He is the worst vet EVER!!! I usually don't write reviews unless I really had a very bad experience...... He seemed affordable and very friendly in the beginning ...... But then I I discovered that he was just a liar and that he just wanna take money without really caring for my puppy ..... He wanted me to get some deworming medications that were too expensive in comparison to all other vets prices not only that but I figured out that my puppy doesn't actually have any of these worms after taking him to another vet to double check .... I would have given no stars but I have to give at least 1 to be able to write a review. I chose this place because it was close to home and claimed to have the best prices in the area. That couldn't be further from the truth! I needed to get my dog looked at because he had picked up some kind of skin rash from some stray dogs in our neighborhood. They had told me an exam was $65. I was ok with paying that thinking I would get answers and that would be it. Well....I go in and pay my $65. They called us back and dr came in. The exam portion lasted about 30 seconds. Then it was decided he needed a skin scrape. I asked the dr if it would be extra and he said everything after the exam was extra. That skin scrape was $55. He wanted to do other tests which were also $55 a piece but I told him I wanted to see the results of the scrape. When that test came back positive he said my dog would need medication. I'm thinking maybe a medicated wash and that's it. Oh no....there were 5 different things prescribed and after all the "extra" fees I had ended up paying $459. Unbelievable! I will never ever use this dr or clinic ever again! I felt that I had been robbed. I hope this saves someone else from throwing money away. read more

Does the job get done here? Yes, but they are UNHONEST!!I called to inquire about the puppy package which I was told verbatim "1st set of shots plus fecal exam" would be 48.50 for my puppy. I asked if that was a flat fee. He (the vet) said yes you will just have prescriptions to purchase if your puppy has worms. That was fine to. So I made the appointment for the same day. My husband took our puppy and came back home with a $212 Receipt!!! What?! ($60 of this was meds). He had a list of crazy charges "$40 for exam, $40 for fecal exam, $40 for various shots, and then the rest were silly "disposal" type charges. I was dumbfounded and duked. This place had just told me the first set of shots and fecal exam were less than $50. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! Very sketchy place. The receipt also had the fecal exam results whited out???? Why? read more

