A craving struck for sushi and I've been meaning to visit Happy Teriyaki since it's fairly close to me. Came here for a midday meal during the week and I was able to be seated right away. Comfortable, hole-in-the-wall type of atmosphere and really kind staff with quick service. Perfect lunch spot, if you ask me! You're started off with complimentary miso soup, which was delicious. Always nice to warm up with that on these cold days, too! I ordered a California Roll and the Spicy Ninja Roll. The California Roll was packed to the brim and super delicious. The Spicy Ninja Roll was the star of the show, though. It definitely has a kick and was STUFFED. It has spicy crab, torched salmon on top, and then drizzled with a spicy sauce. My mouth is literally watering thinking about it right now, so I might have to order some for lunch now... I noticed they also have pretty solid lunch deals too. Wow, this place is a gem. Great service. I tried ramen for the first time and it tasted like it was made in heaven. I recommend!

So many food options! My dad recommended this spot as he goes weekly... the service was excellent and the menu included many family style meals. I'm still working on my rotation with at least 3 spots, right now I have 2 and this one is included. Coming back to WA I was really looking forward to having access to teriyaki. I've been to many places and WA hands down is the spot for teriyaki. Happy Teriyaki is a def go to. I go back and forth between getting rolls and the bento. You can't go wrong here. The vibe of this place has an old school teriyaki feel. The food, from the sauces to the freshness of the fish is chef's kiss. Also, the BEST salad dressing from a teriyaki spot as of now. Don't sleep on it! They have it bottled, get yourself one before you leave. The consistency and taste elevates iceberg lettuce like no other! I love the crunch from the katsu and the portions are great. I need to veer off into the Chinese food menu because I hear that's also bomb. So that'll be my next thing I order when I go there again. Been eating here a few times a year for 10+ years. I drive between Seattle and Portland and this is a good Teriyaki spot. The food has always been consistent, good and fairly priced. BUT, they have to do something about the plumbing as it has gotten progressively worse the last year I have been coming in. It's an old building and the bathrooms are at the front door. Kindly, the restaurant smells like a porta potty the second you step inside. I was disappointed that they didn't put the cucumber in the "yummy yummy" sushi burrito. Some of the rice was sort of tan, so I guess there was eel sauce on it, but I couldn't taste it. The tempura shrimp in the burrito wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was okay. I liked that they put the spicy mayo on the side. It was a pretty good sushi burrito once I added my own eel sauce. The strawberry milk tea was more like a blended ice drink than milk tea, and it had a strong artificial powder taste. read more

I FINALLY found An amazing spot for my two favorite comfort foods, sushi & teriyaki. WHAT!! Haha. Me and my husband were scrolling through door dash to get some food we were starving, and ended up with this restaurant online, so we took a chance and ordered 2 rolls of the Seahawks rolls 1 roll of Bloody Mary Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba We got our food from DD, was a bit disappointed that the spicy chicken teriyaki sauce leaked everywhere inside the bottom of the bag but that could have been the dasher's fault maybe having the food move around too much in the car. Anyways, the flavors of the sushi IS SPOT ON DAMN GOOD. The rice isn't too much, perfect amount of rice and ratio of fish, it was satisfying and damn tasty. The salmon is tender and flavorful. My other roll the Bloody Mary was soft yet crunchy, with so much flavor , I was impressed by the ratio again of rice and stuffing. I adore this roll so much and the flavorful soft tuna on top, bursting with flavor. Teriyaki was cooked to perfection, amazing grill marks. Our family of 4 (husband and 2 kids) showed up at 8:15pm on a Thursday. The restaurant closes at 9pm. There was an only 1 family already seated and eating. Immediately we were greeted by the hostess and asked us if we wanted take out. We asked if we could be seated. It was a long day of work for my husband and myself, and we were all hungry. The hostess explained that they were closing in 10-15 mins. Signage and Yelp said they closed at 9pm. We were all very disappointed and proceeded to head out. We found a restaurant across the street with similar menu offerings that were also closing at 9pm and they accommodated us for dine in. We were able to sit down right away and get greeted instantly. We were also given miso soup while we were looking over the menu. It tasted so good! Not too salty, hot, very flavorful. Our service was great as well. We were accommodated with all our requests and the server overall had a great, humorous attitude. We ordered three sushi rolls and bento boxes. The sushi came out relatively quickly and tasted amazing. I expected nothing less from this restaurant, and they did not disappoint. The bento boxes came out soon after and boy, were they generous! The portions are huge and the meal was definitely not quantity over quality. Each individual item in the box tasted great, making the meal extremely delicious. By farmy favorite place to come eat when I'm in Fife. I used to work down the road, but now I work in Lacey so this is a further drive than before. When you dine in you get a bowl of miso soup with the menu and a drink offer right away! Today I ordered a lunch bento and it did not disappoint! Chose a Yummy Yummy sushi roll (fried shrimp tempura, avocado, imitation crab, and cream cheese) and Pork Bulgogi. Two gyoza, a shrimp tempura, and side salad (well dressed). Deeeeelish. My bf and I frequent this little gem because their food is so damn good. The fried rice, yakisoba, sushi... all of it is good! We love their bento boxes--the dinner sushi bento box is so much that we have to share it! Also, this place serves tempura taro. TEMPURA TARO! I have never tried taro like this, but I knew it'd be good, and OOOOOH I was right. So yummy. I've tried tons of teriyaki places, but this one is one of my favorites. The employees are also kind and helpful. Lastly, they are open for dine-in and are abiding social distancing and mask wearing. Please don't forget your mask, folks! Came here with my kiddo and my fiancé. They both ordered the teriyaki chicken and I got the seafood yakisoba. It's a nice little restaurant, well lit but not too crowded with tables and evenly spread out. Our server was very personable and friendly, she made us feel very welcome. We picked our table to sit as motioned from our server and the menu was pretty extensive. They had all sorts of mixes with bento boxes and a good menu of sushi. When she delivered our food, to say the helping was generous on every plate is an understatement. They charge about the same as other joints that serve about half as much as we were given. My kid likes super lean meat and I'll say theirs wasn't the leanest I've had, but that's just because he's a picky eater. My fiancé ate almost everything on his enormous plate. My yakisoba was pretty good too, a little on the salty side but that's a typical expectation when ordering yakisoba noodles. They are a little far from where I live but I'd definitely return if I was ever in the area again. read more

Wasn't too happy with the Sushi I got here. The Good Well, the rolls were all 9pcs and filling. Rolls were ready in 10 minutes. The Bad 35$ for 3 rolls was crazy. No 2 or 3 roll lunch special just for sushi like other places do. Sushi was deep fried, but soggy. The Ugly The rolls all had WAY too much rice on them. See the pics. The wasabi was grey and tasted as if it had been mixed with something else. I expect a nice green. I also asked for extra wasabi which I didn't get.
