After spending thousands of dollars at what i now consider my "previous" vet clinic (maydecreek animal health center) Yesterday I finally found a new vet place for my furrr babies. Its a bit of a drive from where we live but it was absolutely worth it. It was our first time visit yesterday and we were able to get an appointment on the same day for a sick visit! The lady that helped me book an appointment (Christine) was very helpful. The front desk lady that checked us in was very sweet and the gentleman that took my dogs vitals is also very nice and patient. Dr. Natalie is very caring, outgoing and knowledgeable! The place is very cozy, clean and homy. And most importantly, the prices are reasonable. Thank you for taking care of my babies! read more

Worst experience. We have a 17 year old scottie that we took to our regular vet 2 weeks ago. The vet agreed it was towards the end of his life but felt it wasn't time. He said watch for signs like no eating, drinking water etc. He went from 22 pounds to 14, and today 11. This weekend he seemed to take a turn for the worst. We are very concerned he's in pain and do not want him to suffer. He quit eating, drinking, vomiting and diarrhea and is not himself. We feared it's time and more than anything do not want him to suffer. Our vet is not back until Tuesday, and we did not want to take him to a cold emergency vet. I cannot even begin to explain the outright disrespect we received from this vet. She said if we didn't do bloodwork it would weigh on our conscience. Said I mean if you wanna put your dog down whatever I'll put it down. Meanwhile he had just projectile vomited in the room, he's lethargic and we simply do not want him to suffer if he is. She tried to say he had pancreatitis and just needs pain meds and tried to push all this expensive testing on us. On the way out her husband told us to go "f***" ourselves because we were rightfully upset. I am at a loss for words and disgusted. Have returned twice and today I walked out. Today was a money grab. They over scheduled and just left us sitting in the waiting room for an hour. So many owners with their dogs just sitting. HORRIBLE VET - Unilaterally cancels sick pet appointments!!! I have taken my dog Scout to Dr. G because it was convenient. However, I shouldn't have to take my dog back 2 additional times for the same problems. Dr. G gives these haphazard diagnoses. When I made my initial return with my pup, Dr. G prescribed the same medicine, but offered a $500+ test that would "definitively" show what could be causing my puppy's rash. Why wasn't this test offered at Scout's first appointment? My dog is definitely worth the money, but I have to budget for that kind of expense. Fast-forward to this last flare up, I get a call the day of the appointment and am told Dr. G was out of the office, and wouldn't be in for the rest of the week. I asked them to call the doctor to find out what I could give Scout in the meantime to help because she was in agony. I never received a call back. Dr. G and her staff obviously don't care about my sick pup. Lesson learned!! I will tell anyone and everyone who has animals not to take them to Dr. G. read more

I would not recommend taking my pets here to be treated by Dr. Natalie. There was negligence on her end for not taking my dog's symptoms seriously. My dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma and was only 5 years old. She told us that he's still a young dog and most likely be able to survive after chemo. The problem was when we went in for our first visit and told the staff AND her about him not eating, losing 10lbs in the course of a few weeks, vomiting, having diarrhea/ having trouble even going, none of that alarmed her. We circled back the same week and all she did was prescribed meds after meds while stating that "she didn't know" when its in the medical notes. My dog severely needed chemo treatment and we got no help from the staff to help us urgently book. I understood that the oncologists were booked, but we were not advised by Dr. Natalie to go to ER or take any further action. My boy never made it to his chemo appointment as the cancer reacted quickly. All those symptoms were a result from his organs failing, which she did not catch or do further tests. ER doctors were alarmed that Dr. Natalie did not advise or help further after describing the same symptoms. All and all, she was my second opinion from my first doctor and I highly regret it as I could've saved my dog. Also, I do agree with the recent reviews that they just care about money. We spent $700 on our first visit and $200 on unnecessary medications. read more

