Amazing place the service is great and the selection of tools is crazy and the prices are so affordable

Where do I start. No issues generally with the products. The issue is with the store , and the management and their awful customer service. I bought the wrong size hinges & I misplaced the receipt. They had to get manager approval for the exchange. Waited patiently up front for the manager to come up for 10 minutes . He obviously had more important things to do . After 5 more minutes I walked towards the back to locate the manager myself and located him in the back stockroom be very condescending towards his employees and he was NOT discreet about it. Getting his attention, I was met with attitude. SIMON ...was his name and he's not very good at his job . When explaining to him my situation and mistake and having no receipt and buy the wrong size hinges , I was spoken to and lectured as if I was an ignorant , clueless kindergartener. When I challenged SIMONS attitude, he then was the one acting like a child . In all I demanded my money back because I did not want to do business with an A-hole like SIMON . read more

Was not greeted upon entry, I do believe that matters. One employee with blue hair dye was chatting it up loudly with two other women employees so that is probably why no one greeted anyone else that entered the store after us. There was no employee walking through the aisles asking if customers needed help finding something. Although, Derek was extremely pleasant when he rang us up at the register. There was also another man hard at work stocking things I believe he had black glasses, didn't get his name. Also, thanks Rachel for grabbing some things in the back for us. 11/22 I ordered a  Yukon 2 door 1 drawer tool box being told it would be delivered the next week to the store(hesperia store), I called no answer  had to go to the store twice to get 2 separate answers(one was I don't know the other was the asst manager telling me Im lucky if it shows up by 12/15). on Monday 12/4, I sent an email via the website to see what was going on, and then I called the 800 number. I was told I could pick it up from the store in 24 hours. Today the 24 hours has passed no info no contact I called the 800 number 3 times for them to say oh well send off to the manager (still no call), Finally I call into the Hesperia the assistant manager Christina said she didnt know about orders or how to  process them or how to contact the district manager, in fact, all I got were OKs and whatever it even took her 20 minutes to look up my phone number. All this  because she fully admitted she didn't know what she was doing  and everyone was out sick and it was not her problem. Finally, I got my toolbox later today. Everyone was nervous about looking it up or moving it because they needed a forklift to move. The funny part is I helped the lady move it into my truck without the forklift. Went in on Friday for Motorcycle Lift $499.00. They were out of stock. Cashier said to check back on Sunday (still out of stock), check Monday afternoon. Called Monday evening female says they got one in on delivery. I asked her to put my name on. She said not to worry it'll still be here on Tuesday. Well, I go in Tuesday and it was sold, (Barstow has one). I told her that I'm not driving to Barstow. I called another store and they said the price is $549.00. I walked in to the Hesperia store buy a drywall sander and didn't see one on the shelf. I asked one of the employees if there were any more, and I without looking up from a mobile device she was holding, she told me that the last one had been stolen, so they were sold out. So I went to the next nearest harbor freight and found the sander, and mentioned to the cashier there that I was relieved to find one. The cashier checked the other stores inventory out of her own curiosity and she found that they showed 6 in this (Hesperia) store. I called the Hesperia store back and checked with them, and they found them after about 10 minutes. The store wasn't busy when I walked in. No one was dealing with anything complicated from the looks of it. I've been in this store a handful of times, but there are a couple of employees who have either followed me around the store while I shop, or refuse to assist me or acknowledge me, like today. I am pretty confident that I'm being treated this way because of my skin color, especially because the next customer who walked in with what looked like a return or exchange was greeted a lot more cordially than I was in my very short exchange with the Hesperia employee. I am never going back to that specific store again. Harbor Freight has been a go to for me, and it is an absolute shame that I have to go to another store now, not because there is anything better about any other store, but because the one that is most convenient for me has just enough employees who cannot treat people with respect purely because we look different. read more

Good store when the staff isn't overwhelmed. The "manager" whom is a male is rarely seen and doesn't appear to enjoy his occupation at the slightest, normally doesn't bother me since he is hiding in the back modtly. But the 2 occasions I was referred to him for a questlon I had regarding s potential discount on the last product in stock which was visibly damaged, the manager rudely told me to drive to Victorville location and purchase one there then. I nicely reminded him that the fuel and to e necessitated to do that wouldn't warrant the trip worthwhile. He shook his head rudely and walked back to his hideout cave (secluded storage area in rear of store) I think he may just lack knowledge of store merchandise, basic business practices, public service, social skills and common courtesy. The other staff is generally very friendly, with the exception of when they are having a bad day which is understandable with some if the unreasonable folks who habitually "shop" at this location. They'd get 5 stars iff the 1 male manager didn't have so much to prove and so little to offer. P.s. be careful with the cheap grinders, the 4 screws rattle loose and can result in catastrophic injury. I attempted to make the employee sware( as I had 3 in a row do this after having a few others that didn't after several months of use) in hopes that they could relay it to the mfg that the screws are coming loose and falling out within an hour of use and that the screws hold the disc that spins 7-10000 rpm and is made to slice through steel, but sadly, my concern was not acknowledged. I spend 1300 per month on average at this location and average 8 visits monthly, so their customer service and ability to interact in a reasonable fashion is important to me. I'd like to see the employees less stressed and in a more positive mood. And 3 checkouts available instead of 1 1/2. I could make this place run like a click if given the opportunity. I've analyzed their means of running this location and could really tell you which employees are mvp and which ones aren't worthy of being there. read more

