    Chicken Bento

One of the better casual dining spots in Stanwood. Their chicken bento was only $15 and it was huge! The space is very clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. Only downside was that service was slow for this particular visit.

I decided to take my son out for Teriyaki today and we both agreed it would be fun to try a new spot. The moment we entered we noticed a rather fun looking atmosphere and even though it was slightly busy the waitress made us felt welcome and she was very attentive through the experience. My son ordered the Mongolian beef as he likes spicy food. He asked for it to be at a level for but I feel they brought it down a notch or two because it was for a kid and my son said next time he will have to put it at a 5. I gave it a try and it tasted really delicious. For me it had some heat, but not to much and the rest of the flavors blended well together. I ordered the chicken yakisoba and I really felt like it was made well plenty of chicken and vegetables lots of noodles a very filling meal. The flavors all came together and as or writing this makes me want to return for more. We also got an order of Egg rolls and both enjoyed them as well. Over all we both really enjoyed our experience here and look forward to return trip... maybe with the whole family.

Super bento box. This plate is huge! Food was amazing! Center is orange chicken.

Stanwood. Who would have thought? The prices vs proportion is spectacular. I got the super bento box for $22. You get teriyaki chicken, a choice from the wok(I chose orange chicken), 4 pieces of California roll, gyoza, tempura shrimp, rice and salad. The teriyaki sauce was amazing, which strangely isn't always easy to find. The orange chicken, oh, the orange chicken! Best orange sauce I've ever had. It tasted like fresh squeezed juice right in the sauce. Nothing artificial about it. Such an unexpected, amazing experience. You can order to go, take out, or sit and dine. The service is amazing and I believe it's a family run restaurant. He was so sweet when I asked for a million sauces to go for my leftovers. The 5 minute music loop could use an update, but that's seriously the only tiny negative I could pull.

2-Item Combo. Chicken Teriyaki and Beef Galbi (Short Ribs). Comes with 2 scoops of Rice and a Salad.

My family and I spent the afternoon into early evening hours in Camano Island State Park and it was so beautiful. As we drove out of Camano Island to Stanwood, we spotted Happy Teriyaki. Of course, we decided to stop in. My sister-in-law and I walked in and we were immediately greeted by two young men. I loved their enthusiasm! As we perused the menu board, we opted for a couple combo plates, which included two scoops of rice and a side salad. We ordered a Teriyaki Chicken + Katsu Chicken combo plate, a Teriyaki Chicken + Beef Kalbi (Short Ribs) combo plate, and two sides of Shrimp Tempura. It took some time to prepare the plates so we waited in our vehicle until they brought out the food. The side salad was crunchy and cold - just how I like my salad. And the Teriyaki Chicken was delicious - not too heavily glazed, not overly sweet, and not too salty either. It was the right consistency for teriyaki. I really enjoyed it with the short-grain steamed rice. I actually didn't need the extra teriyaki sauce that it came with. I thought the beef kalbi was okay; it's actually much thinner than I expected but still good nonetheless. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the Chicken Katsu. It was tough to bite into and too dry to swallow - I almost thought I was eating pork! It was bland too. Everything else was better. Overall, we enjoyed our meal from Happy Teriyaki and we were glad to have found this on the highway. Asian comfort food to make us feel "home" away from home.

Came here for lunch after a visit to the shops at Stanwood. Music is a bit loud, albeit festive... Its a bit early, so it was empty when we got here. We were greeted and staff is friendly. Food is ok. It is more americanized taste than authentic asian taste... not exactly the best we had, but passable, considering the town population and being the only teriyaki place in town.... Price point is ok....

Dude looks like a sushi It was so hard to put in my mouth that I had to eat it with a dang fork!!!! Haha! I'm used to eating sushi with chop sticks! It was pretty tasty. Again you are getting sushi in a food truck not something from a restaurant so don't expect something so extravagant, but it's good for what you get. It was pretty tasty for what I got I believe and the guy is super nice, even offered to make any kind of speciality roll I wanted so I asked for avocados on my rolls and that hit good! So I couldn't wait to check them out! Sadly, it took awhile to figure out where to find them. Initially it was announced they'd be at North Sound Brewing on the weekends. But I stopped there twice and... no truck. I looked for updates on social media, but (alas) still couldn't seem to sync up with them. Then, one random weeknight, we headed to Barley & Brew in Sedro Woolley to see a comedy show, and there was Karuma. Score! At the time, I was recovering from a tummy bug, and didn't want to eat raw fish yet, so I ordered a California Roll and got a beeper to await my order. 45 minutes later... it was ready. And...it was delish. Not to mention HUGE! I couldn't even finish it. Since they're new, I'll give them grace on the long wait and hard-to-findness. But I do hope to run into them again soon (maybe, finally, at North Sound) and give some of their other tasty sounding sushi a try!

I'm placing this as one of my new favorite sushi spots on the Eastside! Four of us came for an early dinner around 4:30P on a Saturday and got seating right away in a booth. The restaurant is on the smaller end with just a few tables on each side and a few seats at the sushi bar. In addition to an appetizer, two of us shared three specialty sushi rolls and the other two in our group ordered the chicken katsu meal set. Our sushi arrived beautifully all on one plate. Each specialty roll included 10 pieces and they all contained a generous amount of filling with a relatively thin rice layer, making the average price of $18 - $19 per roll worth the value. + TAKOYAKI ($7.50): These deep-fried dumplings had a soft creamy interior and housed a small piece of tender octopus. Four pieces came in an order, topped with mayo, unagi sauce and bonito flakes. I loved the crispy exterior and they were served steaming hot. I am not sure they were made in-house or frozen, but they were delicious. + KOUSHI ROLL ($17.99): A crab, avocado and cucumber roll topped with cajun seared salmon, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, green onion and fish roe. Between the crab filling and spicy mayo, this is a pretty creamy roll. The salmon on top had a very light sear, so while the smoky flavor was noticeable, I considered it closer to raw. The unagi sauce added some sweetness that offset the mild spice. + NAGOYA ROLL ($18.99): Tuna avocado roll topped with salmon, ponzu sauce, sweet sesame sauce, green onion and fish roe. The freshness of the fish especially shined here between the large cubes of tuna inside and the meaty slice of raw salmon on top. The sauce simply enhanced the roll without taking over the flavor, so it didn't distract from the purity of the ingredients. + SETO ROLL ($18.99): Spicy tuna and cucumber inside topped with tuna, ponzu sauce and green onion. This roll is HOT, like at least 3/5 stars on the spice scale! As spicy as it was, I really enjoyed it, especially since half the roll was topped with medium fatty tuna which was such a nice treat. Lean tuna draped over the other half. Chopped green onion on top added pops of freshness. The chicken katsu meal ($16.99) came with salad, rice and miso soup. I tried one piece of the chicken which was tender and had an excellent light crunch! Service was great as the two employees managing the dining room checked back a couple times and were actively watching in case any of the tables needed anything. I know I'll be back again for more sushi!