Decent facility, but seem to be more about the money than the animals. The vet tech was horrible-manhandling my cat that was basically paralyzed from the waste down to get weight. Said he wasn't in pain, when the vet said he was in severe pain. Not even compassionate when we had to euthanize. Not the first time we didn't have a great experience there. We moved on. read more

I have brought my dog here for over 4 years, but due to reasons unbeknownst to me, we have been dropped as clients. I only was made aware of this because I called for his Trifexis prescription, for the third time mind you, and was told we were no longer welcome at copperfield. I asked why, I of course was flabbergasted being as we have always come here since moving to Houston. I got no explanation and no warning. For the past 4 months it had been on my mind that I wanted to change vets. There was a change in the quality of care we got around this time. But due to the busy nature of my life, we did what was convenient and continued to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I should not have done this. The thousands of dollars we have spent here when we could have gone somewhere else for cheaper, but decided to stay loyal. The hours spent driving because we have never lived close, gone to waste. We were loyal to them, they were not loyal to us. Too many times to count they did not email me as promised, nor return my phone calls. When they do, it's always very late. Anyone else go to bed early nowadays or is it just me? It's not acceptable for a vet to call so late, I expressed this. Maybe that's why they dropped us from the books. The staff were consistently rude as well, always having an attitude and never an explanation as to why they hadn't fulfilled their obligations to us. I paid good money to get my dog seen here, and they don't even have time to email the documents? Don't tell them you need anything by a certain date, they do things in their own sloth-paced time. I had had an issue with Bentley (my dog) having partial seizures, the vet was not even aware of the type of seizure he was having. I had to explain multiple times what was happening. She told me, "Oh he's just anxious" seriously? How is it that a vet cannot recognize a seizure. I asked them to perform an allergen test on him during an appointment, they never did it and never informed me that they hadn't until I specifically asked about it. Save your money, save your time, save your frustrations, save your ears from the attitude-laden receptionists. Do not go here. read more

We have been using the services of Dr G since 2018. We recently visited the practice because our cat, Benjamin (Ben) was bleeding through the nose. Of course we were concerned and Ben needed to see a vet as soon as possible. We were grateful to get a same day appointment since during the pandemic it was impossible to get a vet appointment any where. Dr S was very gentle and caring when he was handling Ben. My dog had multiple medical conditions for years and was being managed by a wonderful vet at Gulf Coast Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, he acutely decompensated one weekend and his regular vet was out of town. We made him an urgent appointment at Copperfield Animal Clinic and had his paperwork from Gulf Coast faxed over. The Copperfield vet wanted to redo many labs and testing that had already been done to rule out many diagnoses that had already been ruled out, then made me feel guilty when I said I just wanted him to be comfortable and controlled until I could follow up with Gulf Coast. She went so far as to say she "had brought animals down from heaven's gates before." After shaming me, we finally agreed on fluids and anti-emetics. My dog passed away later that night. Testing would have been expensive, unnecessary, and futile.. and I didn't appreciate the vet's attitude after seeing my dog for all of 10 minutes. read more

My first visit with the Vet was great and initially I was happy. Would have been 5 stars. But I have not been impressed with follow-up tech appointments. My last visit the tech was condescending in her tone with me about the breed and that I hadn't gotten her spayed yet. She seemed rushed maybe at the end of the day. I try to be understanding as who knows what had happened to her in the day. All in all she was not helpful. My visits after the first one seemed more and more expensive. I'm not sure on pricing as they wanted $783 to spay my 15 pound puppy. I realize they are not subsidized to perform this and have to make a profit but it's a large amount. Maybe explain that and let clients know there are low cost clinics that can spay puppies for a fraction of that as they are subsidized to ensure it is affordable to spay puppies. I assume they don't want to spay and they price high for that reason. Again explaining alternative spaying options would be good. It's not like clients would completely switch over. For the prices I would expect premium service and just didn't seem to get that after my first visit. While I think the Vet cares and is good I'm not sold on the staff. And if you see the tech more than the Vet, that's important. read more