Came in to this store looking for something that I could not find. My husband comes here quite often with me. The staff is always very friendly, too. We used their toilettes and to my surprise they were super clean! They don't carry expensive brands but their tools are very good quality. Leah was on her cell phone from the second I walked in to even being taken care of. I saw her engage with a customer before me and was STILL hooked to the cell phone. Being the first person I see when I walk in and the person to help me and not make eye contact nor act professional really makes me wonder how the business is ran. Juan was great though! Very disappointed with the attitude.. Both manager and employee!!! On 8/11/16 Bought a $11 hitch pin, came back later in the day to retro a 20% coupon... I tried to return it today 8/15, didn't need it after all, but was refused a refund because I brought ORIGINAL receipt, and not the one that shows 20% off. I told cashier I was buying something else more expensive and I'd take store credit, he refused, he just said its against policy, if I didn't bring the receipt showing 20% off, he could not help me... Which didn't make sense to me. When manager (Maggie) came up, cashier had already told her the story, I told her the same thing, I was not looking for cash back, I was going to spend more $$.. After making a damn ugly face about it, she turned to the cashier & told him to give me a store-credit card & simply walked away! No thank you.. No eye contact... Just plain rude!!! I guess I pissed her off bad! Cashier too, he snapped an attitude after his boss left! He was struggling with processing the credit... When he finally got it done, he put the card and receipt on the counter for me to grab, then he just turned away to talk to another cashier. Identical to her boss! No eye contact... No "thank you"... Just ignored me. Employees learn from their bosses, I guess it's true: Monkey see, Monkey do! The hitch pin was still sealed, both keys still attached with intact zip-ties, ready to be re-shelved!!! I could understand an attitude if I had brought it weeks after and in bad shape with no original package!! Why are they acting like they're doing YOU a favor by existing?? Not good for business! I don't know WTH their problem was with issuing a credit and make more $$ off of me... And that stinky attitude and poor customer service!!!?? I would like to share my first experience with HF on Hesperia rd. The store hrs indicate that they close at 8pm. I pulled up at 7:53pm as I did a lady came and locked the door and closed the gate inside. I had just left auto zone to rush to HF. When I saw how they locked the doors early there were 3 employees just standing in the front talking to eachother, 2 male, 1 female. I knocked on door several times and they completely ignored me. I will never go to this store again and I will make sure that I let everyone that I know about my first experience that shops there. Treat people how you want to be treated. What I needed from there was important. I understand that they probably wanted to go home, I to work in customer service but the company I work for would not dare allow staff to lock the doors before closing time. I bought a small dog crate here for my small dog. It isn't petsmart quality or even as good as something you would find at Walmart but it was only $27 and it works great. I haven't had any problems with it and I needed it to replace my large crate that I had been using. I didn't want to spend a lot because I already have a few crates. I recommend going to harbor freight if you need something that will not get hard use. Something that is for a few time use of for a light job. There are a ton of deals here but know what you are buying. They have a pretty good return policy and the employees are really helpful. They will carry heavy items out and help you load things. I have even had them help me find things on my list when I was sent to the store for stuff I didn't know what was. They are open weekends too. read more

Second time here today! They have a killer 3 day sale and I'm getting things cheap! Gets a little crowded so come early or come late. Picked an800 lb 2 in 1 dolly for $48! The ladies are a little moody but it probably has to do being packed all day! If you're in the area check them out. They're non electric tools have the same warranty as craftsman. Bought a few hundred dollars worth of products last night. One item was not in stock, even though I had a coupon. So I asked the cashier for a rain check. "We don't do rain checks," he said. Funny, but I've had them before. Hey, I have an idea for the manager of the store. How about training your employees in customer service? Of all the Harbor Freight stores I've been in, this one has absolutely the worst service. Typical for the high desert I suppose. Went in looking for a ladder rack for my truck. After 5 minutes of looking for some help finally found a manager to help me.Let her know what I was looking for and she disappeared for about 10 minutes. When she finally returned she let me know she couldn't find what I was needing and didn't have time to look right now. I went to the store to find a tool to use on a cutting project. I was helped by a very nice staff member named Jackie. The store was crazy busy and the staff was swamped. Jackie took the time to take me to the tool that was best suited for my job. The lady knows her stuff and was a wealth of information and able to answer the 20 something questions I had. The tools are not all top of the line but that is why the prices are so good. Not everyone can afford to buy at the large home improvement stores. And having staff who knows what they are talking about is worth its weight in gold. read more

This place needs new management or re-training. I went in to return a harbor freight merchandise that only harbor freight sells, and was denied because I didn't have my receipt on me. I've purchased thousands of dollars every year there and had to return items b4 without a receipt, or any issues.. now all of a sudden its an issue? This place needs to be consistent, if no receipt gets a no return (even though it's a harbor freight only merchandise and shouldn't matter) then keep it that way and not go back and forth about it.. this incident took place at around 7pm and denied by Management, i believe her name was Jackie. I wouldn't give a star! I purchased a ladder rack inside the store Friday. Saturday I returned the rack because it was missing brackets out of the box. As I was returning rack, I'm told I can't get my money back because I purchased as a debit. Only a gift card!!! But I'm watching other customers return items in front me! I had to stand there and get into a chest match with the manager because I only wanted my money back and not a gift card! I had to stand there for 2 hours waiting for $96.56 back!!!! I will never never never shop at this location again! I had to drive down to Fontana to get my ladder rack with all the parts! Then the same day I drove to another location, I called back to Hesperia just to see if I was being lied to about not having another one in stock. I've been a long time customer. 23 years or so. I recommend HF to everyone in need of inexpensive tools & have spent thousands here. However... Since dealing with the HD HF for 6 years, I've come to realize that SOME of these employees give zero fucks. Don't get me wrong, the older folks know how to do their job. The young ones don't. Turning a customer away near closing is not only bad for business, it can cause that lost customer to lose his / her job. Note to cashiers: Maybe instead of discussing the party you're about to attend, you assist the customers. read more
