My favorite! I've been a fan of Happy's for years and they continue to deliver delicious tacos time after time. I love the street tacos but my favorite is the spicy pork. My husband loves the lamb cheeseburger taco! An old favorite was the fried (yes, I would splurge on this fried option) avocado. Bring it back, please! Happy's Taco Shop has some of the best tacos I've ever eaten in my life. The fried avocado taco and fried bean taco were both delicious and full of flavor. I had tacos the week prior which were at least triple the price of Happy's and left me far less ... happy. These people clearly put a lot of love in their food and have a passion for tacos. I'm so happy to be the first one to review this place. There is not a single restaurant, either with walls, or on wheels anywhere in Northern Michigan that even comes close to this place. I've had the pleasure of trying almost everything they have on the menu, and honestly can't decide what my favorite is. This food truck makes fusion street tacos with things like herb chicken sausage, kimchi aioli, and proper corn tortillas and real queso fresco. They offer burritos and veggie options as well. The employees/owners are super friendly and have everything on hand to make this a completely satisfying experience. The prices are fair for the quality of the food. I seriously crave these things at least once a day. They could probably support the entire business if they decided to park outside my house. As it stands now, I think you can find them a few days a week up at the mountain. I pray to lord Satan that they decide to eventually open a brick and mortar shop in town some day. read more

This is an excellent taco place! It's a "food truck" like eatery inside a place called the "Backlot" in downtown Petoskey where many food trucks are located for outside and inside dining with a bar and fire pits. Not only one of the best food trucks I've ever been to, but some of the best Tacos I've ever eaten. Their prices are fair, especially for the quality of the food. They have unique ideas, and their menu has changed several times to introduce new items. They are at the Boyne City Farmers market in the summer, at Boyne Mountain during ski season, and are at Bears' Brewery in Petoskey on the weekend evenings. The fried pork belly, beer chicken, and fried avocado are my favorites. Tip: If you don't want to risk making a mess, ask for Flour tortillas instead of corn. The corn can fall apart. Would love to see these guys in downtown East Jordan next spring/summer. read more

Excellent tacos. The fish taco was amazing. Unlike any fish taco I've had before. The pork street taco with salsa verde was excellent as well. My ONLY gripe with the food was that the pork street taco was on a SINGLE corn tortilla. Everyone knows you're supposed to double up corn tortillas!!! So my taco fell apart before I was done with it and I had to eat it with a fork. Other than that, these people know flavor and they did a fabulous job with their menu. Five stars. read more

Stumbled upon this place when my wife and I visited Petosky last week. They had moved into the American Spoon storefont and it worked out perfectly for them. The chips and gauc were as good if not better than what we are used to out here in California.
