Chorizo Rangoon's, roasted chicken street tacos, pork street tacos, and crispy shrimp tacos.
Emily F.

These are the best tacos I've ever had from a food truck! They were sold out of their fish taco, but the crispy shrimp taco is a must have! We also had their roasted chicken, and pork street taco which were also pretty good, but nothing compared to the shrimp taco. Their chorizo Rangoon's were also a must have! It came with a sweet lime syrup sauce that was absolutely delicious! The service was fast and the staff were very nice. It's a cool spot to grab drinks and amazing tacos!

We've gone to this place a few times after skiing and it's great. You walk up to the counter to order and get a pager to grab your food. This made it easy for a big group of us to come in. The food has great flavor and tastes fresh!!! Also vegan and vegetarian options of mainly beans - no tofu based but that's fine because the FLAVOR

We needed somewhere to stop to eat on our road trip and found this food truck park! It has been difficult to always find really good vegetarian food in Michigan, but Happy's surprised me! They had two vegan tacos and they were SO GOOD! Everyone at the food truck was so friendly and helpful. I got both of the vegan tacos they offered. Their tacos were actually creative!! One of them had two tortillas: the inner one was fried with cheese! They also had a pepita crunch on one taco which was crispy quinoa and pepita seeds. Again, so good!!!! They also had meat based tacos too, so regardless of what you eat, you should come here! The taco shop is in a food truck park which is super cute and has tons of shaded seating, as well as bathrooms and a full bar. This is a great place to come with a big group of people because everyone can get what they want!

Visited the new home of Happy's Taco today! We've loved their tacos in Petoskey since their start. Always delicious!! The new space is great + same great food!

Unique tacos at The Back Lot! Friendly staff, relatively quick food, and great flavors. We had the chips and salsa before some tacos. I was trying a variety of food from the whole lot but loved my taco from Happys. We will definitely come back!

Located in a lively food truck park with plenty of options. The shrimp tacos were amazing--several people in our group said they were the best they've ever had.

Our favorite lunch spot in Petoskey! Every taco is amazing -- we especially love the smoked potato tacos! We love the Back Lot year round, Happy's is open even in the winter. Staff are great, and getting a draft beer with street tacos is the best.

The go-to stop when we come into town. Delicious tacos and options. Wish they had another location in the Detroit area.

A backlot favorite Happys Taco shop is probably the busiest and best food truck tacos in northern Mi. Although a bit pricey - worth the $

I can only speak to the tacos. Choice of proteins is good, I had a pinto bean and one with fried avocado. Corn tortillas only way to go, yo.

The distillery had great flights and if you buy the $10 flights you can apply to a bottle! I had and excellent Gin tonic and husband loved his dirty martini. Crazy that this Mexican food eatery with a small yet delicious menu sits within a 42,000-square-foot building that formerly served as an equestrian center. Now it's an eatery inside several rooms - a part of the largest distillery in Michigan. The BIG room, on a colored, swirling and polished cement floor is decorated with couches, picnic tables, a large screen for videos and corn-hole boards and other games. My spouse and I ordered a quesadilla filled with chicken, avocado, peppers. onions and cheese ($16). YUM. Prepared on a 10-inch tortilla, it was served with limey-tasting sauce of sour cream in a tiny ramekin. We picked it up at the window in the long hallway on the side of the distillery and ate at a picnic table with our bottles of Mexican Coke and Lime Jarrito in the big hall. Although the price is a bit more than we usually spend for a top-notch quesadilla, we probably will return for fish (cod) taco $6.00. The only major drawback is the distance between the parking area and the restaurant and distillery. It's up a myriad of steep steps, although there is a drop-off area near the building for those who are physically impaired.

Definitely a place to consider when you are in the mood for Mexican food. We stopped by on a Friday…read moreevening in June and were one of a handful of diners. Outside the fray of downtown Petoskey, El Cilantro has a much more relaxed vibe. It's close to the state park and ideal for hungry campers or bikers riding from Petoskey to Harbor Springs. The server definitely gets five plus stars. Helpful, fun and attentive. We enjoyed the complementary chips and salsa while waiting for our food. Our shrimp tacos, which we shared, were enough for two or one very hungry person. They looked appealing, served in a casual "basket" plate. Though everything was fine and satisfying, we both felt there was a lack of seasoning that would have made our meal next-level. We are from Southern California and may have higher standards and more experience with Mexican cuisine than most. The level of flavoring and spice would surely appeal to the palate that does not crave much heat or traditional spices. As campers, we will definitely keep El Cilantro on our list to visit for future trips.

The shrimp tacos were outstanding- best we've had! The Birrias were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I also really loved their salsa - freshly made and you could tell. We found ourselves inside of Rodrigo's at capacity and there was a 20 minute wait so we settled for seats at the bar as we were needing to ingest some flavorful cuisine. As it turned out sitting at the bar was a very worthwhile experience. We ordered our drinks which were prepared with precision and care right in front of s as our appetizer was served. We opted for the Rodrigos Queso with beef smothered in delicious creamy Mexican queso along with lots of black pepper and a hint of jalapeno! ! Possibly the best I have ever had! I actually inquired how it was made. The staff were very fun and friendly and we were both equally impressed with out entrees. My friend has fajitas and i went right for a trio of tacos. Traditional soft traditional tacos with shrimp, carnitas and beef. Full of flavor. The tortillas as well as the chips were all made in house and were over the top. Going to a touristy destination in far north Michigan the skeptic in me did not expect quality Mexican food but was wrong. Rodrigo's far exceeded my expectations and was filling thus solving our hunger issues and we had a pretty good time as well. Big thanks sand applause to the cooks and the staff at a wonderful and worthwhile dining experience.

Also fill up the first complimentary salsa bowl because then you charge for more when it's like 4 oz for two people? Charging for extra chips also a bit annoying if you're charging outrageous drink prices. The positives- our friends loved their soup, beer was cold, margaritas $15 which again is pricey considering your charming $20-25/entree. I get inflation has hit us all but I doubt we will be back. Red mesa in Boyne is closer, just as tasty or tastier and about 30% cheaper. Place is tiny. Couldn't move around the dining room but it was cute and themed
