Their interview process was so professional; talked me through everything upfront so I knew what to expect. Facility: very clean! My dog never comes home "stinky" even after a few days of boarding and all-day play. Also appreciate the ability to check on my doggy via the live feed cameras. Staff: so far everyone I've interacted with has been very nice. I was a helicopter mom the first time I boarded my baby with them and, in addition to stalking the live camera feed (I have no shame), Devin was patient with me when I called and gave me a play by play on how my dog was doing. Under the current owner, I have continued using the service despite it being an expensive grooming appointment ($120 each visit), expecting the same level of care and professionalism. After picking up my dog, I noticed his eyes were very red and he could barely open them. I called to calmly ask if anything might have happened during the grooming process. This was not an accusation, simply a concerned pet owner trying to understand what may have caused the issue. I was not given any clear explanation or details, and instead the owner Henry became immediately defensive, repeatedly insisting he "doesn't keep secrets" and that nothing happened. I was interrupted multiple times while trying to explain my concern, and the conversation felt tense and dismissive. After the call ended, I heard him yell "god damn" in the background. When I called back to ensure everything was okay, he stated he was "hangry" and again insisted nothing happened. He later left a voicemail that felt erratic, repeatedly mentioning he was hungry and stressed, referencing having "a lot of pots on fires," and stating he would make a note on my account. While I understand that business ownership can be stressful and that issues can occasionally occur, the lack of transparency, combined with the emotional volatility and erratic nature of the voicemail, was concerning. It raised questions about professionalism, emotional regulation, and overall safety in how customer concerns especially regarding animal wellbeing, are handled. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable returning or recommending this business.

When one our dogs had cancer and was on chemo she had to be separated from other dogs but the staff made sure she had extra cuddles and walks not to mention giving her the meds. Doggie day care is second to none! Lots of room to run and play outside with plenty of supervision. This is the only place I will take my dogs and cat.

Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Mayde Creek's building is so fancy that I was convinced I was in the wrong place til I saw the receptionist. Tall ceilings, marble tile floors, columns outside, a mini courtyard, the whole shebang. Dr. Melody Palmer was very pleasant to chat with and said that I impressed her with my hedgehog husbandry knowledge (I then heard her go to the back and tell the vet techs back there that I knew my stuff, THEN go to the front and say the same thing- MAJOR EGO BOOST. This appointment was months ago at this point and I'm STILL preening from the compliment.) She made sure I knew everything I needed to know and was more than willing to give in depth explanations if needed. Everybody there was really friendly and since my Delilah was very curious and well behaved the appointment went by very very quickly. I did not wait long at all to begin even though I was 20 minutes early. I left my dog along with my cousins for 3 nights in the same large size cabin. Plenty of space for both and they had access to a run through a doggy door. For my cousins dog they were super nice and put a ramp for him since he was probably going to tumble down the step or 2 two once out the doggy door. Staff is super nice, really appreciated they washed the blanket and towel we left with them. Girl apologized that the bed wasnt washed in time so I appreciated the effort considering I was prepared to do that anyways. I chose this place because of the open outdoor space they had as well as its far enough away from heavy traffic. I have an anxious dog and I figured less noise would help her sleep a bit better. Staff was also great about giving her her meds! Thank you to the lovely girls I encountered working there, id definitely bring my dog back here if she ever needs to be boarded again.

Wish we had found Sydney sooner to save ourselves the hassle and time with trainers who don't know how to handle a purebred working breed. Our boy's main issue was reactivity with other dogs while walking him on a leash in the neighborhood. Sydney trained and educated us by giving us the tools to manage our stubborn, and strong, puppy. We've been going to Sydney for over a year to keep up the obedience and our boy is doing things we never thought would be possible before, such as sitting quietly in a room full of other dogs, and walking past reactive dogs in the neighborhood without incident. Sidney is the BEST dog trainer hands down!! We have tried other trainers for Ellie and comparing…read moreour experiences, Sidney has changed our lives for the better. He is a retired k9 police officer from Chicago and does REAL WORLD training. No tricks or treats. We first knew of Sidney when we saw him hold classes right outside of the dog park and we thought it would be the perfect training for Ellie. She would get easily distracted even by a leaf or a butterfly and take off. Also, she needed some obedience training. Fast forward, we have been training with Sidney for almost a year and we keep coming back. He knows how to read your dog to bring out the best in each of them. We went in wanting to learn obedience, and we keep wanting to learn more to see what else she is capable of doing. We truly enjoy the time we spend with Ellie in training classes each week and incorporating these skills in our routines at home. Ellie is a very well trained dog and we can actually walk her off leash with confidence that she will not wander off. We have also competed and placed in AKC rally competitions in her first weekend. If you're willing to put in the work with your dog and want to meet other hard working dog owners, come check out Total Control K9 College. We practice at Bill Archer Dog Park every Saturday morning around 9-11 AM and Wednesdays at Preppy Pet parking lot on Highway 6 and Rippling Waters at 7PM - rain or shine.