Being new to the area, we took our puppy in after discovering it had either injured itself trying to get out of her crate or bitten by another dog. I was told it would be $115 for the doctor to see her. Ok fine. Seems high but wanted her to get treated asap. I was holding her and the tech insisted I put I leash on her (the place was empty). In the exam room, the 2 month old puppy was muzzled and the doctor came in. He immediately said these are bite marks. Ok, she was injured from a bite, not escaping get crate. He didn't clean her wounds and advised me not to clean them when I got home. Her eye was injured so he put a cream in there, gave her 2 shots, and some antibiotics. I was informed it was going to be an additional $370. Ok fine, just make her better. We went back later after talking to several other vets in the area and informed that something isn't right so we went back for an itemized receipt. We found that their normal office visit is $85 but since this was an emergency it was $115 (again no one else was in the place) and when we started asking questions the doctor got very defensive and rude. I should have gotten the hint when there are signs all over saying not to question him and his medical expertise. Liar and a Crook: Been a client in the past without too much grief but this last incident sent me over the edge as I assume it would for anyone. My dog has had numerous allergy problems which includes chronic ear infections and rash on his paws. His ear flap filled with blood so we brought him in for a visit. My wife was told he needed surgery to drain the flap, we were told that worst case it could be as much as \ $ 1800.00 and needed to be done ASAP. So we scheduled it for the next day. Picked up the dog and was charged the full $ 1800.00. While there I requested an itemized bill because it only showed the $ 1800.00 but not broken down by what constituted the total price, I have sine requested it 4 more times only to be told it was a package deal and no breakdown is available, was told if they broke it down it would come out to be more and I would have to pay the difference ( in addition to $1800.00. brought him back a week later for a follow up and was charged $ 10.00 for follow up which should have been included (in my opinion) also needed another bottle of antibiotic ($40.00). So after this I did some checking on my own, I made an appointment with another Veterinarian to get the stitches removed as I wasn't going to give them another dime. I then went on line and found the antibiotic for his ear Batril Otic RX way cheaper. Dr. Ansari charges $ 40.00 for a 15 ML bottle which you get about a week if you're doing both ears. www.petsource.com has 30ML bottles for $ 22.65 a bottle so you get double the amount for basically half. So we take our dog to the other Veterinarian to get stitches removed and found that this surgery if done at their location would have cost me about $ 200.00 also this procedure is not really used much these days as there are other alternatives which were never discussed with us not the option presented for us to choose. We were shown in a veterinarian's medical journal that the stitches must be done vertically and our dog had some vertical and some horizontally. Stitched wrong could cause more problems going forward, so the idiot doesn't even know what the hell he is doing. Dr Ansari also told us after the surgery that our dog's ear drums were gone due the chronic infections. The new veterinarian said that's not true and verified that yes in fact his ears drums are still there. How can a licensed practitioner be so wrong? This Dr. is the worst of the worst. A few people have commented that they don't understand how his reviews can be so bad, well that's because he hasn't tricked you yet. I am going to contact the BBB and the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners which can be found at Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (http://www.tbvme.state.tx.us/). I also plan to take him to small claims court to try and get some of the charges refunded. Normally I am a very informed person but they prey on you when you're panicked and express the urgency that it needs to be done now. So as a good responsible pet owner who isn't going to go ahead and say yes let's do it. You only have your pet's best interest at heart. There is even more to this than I can write in here, otherwise it will be a 3 page review. All this being said I would NOT EVER take my pet back and I will tell anyone and everyone what a liar and a crook he is. I just hope that someone puts a stop to him practicing altogether. While I was visiting Houston, my Pit Bull had to be quarantined. I chose 529 Animal Hospital because of their proximity to the location where I was staying and the fact that they had availability. Marci, the Doc and all the vet techs were wonderful - which made a terrible situation much easier. They were very kind and understanding, explained the entire quarantine process to me and told me to call as often as I wanted to check on my pup - I called every single day and they were never annoyed or too busy to speak to me. When I picked him up, he was happy and healthy and had made friends with everyone there. One of the vet techs confessed that they may have given him a few too many treats... my response: How dare you love my dog while he's in the slammer! When we left, they gave him hugs and kisses, gave me a hug, helped me carry his things to the car and made me promise to bring him by to visit whenever we're in town. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience during a really tough situation. read more

