We stopped by after a day of skiing because of the raging reviews-- the tacos were yummy but I cannot say we were blown away. Tasty, but still rather expensive for the portion sizes. I live in Chicago and these prices were comparable for what I pay downtown! Overall, it was great to pop in but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come again unless I'm in the area. So, I normally write really long reviews but this place doesn't need a long review. You just need to go. First let me preface with, tacos are NOT my go-to food. They aren't even on my top three for faves. However, happys tacos are tops in my book. Daaaayum they are good. I don't know what kind of magical crack they are putting in their food but it's on point. I have not had a bad taco here. The lamb cheeseburger can't be missed. It seems like their signature. You can thank me later. The smoked potato is bomb. There's like no meat in there. Yeah. Right. You heard. No meat! The fact I still order this is crazy town because I love meat. So that should say something. Something that is not on their menu right now but they said they were considering putting it back... the fried chicken burrito. Omg. The first time I had the spicy fried chicken burrito I almost cried it was so good. I am still sad that they don't have it on the menu right now. They said that customers complained because it took too long to make. Maybe I'm different but ... I'll wait for fresh food made to order. I don't want food sitting around already made. Also, I'll wait ridiculous times for amazing food. Alas. It's gone because the majority doesn't feel that way. Also when I first walked up to the truck (little fleet), I thought, "Damn these prices are steep!" They are kind of pricey. They also are on the smaller size for portion. Now that I've had their tacos... I don't even care. They are that good. You just won't care. Now I order more. Oh, if the truck is reading this... I enjoy all of the flavors you pack into each taco. Taco trucks are already one of the world's best inventions, much less one titled "Happy's." Seeing it was a dream come true, to put it lightly. They serve fried avocado, street tacos, pastrami, and burritos. They're all mini, which adds to the fun when you get to order more than one and can try different options. Pork, chicken, or kimchi can be added to the burritos, and I found out that Kimchi is a fermented cabbage. The owners were awesome and excited to explain any of their dishes to customers. They were troopers too, as it was completely freezing outside and they were interacting with customers with their windows open for hours. This place will not disappoint. A friend recommend that we try Happy's and it was amazing. The only negative is the wait. The first time we went it was an hour wait. We went back the following day and there was no wait to order but about 35 minutes for the food. Now for the food...the shrimp taco was the BEST taco I have ever had. I tried the potato taco and it was surprisingly delicious for not having any meat in it. The pork tacos were good, but needed to add salsa to them for some extra kick. The tacos were delicious and I thought they were an okay size for the price, however it took 25 minutes to get my tacos after ordering which is crazy long for a food truck! I'm not sure if that's the usual there or if I just got unlucky. There were a lot of frustrated people standing around waiting for their orders. Especially for families, one tip is to go at lunch rather than dinner as later at night, the backlot becomes a bit more of a crowded bar scene.
