So I followed the link. HAPPY TAKOS. I walked in and was instantly greeted by a beautiful smile. Her name was Natalie. I told her I was craving a huge burrito one for me one for my wife and I also wanted to try one of their amazing looking breakfast taco tacos. Now what I expressed was obviously something that was not on the menu however, they had zero issues making me a huge burrito.. This thing was massive me and my wife both ate half of it and the second half looks like it's still a full burrito. lol. The flavor is incredible. The breakfast taco was amazing. The staff was awesome. Even the kitchen staff waved to me as I was leaving the building. They were very happy to accommodate my order.. This place was clean service was extremely fast and everything was done with a smile and love. I will absolutely be back. I'm not bullshitting when I say this is my new favorite place. We've been long time customers since the old gas station days. We will not be back. Food quality was lacking, food was cold. Hubby and I ordered 4 tacos, 2 hurricanes and 2 chubby chorizos, and a small chilaquiles. We made sure to ask for 2 forks as we planned on eating at the park. We were super excited to get to the park and eat, despite the girl who took our order did not ring up half our order. I opened the bag and to my surprise, no forks, no napkins... I couldn't even eat my chilaquiles. So sad. So we pivoted. Decided to try the hurricane taco. The potato pieces were huge, about the size of a ping pong ball, wth. Taco was cold. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars for Happy Takos. There's plenty of parking AND a drive thru which is really nice. I didn't realize this and ordered via online pickup which was totally unnecessary. I walked in and there were a few folks eating inside but it wasn't busy and I didn't have to wait in line at all to get my food. The young man who handed me my food was polite so the service was good. The ambiance reminded me of torchy's tacos but smaller. The ingredients, tortillas, veggies, etc all tasted fresh. The Boss Hogg breakfast tako with pork guisada, refried beans, cheese and an egg over medium was unique and it was nice having it and the chorizo and egg tako at 3PM. Th ground beef tako was typical but super fresh. My faves were the Boss Hogg Tako and the ground beef sope. The masa sope was delish. The runny egg on the Boss Hogg really kicked the tako up a notch and made it nice and juicy. I would say though overall everything was kinda bland. It seemed as if it needed a little more salt/seasoning. I added a little more salt but that didn't seem to do the trick. I added the sauces provided and while they weren't awful, they were also a bit bland so they did nothing for the tacos. I would return and look forward to trying some of their other options. Been here a few times with my coworkers and on a Sunday passing through Alvin. The last few times my order has been wrong. Today was the last straw. Asked for green chicken enchiladas, simple order on the menu. Here's the kicker, asked for it to not come with onions nor cilantro. When the plate came it had onions and cilantro. They couldn't even follow what the waiter "wrote" down. He apologized and returned the plate. When he came back with a new plate it was green enchiladas with ground beef and onions on top. Saw their sign off of hwy 35 between running errands. The advertised "drive-thru" billboard caught my attention and caused me to u-turn. Their menu had several posted options. I had high hopes for the "cali burrito," but was disappointed. It was more like a chipotle bowl. It had a lot of dark green lettuce. Mainly rice and beans. The homemade flour tortilla and fresh avocado were the best part. The fajita steak pieces were just tiny, salty crumbles. I can't justify a $12 burrito. I'd revisit for breakfast tacos... seems to be their specialty! read more

Good food and prices. I like the varieties of sauces. Never a long wait at the drive-thru or inside.

I'm going to have to give this four stars but my friend would give it five. She got steak tacos; I got the chicken Gringo tacos. Mine just didn't have much flavor. I keep putting the salsa from the chips on it to try to get some flavor into it. But my friends steak was really good. I'll try it again another time and update this if I change my mind. My advice: try it. you might like it. It definitely was not bad - just a bit bland for me. read more

Needs Faster service, drive thru lines are always super backed up. Food is always super greasy

The food and service was amazing. I was finally happy to find a place that has nachos with loaded toppings. For those eating halal, I was told the refried beans do not have pork. The enchiladas were SO good. I didn't even take a picture because I finished them so fast. Tortillas are homemade and sauces are delicious! Finally happy to have great Mexican food!!! Enchiladas were dry (not near enough sauce) and had way too many onions in them. Beans were beyond runny. When we got the bill we saw they charged us $8 for a glass of lemonade! $8! Festive little place. I immediately wanted to order at the counter but that's not how they do it. A waitress will seat you and take your order. For starters, the sweet tea was great, beautiful color, not weak. The flour tortillas appear to be from scratch as well as the corn chips for the salsa. The Salsa was 5 flames - loved the flavor. Chip n' salsa served complimentary with our order. Good breakfast tacos. Tortillas were a little too under cooked for me -next time I'd ask for it extra toasted. Not many vegan items. Meat on everything!!! Of coarse you could ask them to take it off but not sure if there's a price adjustment. Next time I'd like to try the nachos or enchiladas. As someone who prides himself in knowing what am actually "California burrito" should taste like since I lived in San Diego for a better part of fifteen years, I'd have to say that this one is by far one of the best ones I've had in the entire Houston area. That statement could honestly go either way since the greater Houston area is not necessarily known for California style Mexican food altogether, but there are a couple other places that TRY and get it right. Houston has a lot of taco shops... but holy cow this place is fire. Hardest part is picking what to order because its all so good.

Service was quick and tacos had great flavor! Great prices for the size too, we will absolutely be back!!

I can't say enough about this little diamond jewel! Chips and almost the best salsa I've ever made! And not just a little portion cup, a big bowl. Then there's the menu, the prices and the quantity. My 1st stop I ordered the Beef Fajita meat, corn tortillas, cilantro. Then the most popular Hurricane taco! Then the sweet waitress asked if I wanted a free Margarita! Swing! They have no liquor license, but they can serve a free one! Rocks, frozen, flavored.... Heaven. I finished my meal, more than satisfied, and then the sticker shock.... My bill! Was there last night at 8:30pm(they close at 9pm). We sat down next to another couple that was finishing up. After a few minutes, a young guy that worked there came out and told us that they were only taking to go orders, so we couldn't eat in the dining room. I was a little surprised, because they have signs up for their happy hour that free margaritas are served until 9pm... when I mentioned that to him, he said he could still get us a margarita if we waited for our order in the lobby...totally thought this was pretty ride at that point. So we waited while our kids were starving, for him to finally bring out our order, which he gave to us in a large bag with everything all packed up. We had driven all the way from Pearland, so we were about 20 minutes from home-tacos are not really the type of food that lasts real well during long periods of time in to/go boxes....my kids at this point were very unhappy that we had to drive all the way home before they could eat, and we were all tired at that point. So we get home, check the bag, and find out that this employee hadn't given us my daughter's meal-a $10 quesadilla plate! She was very sad, and I felt the need to at least call and let the guy know about this. At that point, it was 9:04pm and I let the phone ring multiple times, but the dude wouldn't answer . Fourth drive thru visit and I am pleased to say food and service has been consistent. Not one misstep. Courteous, friendly & helpful employees. Large portions served hot which is a huge plus! And food is fresh, and flavorful! A few other local fast food restaurants could take a lesson from Happy Tacos.