I spent $450 (Care Credit) for a problem with in-grown claw on my elderly cat. It turns out that other vets charge only $10 for the same procedure. Needless to say a refund was out of the question. This was over the top in my book, but you live and learn. If I had gone to just about any other vet I would not have paid nearly as much. Maybe you should do the same. read more

I am never, ever, ever bringing my pets here for any reason again. I came in on a Friday night with my dog, he had droopy eyes, kind of sunken in... looked like a stroke at first so I brought him in for a checkup. This was late in the day... close to their closing time. Everyone was kind, but felt a little rushed, like I couldn't ask extra questions. They put a dye in his eye and didn't notice anything strange, so no big deal. Initially diagnosed with allergies, we were asked to give him drops, ointment to reduce inflammation, and Benadryl for allergies. Dr knows best! So we took a week to do this treatment every day. After a week, we didn't notice any improvement... so I brought him back to the vet, maybe to diagnose for something different. They didn't even bother doing any tests this time. We were just told keep doing what you're doing, we're given new ointment and new drops and sent on our way. After week 2, his eye was looking worse, so we decided to get a second opinion. The second doctor immediately took his eye pressures and found my dog was now diagnosed with Glaucoma and had lost his eyesight probably a week before. Overall, the treatment for this misdiagnosis was over $2000... had this vet diagnosed him correctly right off the bat, we could have treated the glaucoma. But now my dog has lost his eyesight. To really put the cherry on top, I reached out to the Dr. to request a refund for my visits, since they were a total waste of my time and money. She called me back and basically said I didn't follow her instructions properly, and she doesn't see a reason to give me my money back. I'm not the kind of person to take my dog to the vet on a Friday night and not follow vets directions. I'm also not the kind of person to spend thousands of dollars on her pet and not follow vets directions. It is insulting how stupid she is making me feel over $200. I'm in the process of getting paperwork together for small claims court for negligence. This whole experience was ridiculous not to mention expensive. Moral of the story.... save your pet and your money and don't bring your pet here for anything serious. TLDR: dr misdiagnosed my pet, blamed me for it and refuses to refund the small amount of $200 when her misdiagnosis cost me over $2k. read more

We've boarded her here 3 times now and everytime she's back happy, smells amazing and the staff always has great reports about her personality which shows me they are really spending time with her! Being a rescue we were nervous to leave her with anyone but Copperfield has been absolutely phenomenal for our family! They even play along when we tell our three year old his puppy is going to Paw Patrol School! The staff is always makes sure our son is also calmed about leaving his best friend. I ran over a lost doggy a few days ago! I looked frantically for a animal clinic that was still open to see him immediately. Although he looked hurt there wasn't any visible open wounds at first besides a small cut under his eye so I didn't think an ER was necessary if a Clinic didn't suggest it. Just to be sure I wanted a quick response from someone. Copperfield Animal clinic scheduled me for a visit 30 min before they were closing. They took the time to see him unlike other clinics in the area that won't be named because it was close to their closing times. They were quick in response, kind, friendly and very loving to the pup. I took my polydactyl cat here to have her claws trimmed and found that only two months later (today) she had an infected paw and the other vet (different clinic) said there was no way the claw was trimmed - since it was so ingrown and pierced her paw. It had to be pulled out and bled quite a bit and caused a lot of pain for my furry friend. I trusted this clinic to trim her claws and am sad that they didn't do what they were supposed to do. I called Dr. Z and she wasn't pleasant just as she wasn't when I took my cat to her in the first place. She did refund me the exam and claw trimming fee, but said I should take my cat to the other vet - clearly didn't want me to come back when I wasn't in the wrong for asking for a refund when the tech didn't complete the claw trimming like she was supposed to. Our review is mixed. We brought our dog to this clinic when our vet couldn't see him. He can be a little difficult unless you take your time with him and we let the receptionist know ahead of time. She seemed very aggravated with us. The tech (think her name was Mundi) came in and took her time gathering information while she let our dog get used to her. He was still nervous, so she asked if it was ok that she took the dog into the back. About 20 min later she came back in with him. We were shocked!! He was loving all over her. He would leave our side just to run over to her and give her kisses as she explained what the dr felt the problem was. Our dog NEVER acts like this. She said she just took him in the back and sat down on the floor with him until he got comfortable enough to come to her on his own. She really listened to us and obviously took the time that he needed. Her love for animals and her love of her job really shows. We weren't really that impressed with the dr, but we only saw her for 5 min. We will definitely bring him back to Copperfield because of that tech. I've used this vet for both my dog and my cat for the last 2 1/2 years. I've always been very pleased with everyone there. The ladies at the front desk are so kind, every assistant that has seen us has been extremely helpful and Dr. Zeisloft is the best. I have never left there wishing that they would have done more or something different. You can tell that Dr. Zeisloft really cares about animals. When I bring my dog in she is always happy to see her and even asks about my cat. When I called because my dog was limping I talked to a lady at the front desk and she gave me sound advice. An hour or so later Dr. Zeisloft called to check on her. I trust them completely with our animals care. read more

