Wait time is usually 10 minutes or longer, depending on how busy it is. Cons: - Food could be more hot (downside to takeout) especially the fried food and teriyaki - Weird shrimp tempura, it's as if they mashed shrimp, rolled it into a log and deep fried it, still good though. - egg roll is great and usually very hot however it tastes strange at times - due to the large amount of food in the bento box, I usually eat more the next day as leftovers. True to recent reviews- their customer service is severely lacking and workers are so abrupt to ALL their customers. I felt like I was in a communist state with workers yelling at anyone who came to the counter. No one was greeted friendly and do NOT expect a smile reflected back at you. The food has changed with new ownership. The teriyaki chicken is a bit dry and overcooked, it lacks the good teriyaki flavor it had before. As far as portions, still large but now you get a whole lot of rice instead and the meat is regular to smallish portions. Not worth $20 for a combo meal. Not sure if it's new owners or old owners, but I'm there waiting for my food I see them put an order together put it to the side. It's been sitting there for 10 minutes. I then see the cook put another order to be ready to be picked up. I see them take the other order that's been sitting there and added it to the new food that just came out. I see them bag the one that's been sitting there for 10 minutes then they call my name so they switched my order. They gave me the cold one that's been sitting there for 10 minutes as they've opened and closed the container. The cashiers were short and curt and I get it. It's a fast paced time. My family have been eating here for 8 years. This restaurant offers Chinese, Korean and Japanese dishes. Through the years, we have ordered the chicken Katsu, fried rice, Chow mein (combination of pork, chicken and shrimp), bento box (chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura. Very generous portions are given. All the food have been flavorful and delicious. However, one recent order I placed a few months ago was the chicken katsu. It was over fried and rubbery. We did not enjoy that. This was a first time we experience this. The only person who works the front does it all!! She is the cashier, order taker, server, answers phone orders and bags your order. She can get extremely busy. Expect a wait if you are ordering to go, however, they get through the orders pretty quickly. The food wasn't as good as the reviews. I ordered the beef short ribs, which was ridiculously expensive and at this point it's probably just easier to make them at home, it was pretty-mid. Nothing that stood out about it, maybe just the price. we also got the Szechuan beef and the flavor was OK, but it was drenched in sauce and vegetables and you kind of had to go fishing for the beef pieces, got a side order of spicy wings, which again were overly drenched in sauce and too thick of a coating on the chicken, almost like biting into a rock, the egg flower soup had a very weird green color to it, and I don't wanna know what that was and they had too much cornstarch or thickener. All in all when I go there again, I would definitely not. The service was OK. You gotta speak up and it's kind of hard for them to hear because of the barrier between the Customer and the host. BE AWARE!!! They will give them self a tip without a notice. Came in here dine in party of 4. Ordered 2 combo plates a one item plate and a side salad, no drinks... grand total $69!! When i asked for an itemized receipt as im signing the charge slip( because $69 is outrageous for 3 plates) she said oh i already added the tip , i said without notice? And no where does it state this policy on menu or sign or ANYWHERE... she said tabs of $50 or more they will automatically add 15% tip. Also ordered a sweet and sour chicken, portion was good and didn't finish it but it was drowned in the sauce. Overly coated that you barely get any chicken. Since moving here 2yrs ago we have been searching for a good Teriyaki restaurant. Wok & Teriyaki was recommended and we tried them. The owner is awesome and very friendly along with being helpful in suggesting dishes. The food is excellent and portions are great. You will not go away hungry. The chicken is delicious and cooked to perfection. In fact getting the bento box gives you a great variety of good things to try. They make really solid food with large portions and I've ordered delivery from them several times. Their major issue is they will lie about their wait times. They told me the wait was "about 30 minutes", so I placed my order and as of right now, I've been waiting for my food for 85 minutes. I never post to yelp but this needs to be mentioned. This is the second time it's happened to me. Their other big problem is as I've been standing here waiting for my order, I've watched the cashier continue to take orders over the phone and she continues to tell people "about 30 minutes". Seeing how there are over 20 other people standing around me waiting for their food, the cashier knows what she's saying isn't truthful and she doesn't care. They don't care if they make you wait over an hour for your food, they just care about taking the next order. There are enough other good teriyaki joints in the area, take your business elsewhere. Arrival time was just after noon on a Thursday. The eatery was doing brisk business with takeout but seating is still available. Yes, there is cool air conditioning too! Daughter ordered the Teriyaki chicken and Katsu lunch combo special ($12.99), and