God I wish I had seen the reviews prior to buying anything at this store. Bought aviation snips to cut a stainless steel mesh except.. IT DIDN'T CUT IT AT ALL. My kitchen scissors were actually what worked. I came to this store to return it and unfortunately, I had the snips and the receipt in a bag with an alcohol pad and the middle of the receipt was wiped out, however, the name of the store, the date of purchase, the price, AND the transaction # were all visible. (See pics) The guy at the register, Cesar, immediately asked me my #. I said I didn't sign up so then he said he can't do the return. I pointed out all of the above to do a return and he kept making a fuss. Thankfully he asked another guy to read the transaction # and it worked BUT... My husband and I went in to purchase one item. At checkout, we were informed that we would need to sign up with our phone number to make the return process easier. When we politely declined to sign up, the manager insisted that we do so, but we continued to decline. She then mentioned that we would need the original receipt for any return. Sure enough, about six days later, we returned to the store to return an item, and Sarah, the manager on duty, asked for our phone number to look up the receipt. We informed her that we had not signed up at the time of purchase, and she said she could not proceed with the return. We kindly reminded her that the other manager had told us we could return the item if we had the physical receipt. Sarah continued to insist that she might not be able to process the return without our phone number in the system. After repeating what the other manager had told us, she finally processed the return. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Never have we heard of such a rule to have to sign up for their reward system to be able to return any item. read more

I don't know what they changed, but this Harbor Freight no longer has the toxic, plasticky scent it used to. Their tools are amazingly affordable ($10 for a heat gun (Warrior), $25 for a cordless random orbital sander (Bauer), and $40 for a brushless, cordless, oscillating multi-tool (Bauer). They have a tool lineup for the beginner to people in the trades. All workers here have been very professional and helpful. Easy parking. Great location right off 280. Highest recommendation. I purchased two cans of Bondo body filler. I only used half of one can. I tried to return the second sealed and unopened can the following day. The store associate and his assistant manager would not accept the return even though; 1- the can was sealed and, 2- the Harbor Freight Web site clearly states the product is returnable within 90 days (see the photo). Here's the exact statement from the H.F. Website under Warranty Information for Bondo Body Filler: "100% Satisfaction Guarantee! If for ANY reason you are not satisfied with this item, you may return it within 90 days for a full refund or replacement." I called the main H.F. Customer Service and they said the Item is indeed returnable. They asked me to go back to the store and return it. I bought a ICON T10 scanner that the screen was defective (see photo) that was a month and a half ago, and they have received the scanner back and I have still not seen the refund back on my credit card. The website says you will receive a refund in 2 to 3 days. BS the email they sent with the notice that they have received the package and will be issuing a refund was almost two weeks ago. Now the say they haven't received the package and now I have to show proof via UPS even though they sent the email saying they have the package. Yes I am pissed as I was without a scanner for almost two months so I stupidly bought another T10 scanner and so far it works fine. My experience with local stores is better and generally the local staff are more helpful and friendly. Avoid ordering online and buy locally if you can. If you must order online, Home Depot or Lowes offer a vastly superior experience with employees that seem to appreciate their customers. The store was clean and busy. Seemed well stocked and well run. Staff were definitely knowledgeable. Price points ranged according to quality, predictably. Before writing this I looked at some reviews. There seemed to be a disconnect with the 1-3 star reviewers, not to dismiss their feelings, and a lot were complaining about online service. But today I had top notch and thank you Bao- you should be managerial! By the way there was a lot of pointing out that tools are made in China- yes. Probably. But what's not? Look at Amazon. This is a great store if you are looking for certain basic items. For any "simple" item that does not need a lot of precision, such as paint brushes for spreading glue, tarps, or rollers for moving boxes, rope, or clamps etc.... the prices are amazing. I have never had a problem with any tools either. It's perfect if you need a tool that you will not use that often. For example, the small grinder was perfect for a one time project on a fence post. I would not recommend them for any expensive high precision item such as a miter saw. If you want high accuracy for baseboards or picture frames, I recommend paying double and getting a solid product that will last for years. read more

I was not happy with the product I received it didn't work. Fortunately for me Harbor Freight has a ninety day return policy. I called their Support Phone Number and told them my problem. I was told I would have my issue reviewed and would receive a email from his supervisor regarding my issue. I am waiting now to see how well their policy works. My husband loves this place. It's a fantastic place to get all your tool needs at a lower price. Granted you get what you pay for, so the quality is lower than a brand name item you might buy at another home improvement department store. Keep an eye out in your mail for those Retail Saver coupon clipping packs. There's always (yes, always) $5 off coupons and free items with purchase that change from time to time (mini solar flashlights, the awesome extendable arm grabber, ruler, etc) It's also located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking, so I often find myself venturing to Bed, Bath & Beyond or grabbing a quick bite at the multiple eateries while my husband is lost wandering in his home improvement Wonderland. Customer service is trash and a total waste of time. I bought a product value of $7.99 in few minutes I found out wasn't compatible with what I needed. Try to return it with reciept and as condition I have to provide ID (wich they will copy and maintain it as written in their return policy) I did not had my ID and no willing to give it to them to keep. My son drove me 12 miles to the store. They do not have a disclaimer of their return policy in plain view for customers,the manager showed it to me ,printed in back of reciept. Doesn't do any good after purchase is done. I stop doing business with them after 43 years. Be aware. The managers said is a company new policy. My dad has been shopping at this location for years, and he always has a good thing to say about this store. My dad is getting older in years, and asked me to stop by the store for a few tools for him, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything good he's ever said about this store has been true. I came by with my elderly mother, and we were greeted at the door. My mom asked about the tools we were looking for, and the greeter let her know exactly where to find them, which made our trip very fast and easy. At the register, we were helped by Joao (I believe his name tag said JP) who was very patient with all of my mom's questions, and made sure to mention other products that would also be helpful. The world right now is very stressful, but it was nice to see that the team members at this store are still keeping in good spirits and doing their best to help the customers. Keep up the good work!