I made an appointment for my 8.5 year old cat just to do a senior bloodwork check-up. About an hour after dropping her off, I get an aggressive voicemail saying that they don't have any of her vaccine records on file and that they will be administering a rabies vaccine (without my consent) and told me in the voicemail that there would be "no if's, and's, or but's about it" (that's a direct quote from the voicemail). EXCUSE ME?! For starters, she has already received several rabies vaccines from my previous vet in another town, and secondly, it's not their right to tell me what treatments they will be giving my cat without my consent! I believe that they gave her the rabies vaccine without even talking to me first! But then when I picked her up, they said that they didn't (even though the rude voicemail indicated that they had), and then they told me that my cat could no longer come to their clinic unless I agreed to a rabies vaccine. My cat has already had multiple rabies vaccines and she is an inside cat! This clinic was rude and unprofessional. I spent over $200 for this checkup; I should not have been treated so rudely. And whether they ended up giving her the vaccine without my consent or not, they still were so ill-mannered and unprofessional. Not to mention, this clinic is way over priced compared to other clinics in the area. I will not be returning. read more

I'm leaving two stars because this clinic is fast with service and their staff are all polite. We visited 3 times. Our puppy threw up and there were worms in it. We brought him in and the staff and vet checked him out, gave us medicine, and we left. My husband came by himself the second time while I was at school and they told him it was bad the last time we brought our puppy in, but its looks better this time, although he still has worms. They said to give him another treatment of medicine. Next visit my husband was at work so I had to bring our puppy by myself. Not knowing what they had said to my husband when he went I thought it was fine that they told me that it was bad the last time we brought our puppy in, but its looks better this time, although he still has worms. I called my husband and informed him that our puppy had worms still. He asked what they said was going on, and when I told them what they said, he was shocked. He said they told him the exact same thing when he went. We went to another vet instead and guess what...they said our puppy didn't have any worms when they tested him. I can not recommend a place that I feel like was shady to us. Did they not think I would tell my husband what they said and that we would catch on to what was happening? So $300 later, at least our puppy doesn't have worms. The medicine worked, but how much more would they try to sell us? Would our puppy get sick from unnecessary medicine, and then they try to give him something else to fix that? Not happy. Won't be returning. On a side note, our puppy also got a really bad cold (bad green/ yellow not and cough) when we went in the first time. So not sure how clean this place is, although it looks to be in decent shape. They need to disinfect the rooms between patients. read more

