Y'all. A seafood place has BREAKFAST!!! All day!! Who knew? Well I didn't, but I do now!! All I can say is...YUM!! I had to get a sort of sampler plate so I could try a little bit of everything since it was my first time, and I wasn't disappointed by any of it. I had eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns and pancakes. They even had sugar free syrup for me! Everything was so good - and then I had a bite of my hub's Cajun breakfast...and now I know. I won't pass that up next time! The andouille sausage was ahhhh-mazing!! I have to say my very favorite thing was the Hapoy's seasoning. It was good on my eggs, my hash browns, and pretty much everything it touched. Of course I had to buy some to bring home with me! Nom!! Great service, amazing food, super cool atmosphere, annnd breakfast! This was one happy experience! Met an old friend here for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was attentive, but not too attentive. We sat in a booth and were able to talk and get caught up without much distraction. The place was decorated as a fish house, but trust me, they do breakfast well. Lot's of families on a Sunday morning so it was bustling but that didn't impact the service, food quality or catching up. read more

Food was nothing to write home about. Service was okay but not of a high quality. What kind of destroyed the meal was workers would go out the back door and leave it open allowing flies and etc bugs to join in. But what really set it off was when I looked up and saw all the dust and dirt devils hanging of the vents and decorations. I was told that I would either love or hate Happy's and I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately that was not the case. I went there for dinner but was disappointed with the menu. So many fried foods! I didn't want a breakfast for dinner and the thought of diving into a plate of fried food was not appetizing. I was somewhat taken aback at the prices and was not happy with the other selections. I ended up ordering the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with a price of just over $12 for the medium serving. When served, this was a pitiful amount of food. There was one cup of gumbo and one cup of parboiled rice. Tasting the gumbo, I was very put off by the amount of salt in the food. I was only able to eat half of it due to the salt level. There were four or five small slices of sausage and about two or three ounces of chicken in a thick gravy. Poor quality and piddling amount of food for way too much money. Our server was quite friendly but apparently overwhelmed with customers. She did an admirable job, though. Overpriced food, poor food quality and an overworked staff do not make a good restaurant. Too bad for Happy's. I glad someone likes the food but I can't bring myself to go there again. read more

Here for the weekend on a work thing. My first visit was for breakfast, I had gone to one place up the street and was skipped to be seated twice and the lady was very rude about it. Went to a few other places on the same street and no one was serving breakfast anymore it was around noon, one place I stopped in to recommended I come here. Went for the mama sampler and got two of everything with a two stack pancake and a couple mimosas. I left very happy, service was so on point I even got my own coffee pot! Who does that?! I loved it! Ok, now im searching for dinner its around 9:30 at night, ive had a long day and need food. Im driving around 30- 45 min and at this point I'll take what ever, I make a turn somewhere and I decide I dont even care what this place coming up is, I just want food. I pull up and its a Mexican food place, im like "okay fine what ever" walk in, get seated and the server never shows up so I decide I'll find something in the mean time the server shows up just in case and guess what. 20 min and no server... I then realise this is the same place that told me I should go to Happy's for breakfast, realising this I hop in the car and head on over. Same as earlier, was greeted at the door right away, after being seated my amazing server shows up right away for my drink order. Here is my review: Smoked Chicken, Dirty Rice Covered in Gumbo and Boudin Bites. It was amazing!!!! Taste texture spice Looking over the menu, I'm pleased that not everything is battered and fried, given the name I was expecting that. I was here for breakfast but I did not even look for anything else at the time. Very nice menu combos. The waitress brought me a taste of the gumbo, she let me know they make all from scratch so I was like, okay, yeah, sure; that's what they All say. These moments in my life are too far and too few in between. The moment that gumbo and I connected, Sir! I was shooketh - So when I had already previously decided i wanted to try what I selected I knew there was nothing else I wanted right then N there. Everything about my meal was the tip of the top Amazing zenfulness of buttery smooth spice in all the right places and a little bit of crunch. Oh dear lord! God blessed Creole - Amen! The food is good and I would rate this place higher if they gave you a larger serving. I had the catfish and shrimp which comes with 2 sides. I chose the baked potatoe and boudin for my sides. The price came to $20.64 after tax. You would think for this price that you would be receiving a good amount of food. However what I received was 1 small catfish filet, 2 shrimp, 3 small hushpuppies, 1 boudin link, and the baked potatoe was a half of a potatoe with melted cheese. Like I said the food is good, but I honestly will not be ordering from here again when I can pay that amount of money and get way more food than I received! read more

Gator was awesome!! It has been a tradition for years to go out for fried alligator for my birthday which happens to be New Years Day. During COVID the restaurant we went to closed. We couldn't find a restaurant that had really good gator (sorry Raz...) until now. Today we drove almost 2 hour's from Greenville to Tyler to try Happy's. Just picked up our order and it was delicious! My husband loves the gumbo and rice! I had the sampler platter with fish, chicken and shrimp. I could only eat about 1/3 of it because it was so much food! I also love the cheese grits as a side. The dinners come with an onion ring which are hand breaded and wonderful. A few years ago I was in Tyler with a relative seeing a doctor and we had Happy's. The best Cajun I've ever had and knew when the opportunity presented itself I would return and bring my husband. 3 years later and I finally got to make good on that promise. We loved it! Everything we got had phenomenal flavor. Gator tails, stuffed catfish, bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp.
