Traveling home from South Bend, took a slight detour to see our fav lake in all the world and found Silver Harbor with its' mostly 5 star reviews. Wish i had taken pics of the inviting, casual atmosphere inside and outside. Noted a very friendly setup for kids, and many families enjoying the outdoor games. Our server, Lily, could not have been better. Friendly, helpful, efficient, kind. We thought it was just us (kidding) but she was the same at every table she served, even though she was super busy! Kudos to Lily! One of the best! We had the kitchen split an Asian Crunch Salad as a starter. Fresh and crunchy! Hubby got the Burnt Ends Melt on Detroit Sourdough toast with the house made chips. He loved it and said he'd order it again! I had the Olive Burger and had them put it on their toasted sweet potato jalapeño bun. A Michigan staple, we do not have olive burgers in our state. If you've had an olive burger before, and liked it (as I do whenever we go north) you haven't tried ANYTHING yet! THIS BURGER WAS AMAZING! The burger itself high quality beef and perfectly grilled medium as I requested. Fresh leaf lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, sliced olives, and their delicious homemade olive aioli. It was our first time dining at Silver Harbor and won't be our last. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a small craft brewery. Fun, lively, and modern-- a place where people of all ages can enjoy a great drink and some tasty grindage (yes, I just quoted Pauly Shore)... The unique beer selection hits all the marks and my seltzer was exactly what I needed after a long day in the sun getting burnt at the beach! We started our meal with the Bacon Apple Fig Flatbread and it was outstanding. I'd order it again and again. The Hubbs got the Michigan Olive Burger and practically licked his plate afterward! My Asian Crunch Salad was top-notch--I wish every restaurant had a salad like this!! It was fresh and delicious and paired perfectly with the flatbread. Nacho fries have been calling my name for months, but between cookouts and changes and plans. It's been a little longer to get back here than anticipated, but our visit reminded me why we need to prioritize this place. Awesome food, and drink selections to write home about. Our server I forget his name but gentlemen, that helped us outside on Sunday for chalk fest Waz funny and attentive and just a pro at what he does so kudos to him. And the Bar itself is laid out fantastic with cool vibes on the inside and a great patio space for these nice summer days. I got the nacho fries again and they are so tasty. I don't think it had the queso last time so that just even more! My wife's sandwich was delicious the grilled cheese Gouda or something like that. And my in-laws that joined us had the fishing chips and then the burnt and melt, and everybody was complementary of their food dishes. Being busy for chalk fest didn't really slow down the service or the food times so great job to the team. I would highly recommend the man to give this place a shot. They were almost chewy instead of crunchy. Maple Bacon Brussel Sprouts (3/5): Tasted like roasted brussel sprouts drowned in maple syrup. Definitely needed more bacon and less syrup. Pork Belly Ramen Bowl (2/5): Should've known not to get ramen at a place like this. Basically soggy noodles with very little flavor. It was honestly surprising how bland it was. Another great visit to SHB! The beer selection was great as always. Tried an old favorite and two new brews. Psychedelic Pils is one of the best Pilsners I've had. Drop It like it's Hot is a Norwegian Farmhouse IPA , a style I've never tried, or heard of. It is spectacular. The food and service was top notch. Stella was our server. Very competent and focused on customers and a very pleasant positive demeanor. The only negative was one of the hostesses who was not helpful and rude. Have now been a few times and look forward to going each time. There's a big patio which is ideal in the summer and it's a dog-friendly patio as well. While we had to kinda awkwardly drive through some alleys to find the patio, it made it quiet and isolated which made for some really nice drinks. We had the cheese curds and brussels sprouts. The cheese curds were quite tasty and not greasy or anything. Conversely the brussels sprouts were basically smothered in maple syrup. More maple syrup than a veggie dish. The beers were good too, not sure anything blew me away but also nothing I tried was bad. It's a good variety of styles which is great for a non-IPA guy like myself. When our group was slowly leaving some staff even asked if we could consolidate so that they could seat another group. We all got our food in a very timely manner. I got the pear salad and split a poutine burger. The pear salad was very good, and the half size was a perfect amount for a meal.