It's been two weeks I am leaving messages with her and staff to have their doctor to call me back regarding my sick cat ! I guess they don't even give doctor message . I personally drove there to talk to doctor , she said doctor is in surgery and will not disturb her and when I asked why nobody giving her message she bluntly asked me to pay another consulting fee ! When I asked to speak with doctor first as doctor had not checked my cat since last time , she started rudely talking to me and said she will call Harris county sheriff for services theft !!!! unfortunately, the requirement to have a "wellness check for a fee" on a dog that has been with me since birth, and had surgery and diagnosed with cancer makes no sense to me. I don't believe another exam will change the fact that my baby has cancer. While I understand some might actually put completely well dogs down, not offering a no exam option on a dog that has been well cared for and carefully diagnosed already is just a money making option for a clinic. A few months ago our boxer/lab mix who is an inside dog nipped our neighbor's grandson's leg and left a puncture. We were just as scared as the boy and immediately took him to the minor emergency. After a cleaning we all went home but was told that all dog bites have to be reported which we totally understood. A couple of days later we found a notice on our front door that our dog needed to be quarantined for ten days which was our fault because we hadn't kept up with his shots. I called Copperfeild and they said they could hold him. I called twice a day checking on him and each time was told he was doing great. When we picked him up he was happy and looked good other than being a little thin. So when we needed to have him and our terrier mix boarded for a couple of nights while we went out of town this week we left them there thinking of the past good experience. We brought both of their shot records but was told the terrier was missing one needed for boarding and that she also needed an entry exam because she had never been there. I was fine with that due to a couple of issues she was having. We left out of town and again I called to check on them in the mornings and in the evenings and both days I was told they were doing "great" with "no problems". When my husband and son went to pick them up yesterday the receptionist said we owed over $500. What??? The invoice showed that our boxer/lab was given unneeded vaccinations! When asked why they were given, my husband was told that he agreed and signed for them which was not the case at all. A male vet finally came to the front and appologized for the mix up and said that the extra shots wouldn't harm him. At home we noticed that our dog's right eye was totally blood shot and that he just wasn't himself. He even peed a little on the floor. This morning I called to ask on some instructions about medications that were given to our terrier because they had not been explained. I also mentioned the red eye and the extra shots. The receptionist said she would have the vet call me. The vet said that she asked the techs and no one knew of how it could have happened. The vet suggested that it happened on the way home while our dog pulled on his leash. She also informed me that we would no longer be able to board him there anymore because he bit one of the techs in the back of the neck and that she had to go to the ER. She said he was too aggressive and couldn't be handled. I asked why was I told that everything was "great with no problems" every time I called to check on them then? She said because my dogs were fine but her worker wasn't and that this had happened about twenty minutes after we dropped him off. She was nice enough to let me know that we wouldn't be responsible for the ER bill because they have insurance. If he was such a Cujo why weren't we told that when he was there for ten days and why did they agree to board him again? I just find it suspicious that they can't see him there anymore now after they messed up on his vaccines and he came home with a blood shot eye. Our pets are our kids and we need to be careful with who we leave them with. So if you want to be charged for services your pet doesn't need or want your pet to be accidentally given the wrong medication or want your pet to be mistreated Copperfield Animal Hospital is definitely the vet to take them! read more

I always feel very comfortable bringing my pets to Dr. Goldberger. She is so good with all animals, & her love for them is immediately obvious. My pets have always received top-notch care from her and all the staff. She is so kind and friendly, always seems very happy in her work! She is a pleasure to be around. We were recently just in for vaccination/exam updates, but she discovered a liver ailment in my Pomeranian that we weren't aware of. Fortunately it is treatable and with a little medication she should be fine. Glad we found out about it! And last year, my Jack Russell was torn up by a large dog, and although Dr. G was not in the office at that time, the staff there took me in right away, got him cleaned up and stitched up, and I will forever be grateful for the care my little boy received; he is now healthy as ever! read more

I really felt the Doctor and the Tech were helpful and sincerely cared for my kitty. He got an infection from a fight and they were able to tell me what was wrong and how to best treat him. He received meds and they did not push me to do extra unnecessary testing and also gave me options for treatment. The doctor took her time and explained all of my questions. The staff was attentive and caring. The prices for things were also better than some of the others in the Copperfield area that have a good rep as well.
