Not that I expect great customer service from the fast food of hardware stores but every employee was in the office screaming and laughing. It sounded like they were having a Chuck E. Cheese party while it left customers to search far and wide in the aisles for their product of choice. After the long search for the item I needed i approach the line to pay and when at the cashier I was forced to stand there due to the cashier not pressing the appropriate buttons to allow me to pay and leave which in turn allowed me to listen to three employees complain about someone that made a return and the item that was not put back because one of the 7 people working did not want to. read more

What can I say about Harbor freight, I am like a kid in a candy store, the place is loaded with all kinds of household and Automotive tools. You basically have to go in and get what you need and walk right out or otherwise you'll spend your whole paycheck in there. So this place has everything you could ever need as far as tools and stuff. It's a great store. Some stuff I feel.is a little overpriced but there is always a coupon available. My only issue is once my husband came here to return something he ended up not needing and not until we left and went to a gas station, he realized the cash the cashier gave him for his refund contained a FAKE 20 dollar bill!! We were so embarrassed when the gas station attendant told us. And we know it was from there cause he has no cash on him prior to making his return. So obviously we got as*ed out of 20 bucks. We weren't going to go back cause we knew they wouldn't believe us. So we just bit the bullet but only use card from now on. Please train your staff members to properly check other peoples bills! read more

Cool place, tools everywhere you turn. I went in to get a specific gift for my dad, but could have spent a couple of hours here looking at all the stuff. Beware I bought their power washer Didn't ask for the warrantee but they rung up the warrantee and Because I was in a rush rather than waste time I paid and left Good thing I did The wand trigger stopped working on the handle. I brought it back in for a swap Wand handle They had a similar model but not the model I had but it's the exact wand They refused to swap it Its store policy you have to bring the entire unit in But wait there's more If I were to lug or Bring in the unit in it's entirety They didn't have the model in stock so they direct me to go to another store that stocks it Several miles away If you want customer service This is not the place Better with Home Depot hands down They took the money for the product They took the money for the warrantee And when it came time for them to honor their end They failed They got me ripped me off But we bought from them for years my entire family is in the contracting biz so lesson learned I hope to spread the word not to hurt them but to at-least warn others not to get suckered by their warrantee offers They don't honor them! read more

The manager of the store had the door locked at 7:50pm when I walked up. He opened the door I explained I needed a couple items he says no problem. As soon as 8pm came he became extremely rude telling me the stores closed to go to register or leave. I've never seen a business run so poorly. I bought tons of tools here. Great deals... Recently I had a problem with an item i bought. .... Awful customer service. Very disappointing. They really don't care about customers at all. The tool box i bought (US General which is is available only at Harbor Freight) had a dent on it when i opened the box. I took it back and the manager didnt even want to talk to me about my problem with out a receipt. Lifetime warranty NOPE... you need your receipt and its only on hand tools. We all know what happens to receipts left in your care for more than a few days... they fade and you cant read them. So your out of luck if you buy anything from them. I understand stores have policy but really all i wanted was an exchange on an item that is there own brand and not sold any place else. I see no reason for this other than not wanting to stand behind your products and providing service to customers. Advise stay away from anything other than hand tools and make sure you check it before you leave the store. read more

The worst nightmare.....plumbing problems!!! My faucet in the bathroom started to leak and I completely freaked!.So I decided to try to fix this on my own. I yyyyyaaaa (an ol'Asian saying when in torment). So I went to the local hardware store and just bought the washers and by the way YOU TUBE is my best friend now, but I had to get some tool and went to Sears and I will tell you it was a let-down of the worst kind because they had sh-t!!!! So I came home thinking this was gonna be great a mom fixing the plumbing problem hahahahha . NO . It didn't happen that way. ..another bomb explodes in my face!!! During this memorial day sale event morning, I have purchased some merchandise from Harbor Freight Tools store ( 116 Veteran Memorial Hwy. Commack, NY 11725 ) with presented saving coupons to the salesperson at the cash register (the old man, probably the store manager). This man tried to cheat me by ignoring my savings coupons, which he has scanned. When I told him of his wrongdoing he treated me very rudely repeatedly asking me the question - "what was the value of the coupons" while keeping them in his garbage can on the top of the other garbage papers. Only when I have passed his "test" he has the transaction redone. I will never shop there dealing with this not very honest man. Beware and avoid dealing with him. read more

Terrible staff. If you ask the staff to help you to find something . They just tell you the asile instead of getting up and helping you. They seat on there phone on instagram or they are talking on the phone. The manger does the same thing. I dont recommend going to this harbor freight the one in bay shore is alot better. I can wander around in here all day. Has the tools you need for almost any job and has tons of cool gadgets that you don't necessarily need but have to have. Prices are cheap and there are always coupons available. They have hand tools, outdoor seasonal items, power tools, tools storage units, heavy equipment, etc. Usually only one register open at a time but oh well. Located in a congested parking lot but away from the main stores so its not too bad. read more

If you're mechanically inclined, you can find heavily discounted tools on manager's special that only require minor repair work. I found a $360 tool cabinet marked down to $200 because of dents that I knew I could fix with a press and keys that were locked inside (I knew I could pick the lock). The store manager was friendly and was willing to negotiate. I walked away with the cabinet for about $180 after tax. Plus, I can always use more bar clamps so those free coupons in the woodworking magazines will always keep me coming back. read more

This store is well stocked and rarely runs out of merchandise. Most of the time I get 20 out of 20 items on my list and occasionally 19 out of 20. It's amazing how many of the catalogue items are in this store. If you don't see what you want ASK! Things tend to be in nooks and crannies. The cashiers always point you to where stuff is. read more