Where do I start? I have never written a review but I can't stop thinking about this Dr and him taking care of poor little sick animals and I would hate for you to have the same experience. I took my dog to him on a Saturday afternoon to get blood work done because my dog was throwing up and drinking a lot of water. I have a regular vet that I go to and I'm thrilled with, I only went here because my vet was closed and I THOUGHT that since it was a vet hospital that would mean that they did the blood work in house and I wouldn't have to wait. They mislead me. After I went in and had the blood work done $500., he immediately wanted to take ex-rays and an abdominal ultrasound. I told him I couldn't afford $1000 so I would have to wait. I already knew I couldn't stand him but I was trying to be polite and my dog was growling at him and trying to lunch at him. I asked him if we could just start with the blood work and rule things out before we continued. We don't need to do an ex-ray and see if the dog has something in his stomach if his blood work shows something different...plus this particular dog is older and he doesn't chew on strange objects. The Dr. seemed very aggravated with me and told me that I need to commit to my animal and commit to the test if i want to take care of my dog. He was incredibly rude...I felt like he was trying to sell me something that didn't need to be. So Tuesday I go pick up my blood work results and I go in to talk about the results and he doesn't want to explain them to me because I am going to take the result to my vet anyway is what he told me. He was acting like a little toddler throwing a tantrum because he didn't get his way...he wouldn't even look at me. I ended up telling him he was an ass and had no respect for women and that I had paid him 500 buck the least he could do was explain the lab results to me. So he told me that my dog has probably been in liver failure for years and his teeth are in really bad shape and really really tried to make me feel bad and tried to make me feel like I negligent my poor dog. I go to my vet directly with my dog and the results. They looked at the results and went over every single thing on the panel. take and ex-ray $65 visit $15 and one additional blood test and urinalysis test $95. ...my dog had severe bladder infection. he is taking antibiotics and eating. I understand that in life we often meet people that we just don't like...I get it. But he was so so rude and acted desperate like he needed to juice me. That was wrong to do and it was really wrong to try and make me feel like im not committed to dogs. I don't have my dogs teeth cleaned because when I found him 11 years ago he had mange and the treatment was hard on him and he has seizures a couple times a year so I just never wanted to sedate him. From this whole experience that's what was most bothersome. i adore animals and i do a lot for stray dogs and he didn't have the right to try and take that away from me. DON"T GO HERE!!!! I brought my 11 year old dog here because he had all the signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure. I was initially caught off guard that I had to pre-pay for an exam. I told the receptionist that I came in because I thought my dog had CHF, so I'm sure I will have to pay for medicine later. I didn't understand why I needed to pay first rather than paying for the entire bill at the end. After the exam he suggested x-rays for another $300 which I again had to go up to the front and pay for before he would complete them. He completed the x-ray and showed me the images of my dogs enlarged heart and lungs, and excess fluid in his belly. Still, he suggested more treatment, such as a heart worm test, saying the heart and lung condition could be unrelated. I told him I am very knowledgeable about congestive heart failure and I know that the swollen lungs is from the blood pooling back into them because the heart isn't pumping efficiently. He said that "could be a possibility", and said he would proscribe an antibiotic and something to get rid of the fluid. I asked if he was prescribing Lasix, a diuretic, and he said yes. I told him it was the same thing as what humans take, and I could get it filled much cheaper at Walgreens if he would write the prescriptions for it and the Cephalexin. He claimed to be unsure if it was the same drug. (I am a pharmacy graduate, so if I know what congestive heart failure looks like and that the medicines were human medicines, he should definitely have known). He wanted to charge me $47 for each medicine and it was only a 7 day supply. I could have paid 1/3 of the cost at Walgreens. I called Walgreens while I was in his office to ask the price for the two medicines. The Pharmacist on duty told me to tell him to write for 25mg of Lasix because it did not come in 12.5mg for humans, which I could break the scored pill in half to create a 12.5mg twice a day dose. He refused to write for 1/2 pill twice a day, saying it was against the law. I might have fallen for this if I was not familiar with pharmacy and prescription law. Furthermore he said he charges $15 dollars per prescription to write it if he doesn't fill it in his office. By the time I left out of there I paid $442(swiping my card 3 times throughout the visit) for him to not even admit to the fact that my dog has CHF. Additionally, when I asked for the radiology report and x-rays I was told that will be a $15 fee for giving them to me. Needless to say I will get my report and x-rays tomorrow and I will not be back!!!! This Vet is only concerned about money. read more

Place is horrible! The staff is unprofessional, don't even greet you when you walk in,they just stare at you and always seem lost of what's going on. The doctor is even more of a moron! I went in to get a copy of my dog records b/c I'm moving and the doctor said that he couldn't give me copies because the lady that makes copies was off. Keep in mind he had the file in his hands and he could have easily done it for me. I asked if he could just make the copies and he refused and said that I would have to come back and that there would be a fee for the copies! I'm completely unsatisfied with this place, they lack customer service and professionalism! read more

I called in my emergency and asked the front desk assistant if I could bring in my dog for an emergency. He had multiple bite wounds from being attacked. She told me to bring him in as if they would be prepared. I arrived and signed in. She asked me where was the dog and I told her he was in the car. To heavy for me to pick up. She replied they had no one that could help get him out the car and that she was going to look for a cart to roll him in. She requested I fill out paperwork and I said ok I'm going back outside to sit with my dog who was currently bleeding out in the backseat. 20 minutes passed by and she never came back from the back. I could see through the glass of the door waiting for her to even return up to the counter. She never did. I went in asking and yelling for help. No one came to the front. Still my dog was bleeding out and going into shock inside my car. I had to leave and go to another vet to seek the IMMEDIATE attention I thought I would receive here. My dog died that day. IF THEY WOULD HAVE JUST TOLD ME WHEN I CALLED THAT THEY COULDNT SEE HIM MY DOG WOULD BE ALIVE. !!!! BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE NEXT VET IT WAS TO LATE !!! read more

I was NOT impressed with my first experience with this clinic. I brought an injured animal (not mine) in for emergency care, and staff was ill-prepared to handle this emergency, and was MUCH more concerned with payment BEFORE any type of treatment was even begun, even tho the dog was bleeding profusely and in severe pain after being hit by a car. I am only grateful the small dog survived. I will not repeat this mistake, and urge others not to make one themselves. read more

