We've used Happy Paws for several years now, for Doggie Daycare and as an overnight kennel. The staff is great, thoughtful and involved, and always willing to go the extra mile to help us when needed. In the weeks before our older dog had to be euthanized, they were particularly super. Our new dog is high-energy, and she loves to go spend time with all her friends. Regular nail trimming is great for us, particularly her front paws. They offer bathing and grooming, but we don't particularly care for the perfumed scent of their standard shampoo, and our dog doesn't shed much. They're also very good about hygiene and cleanliness, requiring documented 6-month Bordetella ("Kennel cough") vaccinations. We've never had issues with the front desk staff and management, but we pay promptly and follow the rules, these days haters will be haters. read more

Considering the owner has ran this business for so long , she believes she is of a higher status than most people. This is proven by the way her feelings were undoubtedly hurt , when I asked to learn more about the refund policies and procedures. Her reply was demeaning and tone was degrading. Is that not the beauty of daycare/ boarding services?? So your furbaby can have a home away from home while you have to be away? She cancelled my membership because of my "attitude" when asking my question and not because my dog had done anything wrong. The idea of this establishment seems nice, but the paying customer is required to commit and accommodate more than the business can give. You must stay in line, as any comments or questions of concern you may have, can result in expulsion. It saddens me that such an beautiful concept can be ran by such an ugly spirit. Be careful who trust with your fur babies- they cannot tell you what is REALLY going on. I was refused of full refund of membership fees which is misleading as the contracts lacks in stating that : 1. Absences will result in a new membership/ temperament fee . 2. The consumer is not entitled to financial compensation if membership cancellation is not a result of breaking business policies and procedures. read more

My boxer boys have been going to Happy Paws since 2006. I've been impressed ever since. Flossie runs a tight ship and it shows! Your dog becomes part of the pack and LOVES it! Extremely clean, great staff! It's like preschool for your dog. Great exercise and mental stimulation. The peace of mind you need knowing your fur kids are safe and happy. read more

The facility is nice enough, and the employees seemed decent and friendly. I just can't stand the owner. She's dismissive, rude, and uses her age as an excuse to behave however she wants. I don't care how old you are, you're never too old to learn the bare minimum of decency. read more

I have been taking my dog here since they first opened their doors in Feb of 2004. Yes, the facility is kind of small compared to other doggie daycares and the parking lot is a nightmare, but the staff here are excellent and my dog loves this place! I always know she is in good hands and will be well taken care of. She has also been boarded here several times and I like that they are the only cage free kennel in Atlanta (the dogs sleep on beds in an open room). Also, someone is on the premise 24 hours a day to make sure that nothing bad happens. This is not the case with almost every other daycare/kennel in Atlanta, so do your homework (god forbid a fire break out after hours... who would smell the smoke?) There might be a little sticker shock when you see the daycare rates but it is money well spent imo, and very comparable with other daycares. We love Happy Paws!! read more

I have only been taking my 20 month old Snorkie Sebastian to Happy Paws for a few weeks...but I can't say enough great things about this place!! The staff is AMAZING!! They are all patient, experienced dog lovers and they treat my little dude like he's one of their own!! Sebastian can't wait to get out of the car in the mornings when we pull up!! He runs in and finds Shannon and his "pack" and has the time of his life all day!! He comes home worn out and ready for some water, a quick walk and then he's knocked out for the rest of the day/night!! Tired doggie equals a happy doggie!! It's clean, safe, no cages means great socialization, and he learns from the other dogs in his pack. They get an A+ from this super particular Dog Mommy!!!! read more

If you love your dog, DO NOT take it here. While some of the guys seem competent and caring, the overall staff at this place is hideous, from the lady in charge (whose bark is louder than dogs) blowing an air horn to the front desk staff just "being there." I tried Happy Paws with every good intention that we found a home for our dog. I was SO wrong. The front staff treated me like a fool because I did not know their system (reminder- you work at a desk) and they are overcrowded. THey tout about the 60+ dogs they keep daily-- this does not mean your dogs are happy!!!! My dog never wanted to go back in the mornings and was bounding to get out in the afternoons. My dog has gone to 2 other daycare places (by choice) and he never, NEVER has responded like that. And once they started treating me in a rude manner, I finally figured out why my dog was upset every day he came home. I have also talked to 3 other people who have removed their dog from Happy Paws stating the dog was scared when coming home, never ate ANYTHING at Happy Paws and was too scared to use the bathroom while there. If you love your dog, DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

DOG BITTEN!!! FIND OTHER PET CARE! I had been taking my two dogs to Happy Paws for years when one of my dogs was bitten in the tail by another dog. My dogs are so sweet and nice and get along with everyone and every dog. The owner conveniently tried to blame my other dog for the bite providing video of a moment where my accused dog chased a ball off screen in the direction my bitten dog was running. However, my bitten dog ran back into the view of the camera wagging his tail happily... obviously not indicating the time of injury. The bite was serious. The puncture wounds were down to bone. Because my dog's injury was unnoticed for days, even though he had licked all the hair off his body at the site of injury (a lot of hair), it was too late for the vet to suture the wounds. Stitches must occur within 48 hrs of injury for both humans and dogs to avoid infection. The vet cleaned the wound and put him on the strongest injectable antibiotic available. I work in medicine, specifically in surgery, so my dog received more than appropriate post injury care. Since he unfortunately did not receive immediate care for the injury, the wound ended up getting a serious Staph infection that abscessed and ruptured. He ended up needing to have surgery. The Vet removed a 2 inch square of flesh down to the bone, pain killers, and another heavy antibiotic injection. The Vet further inspected the puncture wounds during surgery; and stated that the dog that bit him had a narrow canine to canine width with sharp teeth and there was no way it was our other dog, who has blunt canines far apart and an underbite. After 2 months of recovery my dog no longer limps, but now 6 months later still has so much trouble getting up from a lying down or a sitting up position. The owner agreed to pay for the vet bill; but she paid for the first portion and refused to pay the remaining bill. After spending over $30,000 in dog care with her business over the past years, I'm truly surprised at her lack of professionalism and her outright refusal to do the right thing. Frankly I don't care about the money, the fact that she had the audacity to blame our other dog strikes a flame in me that nothing else ever has. I will NEVER go back to Happy Paws and encourage you NOT to do business with this establishment. read more

I have been bringing my dog to Happy Paws for the past 3 years... The staff has always been fantastic and my dog really enjoyed going. Unfortunately my dog was seriously injured this past January on a clamp that was sticking out of the fence. It literally sliced her side open. She had 2 emergency surgeries and luckily survived. The owner is very difficult to deal with anyway- but was even more so during this situation. She offered to pay half the vet bills and give me some free daycare. When I expressed that I felt she should pay the full vet bill she got very nasty, but agreed that she would. Much to my dismay she did not follow through on paying and I had to take her to small claims court... Unfortunately I lost because of the waiver I signed when I first brought my dog there. Apparently the waiver protects them from paying- whether they are negligent or not. It was a bad situation turned into a nightmare. It really is a shame because if the owner would have handled the situation differently I still wouldn't have anything bad to say about them. But based on my experience I will never take my dog to any daycare again and will certainly think twice before signing any waiver. read more
