What the heck HF? Your folks are generally helpful when you can find someone. I've gone to this location for years. I went yesterday. I was there again today. I'm there pretty regularly. I needed a special tool and went to pick it. There were three registers open. All three were checking someone out. There was someone else behind the person checking out at two of the registers. So I walked to the third register. Tall guy at the register snaps at me, "We're just running one line". So I turned around and headed toward the aisle near the middle of the store where another guy had just walked up and got behind him. Tall guy finishes with his customer after the guy in front of me makes it to another register. I expect to be called, but he shut down the register instead. Turns out that was the store manager. I get it if you're helping get a line down, but don't tell me something stupid when there were clearly separate lines at the other two registers. Tell me you're closed or something, but treating me like an idiot isn't going to help. If you truly believe your store pulls customers getting a single line, put up a sign. Granted, sometimes it does work that way. But it wasn't today, so don't lie to me. read more

Went to the Arlington Harbor Freight, bought a bike pump. Got to my car, the fucking lever was on backwards. Took it right back in and the cashier turned into a smug piece of shit. He looked at the woman next to him and loudly said, "This guy doesn't know a beach ball from a car tire." Then he took my receipt, dropped it in the trash like it had the plague, and said "I guess you won't be needing that anymore." What a disrespectful fucking asshole. Took an unused/unopen power station back a 1 day after purchase and they refused to honor their return policy and charged me a $190 restocking fee on a $950 item. I do not recommend this location. They lied on their reason for return and put "Not Satisfied" even though the item was returned unused/unopen. I was told this is their process. I'm never shopping at Harbor Freight again. read more

I tried to return an unused code reader, and they charged me a restocking fee plus tax. As far as I know, in Texas a restocking fee on an unused item is not taxable, but in this case they still charged tax. This is wrong. Regarding the restocking fee, I admit it was my fault that I did not carefully read all the pricing details. However, if you look at the wording printed on the price tag, you would need a magnifier at 100× zoom to read it clearly. If a business wants customers to know that a restocking fee will be charged, it must be clearly displayed. In this case, the words "Subject to restocking fee" were printed in an extremely small font. In the end, I was charged a 20% restocking fee, even though the percentage was never clearly disclosed. The bottom line is that a professional business should clearly post signage about the restocking fee and state exactly what percentage will be charged. I explained all of this and pointed out the lack of professionalism to both the cashier and the manager, but they did not respect my feedback and were still upset. Great job Harbor Freight for training your staff properly and choosing quality people! I came in today for some things and was right away, politely greeted by the clerk at the check out register. A genuinely warm smile is great way to start off a Monday! The store is well organized and clean with adequate inventory levels with good selections at a very reasonable price. What really stood out and impressed me today was the young lady you have at your check out register. The same clerk that greeted me on my way in. She had an elderly gentleman asking questions regarding a small refillable torch on how to use and fill it. Even when it appeared she was unable to answer his questions properly, she did not dismiss him or pass him on to another staffer. Instead she made efforts to get the information he needed to help him. Good job Katlyn! I wanted to make sure you get the recognition you deserve and keep up the good work! Thank you!!! read more

On Thursday morning, I went with my daughter to this store to buy a wooden tool box that they had announced, to give it to my husband on Father's Day. They didn't have the box. The cashier in a very rough way tells me that they do not have it. There was in another store. I asked him if they could call and separate one, for me to go buy it. Rudely he tells me that they can't do that, and he turned his back on me. The employees of this store need a customer service course asap !!! They are very horrible, mean and poorly educated. There are ways to speak to people. I do not recommend this store to anyone. However at the Forth Worth store, we were treated very kindly. Now I understand why there were so many people in the Fort Wort store, and the Arlington store was almost empty. read more

You had better stay out if you don't want to spend your last dollar. I was working on a couple of projects around the house and needed a couple of items that I knew Harbor freight carried, so went there to pick them up and ended up with a whole bunch of things that I "needed" . But just look at how much money I saved !! They are my no. 1 place to go to for most any home improvement or garage item that I need. However I am running out of room in my tool/garden shed. Better quality than I expected and super prices as well. I would like to see them carry a small light weight battery powered lawn mower that would run on their Lynxx 40 Volt battery. read more

From the outside it really appears to be a nice store pretty misleading. It is basically empty but definitely void of most sale items advertised. I was able to find one item. This item was a sander and all the shelves were empty but I knew that couldn't be the case. On the very top shelf there were plenty of all the brands. It was dumb. The shelves said wait for assistance to get the items from the top. Good luck. I waited 15 minutes and used a pole tool to knock it down. The three people I saw in there never asked if they could help. I decided to order the rest of the items online which was even more disappointing. The saw I wanted showed available and still does but was not fulfilled in the order that I still don't have (orders 8/3) and wasn't contacted about. Still was charged shipping for the accessories of the saw and the filler items. Dumber right. They bombard you with a million emails about everything EXCEPT what you ordered. Surprising good quality for the crazy low prices. Check out YouTube comparisons between what ever took you're thinking of getting here and the high-priced brands, you will probably walk away impressed with the inexpensive one. Plus, you can always find a 20% off one item coupon online. Don't let their signs and advertisements influence your decision though. They frequently use phrases such as "URGENT BLOWOUT" and "IMMEDIATE CLOSEOUT" even though they aren't closing. My sister one time called me to let me know they were closing and I "had to get over there and buy out the store" with her and after laughing for a few good minutes I explained to her their advertising techniques. She put back most of what was in her cart and only got what she was actually there for. I took out an Audi engine with no problems from their engine hoist that (after all the discounts and coupons) was around $70 so I trust their quality. Plus, the staff goes out of their way to save me money frequently. Real people work here, not fake personalities that are trained to take money at all costs. read more