When we arrived, I was informed of a $5.00 admin fee and then a $3.50 waiste disposal fee! Of course, nothing was said about these so called fees over the phone! When my 4 old daughter, mother-in-law, aunt and I went in to see the doctor,he told me that I would need x-rays that are worth $300+, or just put him on antibiotics that were $60.00 but would take the chance of getting the SH*TS (cursing around my 4yr old!) & killing him. I didn't have the money for any of that and he then proceeded to tell me that I must not love my daughters pet.I was dumfounded. I was also told that Santa must not have been good to me since I didn't have the money and looked at me as to say, I need to make a decision and fast! (I repeat,all around my 4yr old) I had no words accept that I'll have to just take him home and figure something out. I just couldn't believe the comments he made to me and my daughter and for him to curse around my toddler had me very upset. Then to ridicule me about how I don't love my pet since I can't pay for the care he needed right then and there. THEN to tell me that Santa must not have been good to me since I didn't have the money.I felt very offended with his words of disrespect around my family and I! Especially around my daughter who said I didn't love her piggie because I didn't spend the money to heal him. You just don't talk that way around a 4year old or any child for that matter! This doctor is very offensive & I feel he should be repromanded for his lack of kind words and making me feel as though I am a horrible pet owner and mom. just started with this vet and he has been very nice to me and my baby Keara. staff was very friendly and its cheaper than any other vet i have been too. my dog has early signs of renal failure and the vet and i had formed a game plan to helping my baby get better. he seemed very genuine and eager to help and to get her started on a treatment right away. will return. read more

Do not go to this vet! Brought my dog here to get her spayed. Initial visit-the vet took a microscope slide, put it on my dog's private part and charged me for two tests. While his diagnosis of pyometra was accurate, he wanted to charge me $4000-$5000 for the surgery to spay here and remove the infection! He wanted me to make sure to call Care Credit before I left to get a credit limit increase and then said he couldn't guarantee my dog would make it through the surgery. I felt very uncomfortable with this and no way could I afford this and was actually looking to have my dog put to sleep because of this guy. Did my research and found other unfavorable reviews of this vet and got a second opinion. I'M SO GLAD I DID! I went to an established vet with a strong reputation who gave me the same diagnosis, prescribed antibiotics for my dog, AND performed the surgery for $1500. AND my dog lived and is thriving as we speak. BEWARE of this vet and please take your dog somewhere else if you don't want to pay 3 times more to have your pet cared for. He is a con artist. I went to him because he offered low cost spay ($30). To start I had to pay $78 up front before I even saw him. First red flag. I finally get back and he tells me my cat is in heat and that it will now cost $200. He told me that she had probably been in heat since she was born and would remain in heat forever!! I'm not an idiot. I told him this was absolutely untrue and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. I immediately took her to another vet and she is NOT in heat...which I knew all along. I mentioned this story to my sister in law and she tells me that this same vet told her that her dog had heartworms years back and that it would be $2000 for treatment. She took her dog to another vet for a second opinion and the dog did NOT have heartworms. When she went back to 529 and asked for paperwork on the heartworm tests he refused to show her anything. This man is a liar and a cheat I would never trust him with an animal. Do not use him. read more

I took my dog to be kennelled at 529 Animal clinic. When I took him he had loose stool, so Dr. Ansari examined him and told me he had worms. They gave him medicine & a special diet. When I picked him up I was told he was fine & no longer had loose stool. Of course, I take him home, and he still had loose stool. I called the clinic & was told to bring in a sample & they would test it again. I had to call several times for the results & was told Dr. Ansari was very busy, mind you my dog now had loose stool for an entire week! Due to the lack of concern & abruptness on his part, I took my dog to his regular veterinarian who has since fixed the problem immediately after taking him. I called 529 Animal hospital to get records of the recent shots Bordatella & Parvo they gave him and was told they were not allowed to fax records out, funny because they took my dogs records through fax when they needed them. I arranged for a friend to pick up the records with an official records release form & they refused to give them to her. I could here Dr. Ansari saying he would not release the records to her & no intentions of releasing them to me either. I asked to speak with him and he would not get on the phone. Bottom line is this. He is rude, ignorant, careless, and if you want copies of records for whatever reason, he will refuse. If he cared about my dog he would give the shot records so my dog won't have to get the same two shots that are needed every 6 mos. to a year. What he is doing is unethical and illegal! read more