I ended up with Bento B which consisted of Teriyaki chicken, 4 pieces of sushi, 2 pieces of shrimp tempura.and an eggroll ($14.99). Both orders came with a refreshing small salad as well. The former came out first, and my first impressions was it was large for a lunch special. The bento box came up shortly after, and was impressive as well. Taste-wise - The food tasted fine overall. I found the sushi was done very well. The Teriyaki sauce tasted good, the grilled chicken was a little tough. A general complaint was that some of the fried foods (Katsu especially) were over-fried to become a little tough and dry. The staff were kind and very efficient, and will even refill ice water to a half empty cup. Location serves Pepsi distributed products. Overall, this eatery rates 4 out of 5 stars. Despite some of the shortcomings, the meal is a great value, and definitely definitely worth the money. Where do I begin... prices aren't on their menu board over head. What you see online on the menu isn't what they charge. They're highly overpriced, and VERY rude. MOSTLY, to women. This unassuming average looking teriyaki joint at the end of a small two-story building near the Fred Meyer is one of those places you might easily overlook if you didn't know it was there - but don't miss it. Huge portions (a dinner serves two easily, with leftover rice for the next day; the family meals serve at least five and maybe six people), very tasty and fresh food at a more than fair price that's as good or better than any teriyaki/Japanese/Chinese food I've enjoyed at any similar establishment in the area. And they're open Sundays, which is uncommon for this type of restaurant. Hint: as it always seems like half of Puyallup is waiting in the parking lot or at a table for their takeout at any given time, be sure to call in your order at least a half-hour in advance to avoid a sizable wait when you get there. Also, when you're in the area, get a take out menu from them and, as their phone persons clearly speak limited English, listen closely and know what you want when you call to avoid misunderstandings. This place is fantastic! We're not local and were craving teriyaki, so a quick Yelp search led us here. Thank you Yelp! I've heard they get packed on Fri & Sat lunch and dinner rush. We were lucky to head in for a late lunch today so we had our pick of any table. The woman working there couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. I was dining with 2 of my kids and she helped them use the soda machine. She even offered them to-go cups at the end of our meal and scraped our leftovers into to-go boxes. The gyoza was served in a little plastic boat. So cute. My daughter ordered the children's chicken teriyaki. She is a very very picky eater. I forgot to say 'no sauce' and it came drenched in thick syrupy teriyaki sauce. She has never ever liked any teriyaki sauce at any of the dozens of teriyaki restaurants we've been to, but she liked this one! I couldn't believe it! The tables were big and spread out, very comfortable. The lady who welcomed us also took our order at the table and served us some soup while we waited. This place popped up on my radar years ago. Two main reasons it took me so long to get here. 1) Teriyaki isn't my bag. I have had great teriyaki, but it accounts for about 2% of my attempts. 2) I live in Seattle and Puyallup isn't generally a destination for me. On this day, I couldn't ignore the overwhelming reviews and decided to give these guys a try. There is good and bad here. In the end, the good outweighs the bad, but this place still could improve. I'll start with the service. As others have stated, it's slow and isn't friendly. I waited far too long to be greeted, the woman walked by me at least 3 times before she asked if I needed help despite her being the only customer facing individual. Once my order was taken, she asked me to take a seat. I watched her and there was a bit of agitation. She honestly appeared to be frustrated with how busy it was. Assuming it was her place, she should be happy. I could tell English was a struggle for her and I personally believe the attitude was to fend off conversation as she wasn't equipped for it. Another issue was the menu board. All items were listed, but there was no pricing. I had looked at a menu posted on Yelp from about 6 months back, but my meal ended up being $5 more than I expected. I had Mongolian Beef and Chicken Teriyaki combo, with gyoza on the side. The gyoza was terrible, no flavor and possibly the worst I've tasted. Any frozen gyoza I've bought taste better than these. The Chicken was juicy and had great flavor. Honestly, I was impressed. The sauce was almost like jelly, it was so thick, I didn't like that. The Mongolian Beef was also better than most Teriyaki spots, but it was too sweet. I don't like sweet meat, and that is most likely why I don't care for teriyaki. When made correctly, you taste more garlic, ginger and pineapple with just a hint of brown sugar, but that is the advantage of making your sauce fresh daily. The portion was big as advertised, probably not big enough to share unless you are a kid or female, but certainly more than you would expect. I was completely uncomfortable once I got my bill, there is no excuse to not post your prices, I would assume that is the law. Everything was too sweet, but the meat itself was tender juicy and flavorful. I can see what people like about this place, and I can tell you that if you told me you liked Teriyaki or lived in Puyallup, you should check them out, but this place really wasn't for me.
