It was our first time dining at Silver Harbor and won't be our last. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a small craft brewery. Fun, lively, and modern-- a place where people of all ages can enjoy a great drink and some tasty grindage (yes, I just quoted Pauly Shore)... The unique beer selection hits all the marks and my seltzer was exactly what I needed after a long day in the sun getting burnt at the beach! We started our meal with the Bacon Apple Fig Flatbread and it was outstanding. I'd order it again and again. The Hubbs got the Michigan Olive Burger and practically licked his plate afterward! My husband had the fried pork chop sandwich with fries, and it was absolutely delicious. I went with the fish and chips and they were exceptional; crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also shared a flight of beers, and most of them were fantastic. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, the place was clean (including the bathrooms), and the service was excellent. Another great visit to SHB! The beer selection was great as always. Tried an old favorite and two new brews. Psychedelic Pils is one of the best Pilsners I've had. Drop It like it's Hot is a Norwegian Farmhouse IPA , a style I've never tried, or heard of. It is spectacular. The food and service was top notch. Stella was our server. Very competent and focused on customers and a very pleasant positive demeanor. The only negative was one of the hostesses who was not helpful and rude. Have now been a few times and look forward to going each time. There's a big patio which is ideal in the summer and it's a dog-friendly patio as well. While we had to kinda awkwardly drive through some alleys to find the patio, it made it quiet and isolated which made for some really nice drinks. We had the cheese curds and brussels sprouts. The cheese curds were quite tasty and not greasy or anything. Conversely the brussels sprouts were basically smothered in maple syrup. More maple syrup than a veggie dish. The beers were good too, not sure anything blew me away but also nothing I tried was bad. It's a good variety of styles which is great for a non-IPA guy like myself. A great place we stumbled across for chalk fest so we came back to try it out. Great options for outdoor seating on the beautiful days or plenty of tables inside as well with lots of TVs for game days. Our servers were all super friendly and helpful, we had a big group (8) so maybe that delayed the food a little bit but it was well worth the wait. Cheese curds starter also helped hold us over a little bit and was delicious. Others at the table ordered the fish which was huge and enough for two. I got the nacho fries and though it was likely loaded with calories it was so deliciously good. Every bite had so much flavor and they didn't skimp on the loaded nacho part. We sat outside yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon on a hot 90 degree day and ordered nachos, kids cheese pizza and Mac and beer cheese. After an hour, our food still hadn't arrived. We told the waitress we were traveling and asked why it was taking so long. She said she asked the kitchen and it was the nachos that were taking long. We told her we had to leave. We were traveling with a child and had another two hours to drive so we asked her to put the food in a bag to go. She went to another table and took their order before finally getting our food ready to go. It then took another 10 minutes to be able to pay the check. She apologized but nothing was taken off the bill - not even our appetizer cheese curd or drinks. We were hungry, hot and had driven 2 hours in traffic to get to the restaurant with another 2 hours to get home. We didn't for a manager because we didn't want wait any longer. That was almost an hour and a half wasted sitting there and leaving hungry and dissatisfied. I thought the burger was underflavored, but that's because the whole thing was so huge I was missing beer cheese in my bites. Once I gnawed over to that side, the flavors came together. Even the chips are tasty, and I might could've gotten waffle fries... saw someone else with those, worth the upgrade IMO. Now, it was messy. We've been here several times over the last few years and it never disappoints. What I love most is that they allow dogs in their outdoor seating area. This has made traveling with our pup so easy! But their food is also really really good. From their burger to their Cuban sandwich, I have yet to find something I didn't like. I tried their Caesar salad yesterday, which isn't made the traditional way - it has grilled artichokes and grilled tomatoes added to it. It was amazing! We were both impressed by the extensive menu with multiple options for vegan and vegetarians. We started with the nacho fries, waffle fries with cheese, salsa verde, guac, black beans and more. The toppings were excellent, and I could not believe how well the fries held up. My brother loved it. I enjoyed it but would have preferred tortilla chips. For dinner, my brother ordered the Brussels Sprouts. Why does everyone put bacon on these veggies? He enjoyed them, I gave him the side eye for ordering something I could not share. I chose the Wild Mushroom grain bowl. Really excellent. Loved the combination of the mushrooms with the chickpeas and grain. The hoisin based sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but still enjoyed it. My only complaint is the size. It is so large. I took two thirds of it home. A half size would be a welcome option, esp. since it is one of the pricier items on the menu. The beer was good. Traveling from the other Twin Cities (the Minnesota one), I could not get over how reasonable the beer prices were. The ""Once you go belgian" was excellent and really nailed the style. The Hefeweizen was decent - not too much banana, which is often my complaint with this type of beer, but the overall flavor was a little subdued. The outdoor seating is spacious and welcoming.