You know I'm having a hard time believing these reviews because the time I went with my cat she had a giant hole near her butt that I freaked out and I called my regular vet and they turned my cat away so at the time I was desperate that I remembered this place I always drove by it and made the appointment. The receptionist was nice and she booked us. when we got there I filled out the usual paperwork and you know what I don't even recall them charging me before I even stepped into the back I just remembered going into the exam room and Dr. Ansari was really nice and he didn't try to add on anything he just mentioned getting my cat some flea medication which I declined and he didn't seem mad at all that I declined he also mentioned that I clean her teeth (which my other vet always recommends as well) I said no thanks and he prescribed some antibiotics and a ointment he also gave her a shot for my cat and sent us on our way. When I got home I immediately started the meds and the next day my cats hole had shrunk to half the size it was before. Ever since then I've recommended friends to this place. I do agree it is expensive I paid $350 for everything, but I also take my cats and dogs to Mayde Creek Animal hospital on fry rd and they're great but I've spent over $1,000 on my 15yr old cat who sadly has CRF and hyperthyroid. It just goes to show vets are expensive they're not cheap so I don't get why people are complaining about dr. Ansari and his prices. read more

My experience with this "vet" was horrible. I only took my dog here because his normal vet was off for the day and he was doing extremely bad and I didn't want to wait. So with that being said...We arrived 15 minutes early to our appointment and were made to wait 45 minutes to see the vet even though there was no one else there. Then when we finally got to go back to the exam room everything got worse. To start off there were no chairs to sit in, you where made to stand in the exam room. Then when my poor sick dog wouldn't come out of his cage, instead of waiting on my mother to finish unscrewing the screws to take of the lid he reached in and yanked my dog out causing him to start gagging. Then even though my dog sat right down and wasn't moving around the table he tied him to the table with an old rope. He asked what was wrong with my dog and I explained that a few days before his normal vet had diagnosed him with pancreatitis and sent me home with medicine but he wasn't doing any better. So he said he needed to run tests to see if my vet was even right about what he had. When I asked if there was a way he didn't have to run the tests he asked for the paperwork from the clinic. I said I did not have it with me because I normally don't see other vets but I did have the medication she had prescribed him and if he needed to he could call the clinic and get them to fax him the paperwork. His response was that the medication didn't mean anything to him and he wasn't going to call the clinic because that was my job not his. Then he proceeded to say it was no big deal to run the tests because it was simple; I then explained I understood the tests wouldn't hurt him because I was studying vet medicine I just didn't want to stress my dog out when he was already feeling so bad. He then asked where I was studying and when I told him he said he didn't know that school and it didn't matter he still needed to run the tests. My mother said that was fine but she would like to know what he would do for my dog when he confirmed that my vet's diagnoses was correct. He said he couldn't tell us because we didn't know if that was what it was. I then asked what he would do for an animal that he knew had pancreatitis and he told us the same thing, that he couldn't tell us until he knew that is what it was. When I interrupted him to say I understood that I just wanted to know what he would do he yelled at me that we both could not talk at the same time and if we would not do the test we could just leave. At this point I was tired of dealing with this man and said fine we will leave but I want my money back because you haven't even examined him yet. He refused to give me my money back, so my mom said if he would just tell us what he could do for my dog after he diagnosed him we would do the tests. Once again he refused to tell us, so I turned to my mom and said lets take him to the emergency clinic I am done arguing with this a**hole (true I should have held my tounge instead of calling him a name but it just came out). He then told me he was calling the police on me, I turned to him with a confused look on my face as my mom told him that wasn't necessary because we where leaving. He then realized we where truly leaving and tried to guilt trip us into staying by saying my dog really needed help, and I said I know that is why we are going to the emergency clinic where they will help him. As we where leaving his assistant apologized and said that this happens all the time. I will never take another pet there and I refuse to allow someone else to take their dog up their not knowing what they are getting themselves into. Luckily the emergency clinic up the road took care of my dog telling me what they would do for him before knowing what he had and without running the tests (they simply looked at his meds and confirmed that he had pancreatitis). read more
