I've been to Happy Takos 3 times. I've tried the chicken burrito, their breakfast tacos, and their Hurricane Burrito and all three times I couldn't even finish my food because it was gross. They don't offer any mild salsas either. However, the customer service is great and the staff is friendly. read more

I'd love to pick up takos on my way to work often, but the way they operate it's inconvenient. When they were in the gas station I'd phone it ahead, go in grab takos and pay. Second time I phoned in an order, but before 6 they make you go through drive in line, negating any time you prob would've saved phoning it in. I was almost late for work today because instead of walking in, paying for takos, and walking out, I sat behind a truck for 5-7 minutes. I couldn't help to think if the line was 5 deep. Which it can be sometimes. So I love the place, would def go again when visiting Alvin, but never on my way to work anymore. Maybe I'll save this place for the way home. Tonight was my 2nd time to have Happy Takos since they opened the store front and boy did I come on to a sweet surprise. Its Margarita Monday! So I sipped on a delicious refreshing beverage while I waited for my to-go to be prepared. I got my 2nd free 'Rita and it was equally delicious as the one before. Gabby/Manager came over to chat and she was so nice, she made me feel welcomed and talked to me liked we were long time friends. Before I could finish my drink my order was ready. My first visit we went on a Saturday and only two others tables were occupied. While food was delicious, the service was lacking. Tables were cleared of dishes but table tops had not been wiped down. There were 4 employees working that I could see. Returned the following Monday as it was Free Margarita Monday's. Requested one margarita and never received it- asked twice and gave up. Place was packed and 5 workers that I could see. Again service was lacking. No one seemed to know which area they were working - they were all over the place. After being there 20 minutes place was down to 4 tables and service still lacking. Never got refills, asked if we needed anything. When we asked for our check it took 15 minutes. I am big on service and this place is totally lacking. I have always been one to tip generously and even more so if the service is exceptional. I watched one worker clean a table and all she did was take napkins, spray Windex on the table and wipe everything onto the floor and chairs while two guests stood there waiting for that table and watching. Did not even bother to wipe the chairs off. I had the Cali burrito and it was big and delicious! The hurricane burrito was also big and good. The breakfast tacos are amazing! I would give this a higher star rating but due to the lack of service on two separate times and observing how busy, how many workers, etc. I could only give it a one star for service. I love that I can get breakfast tacos all day. Their salsas are delicious but dang it can be hot. So good I just keep burning my mouth lol. The drive-thru can be very slow. In general i think they just take time to cook the food. We have liked the smothered burritos and the variety of nachos and fries. read more

I loved Happy Tako when they were at Raceway and was so excited to see them reopen in there own place. I can understand waitng a while on opening day, because other people were as excited as I. Fast forward a few weeks, went by for a couple of tacos this morning. I'm sitting at the drive through for several minutes, waitng for a human, and I wait, and wait, and wait some more. Finally after what's seemed like 10 minutes I ordered my simple Mexican tacos. Then the girl told me It would take 20 minutes. I could go buy all the stuff, cook it, and eat it, in that time. I'm sorry but they need to get the priority straight. Selling tacos is the bread and butter when they were at Raceway. I like there extended menu but I won't be eating there until they get faster at taking care of the customers. read more

Had heard about them before they opened in their present location. They'd been opened for a while when I made my 1st trip in. Now there's no other choice. The Happy in the name seems to be a prerequisite to hire because every time I go, whether inside, or the drive through I'm met with a genuine smile and the food is great so why go anywhere else? Oh. I'd recommend this place as long as you avoid the meat due to the quality. The chicken & beef fajitas were both cut up into tiny pieces, which were just flavorful, chewy, fatty chunks (I tried different meat, hoping it wouldnt be fatty, but it was the same) it's obvious that they know how to season their food. The 3rd type of meat was fatty as well.The salsa was cold, very spicy, and tasty. It did not have a chunky texture. Chips were fresh. The lemonade was freshly made, not tart at all, & slightly sweet. The women's restroom was family friendly & clean. Customer service was exceptional. If the meat quality was dramatically improved, this could definitely be a 5 star restaurant. read more

I used to have to travel 35 minutes to get some good chilaquiles. Not anymore! They were so delicious here and close to home. My husband got the boss hog breakfast taco, and he loved it as well.
