The ladies behind the counter were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made browsing even more enjoyable. Prices were low compared to the Goodwills we go to, and we had a great time digging through all the little treasures. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time just exploring. Overall, we found Anchor Thrift to be a fun, friendly spot that we look forward to visiting again.

This Supercenter seems a bit smaller than some of the other ones I have been to but I have also been to smaller models also so as far as size and variety goes it falls about in the middle. The Garden Center is quite a bit smaller than other store locations and therefore when it becomes a seasonal area for the holidays the selection there too is influenced. So all in all this store falls in the middle for most of all those things as far as my rating goes. I can say however whenever we are out in Aberdeen we usually are coming back from Westport, a favorite small town of ours to visit...we almost always swing by this Walmart on our drive to "powder our noses ".

Quite frankly, I felt completely comfortable with the presence of my existence; anyone coherent is absolutely capable of pointing out how miniscule and irrelevant the difference was, measured in comparison of 'one vs. another.' When someone does something, or says something to you very publicly to make you feel like you have done something to deserve being singled out and accused of having alterior motive for certain actions that "you are absolutely positive in your immediate instinctual call of judgement" that I just *HAD* to be up to no fucking good! Well lady - thanks for humiliating me in public, which is totally my favorite passed time..(not.) You very obviously felt proud of your professional business decision to accuse somebody with severe CPTSD, crippling anxiety, and ticks that are ESPECIALLY coaxed out of me when my brain and body feel any emotions that trigger my fight, flight, or freeze reactions. This is something that has become apart of what "normal" is for ME after enduring significant reoccurring traumatic events throughout my life. You'd sit in a chair and a shoe salesman would break out the foot measuring device, stick your foot in it and see that foot's length and width. Then he'd go into the stockroom in the back and return with a few boxes of shoes in your size to try on and he'd help you with the fit. For the most part, all that's gone now. And that's why I was delighted to discover that Beck's Shoes still gives that same personal shoe sizing and fitting service I remember from years ago. Kevin, the shoe salesman on duty, was the personification of the highly trained and experienced shoe professional I was hoping for. But what made him truly valuable for me was his understanding of the balance and other issues I face with peripheral neuropathy because he deals with it, too. Before I stepped onto the foot measuring device he held up an arm and fist for me to cling to because he knew I was afraid of falling. That was immense for me, and Kevin immediately became my buddy. Kevin was a marvel. While my wife and I were there, three other customers came in and Kevin showed us all personal attention without any of us feeling neglected. That's extremely hard for a one-person store and yet Kevin did it effortlessly while maintaining friendly and personal service with each of us. You bet I trusted whatever advice he had for me after that. I left the store with two pairs of New Balance shoes and two pairs of Aetrex insoles that both my podiatrist and Kevin suggested. I'm now walking far better and more comfortably despite my neuropathy thanks to my new buddy. This store has a huge stock of shoes so finding the model you like in the size you need should be fairly easy. They sell a bunch of accessories, too. What's cool about the store is all the photos documenting the chains 105 year history. And that says something: The likes of Thom McAn and Kinney Shoes are long gone but Beck's Shoes is thriving. The chain offers exceptional customer service that should never be considered old-timey, and fair prices, discounts and rewards. It's the only place I'm buying shoes from now on.
