. Protect your pet and go elsewhere.

While they did refund the stay itself, their lack of accountability and care makes me question how much attention dogs truly receive at this facility. My dog went for a board and train to work on loose leash walking, basic manners, impulse control, things like that. I filled out a survey with my training goals and was told I'd have a call with the trainers prior to the start of camp so we could better define the goals. That call never happened, and my emails with additional questions were ignored. I was also promised regular communications throughout the week: two training updates and daily photos. My second update came over 24 hours late and my dog was rarely in any of the photos taken during play time. Upon returning home, my dog had not gained much in the way of new skills but had developed a severe increase in leash-related human reactivity, which has not historically been a problem for him. I can't definitively say that FFA and their training methods caused this directly, but it's pretty hard for me to think of another likely explanation. Especially since it has now begun to subside as more time elapses from his stay at FFA. I was told that FFA believes in only using positive reinforcement training, but looking at videos of what transpired at camp tells me that their definition of R+ is a bit creative. I saw them using leash pressure (a form of negative feedback, and NOT R+) in multiple different training scenarios, something I specifically asked about on the phone prior to booking and a staff member assured me that was not something my dog would encounter. Overall, I'm incredibly frustrated to have spent so much money on what could have been a great experience for my sweet dog, only to learn I unintentionally traumatized him. I'm now spending more money with my local trainer who is truly R+ to reverse the damage done at FFA and we are making great progress, but we should never have had to work on this in the first place.

They provide you with training and support well past your initial session (for no extra charge). I've had dogs all my life but when Ginger started to refuse to be leashed up to go out and did not fit the profile of a dog afraid of the outdoors, I knew there was something else going on. On the Trello website they provide for you after your appointment, I posted each day with an update on Ginger's progress or lack there of. Brian responded promptly each day with thoughtful questions, insights and recommendations. He walked me through various possible issues and potential solutions until we got it right. With Brian's patience, expertise and generosity of time, we were able to determine the issue behind Ginger's reluctance to being leashed.

We needed care for 10 days, and with so little time to research options, we went with a recommendation from my trusted vet: Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. We reached out to person who identified herself as one of the co-owners, who offered to personally care for the puppy. Because he was too young to stay at the main facility, the plan was for her to keep him at her personal residence. We dropped him off at the East Harlem business location and headed home. My friend is very attached to his dog, and he even got an Uber back the same day just to bring the puppy's blanket. He left feeling reassured that the dog was in good hands. That night, my friend was already missing his puppy and asked for an update before bed, and she sent over some photos, which he shared in our group chat. At first glance they looked great. Almost too great. Anyone who has spent five minutes with an 8-week-old Aussie knows they never stand still, so my first thought was that she must be a remarkable trainer to get a puppy posed so perfectly. But looking closer, I noticed irregularities in the images, and they appeared to be AI generated. These were later confirmed to be AI generated. I want to be fair here. I don't believe there was any bad intent, and the puppy was returned to us in perfectly good condition. But sending what seemed to be AI-generated photos instead of a quick real snapshot was a lapse in judgment that undermined our trust at the worst possible moment. When you've handed over a very young puppy on short notice, an honest update matters more than a polished one. Given the circumstances, we felt more comfortable collecting the dog, and a refund was promptly issued, which we appreciated. With departure set for the following morning, there was no time to find replacement boarding, and the trip had to be cancelled entirely. Between the non-refundable bookings and rearranged plans, it turned into an expensive problem. Others clearly have good experiences here, and the co-owner was pleasant throughout. This just wasn't the right fit for us, and I'd encourage them to stick with real photos for owner updates, even imperfect ones. Honest beats perfect every time.
