I had the opportunity to visit Harbor Spine and Wellness earlier this year after being in a car accident. Initially, I sought out Dr. Tran's chiropractic services and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they also had car accident attorneys on their team. Having already contacted another law firm, my decision to give them a try was somewhat spontaneous. Here's my overall experience: **Pros:** - The team at Harbor Spine and Wellness was incredibly friendly. Angie and Laurena, in particular, were always there to greet us with a warm smile. - Dr. Tran's chiropractic care significantly improved the way my body felt after the accident. **Cons:** The major issue arose when it came to the duration of my treatment plan. When we signed the contract with Dr. Tran, he informed us that it would be a total of 5 months of sessions. The first few months consisted of three sessions per week, which was then supposed to be reduced to two sessions for the next few months, and eventually down to one session per week. However, as we approached the transition from two to one session per week, it never happened. We continued with two sessions weekly. When I reached the supposed 5-month mark, I inquired about my remaining sessions and received conflicting answers from the staff. One worker told me we had about 9 sessions left, while another said that the following week would be my last. Dr. Tran then informed me that I had until the end of September to complete my sessions, which would have extended my treatment to 6 months. What frustrated me the most was the lack of communication and transparency regarding this discrepancy. Dr. Tran explained that they had changed their policy from counting months to counting sessions between our appointments, but this change was never communicated to me. I had signed a contract based on months, not sessions. Had I not inquired about this, I would have continued treatment until the end of the month. When I addressed my concerns with Dr. Tran, he simply told me that he could discharge me right away and that it wouldn't make a difference, which left me feeling unheard and unsatisfied. In conclusion, I'm grateful for the help Harbor Spine and Wellness provided in my recovery and improving my overall health. However, I believe that the communication and transparency regarding treatment plans and policy changes could have been much better. It's essential for patients to be well-informed about the terms of their treatment, and I felt let down in this aspect of my experience. read more

First visit to this location and Customer service was great. The doctor was very informative and made me feel comfortable. The adjustment was very quick. I did not have high expectations for this place since it was an Amazon deal. $39 for an hour massage, it can't be _that_ bad, right? Despite the few negative reviews about making appointments and friendliness of their staff, it was easy to make an appointment and the front desk was pleasant. I arrived early, but my appointment started late. Red flag rose when I heard the staff outside in the hallway laughing and chattering away when I was getting ready in one of the rooms. I couldn't believe how loud they were. On to the massage. Oh, the massage. It wasn't necessarily bad, but I could have gone without it. While my massage therapist was very friendly, she was also very talkative! I was a little annoyed that she was talking to me the entire time. I was hoping she'd get the hint when I stopped replying to her. She kept going on and on with her fitness tips and telling me how I should stop lifting heavy. Lady, DYEL?! Anyway, she did find a knot I've had on my back for months now and tried to get that out. 2 stars for that, but the rest of the massage was not pleasant at all. I've had enough massages in my lifetime to know what a good one feels like. The room was extremely stuffy and the sheets were rough and worn. Plus the unsolicited workout advice, and overall chattiness made this whole experience a bad one. The whole establishment just felt very unprofessional. I normally wish the hour would last, but in this case, I couldn't wait for it to end. Needless to say, I ran out as soon as it was over. After getting rear ended last month, I was referred to Dr. Tran. Upon arrival, the staff up front were polite and didn't keep me waiting for too long. I was first seen by Dr. Tran and he was fairly thorough in getting details of my accident to get an idea what needs to be focused on more intently. The staff is very polite and kind, they're also very accommodating to which room I wanted to utilize that particular session. Each room has their own relaxation sound system, each machine has it's own use, which I personally appreciated. Oh, and it's comforting to know they're clean. I have been treated for a month and gotten adjusted a few times, and I must admit I feel a whole lot better. I went from little movements to near full range. I went from not being able to reach over my head to having mobility functions. My back has given me some relief where I no longer feel the need to take pain relieving medication everyday or use a cane to ease myself. Got to give it to Dr. Tran and the gals. I went in for a massage today. The massage therapist was done by a male named Johnny. I would give him 5 stars for the massage, although I received a phone call today (same day of appt) at 1:30pm asking me if a male was okay since the female massage therapist would not be there. That was a little of an inconvenience. Overall though, Johnny was very unassuming and asked if I had ever gotten a massage before. He made sure I was comfortable. The service was good. I had gotten into a car accident and one of the employees heard the crash and gave me a business card. A few days later I started having back pain so I went in & was told that through their attorney KT Tran I wouldn't have to pay and they would help with my car situation. The chiropractic treatment was great and completely free because they worked with my insurance but KT Tran seemed to completely neglect my car situation, I called for updates and the assistants seemed rather quiet when asking about the progress. I was told I would have nothing to worry about and i wouldn't have to pay anything but when I got a call that all repairs were done on my vehicle and I had to pay them now or lose me vehicle he was no help. I had just had a child and spent months having to be inconvenienced and walk from location to location with my new born son. When asking about paying for my vehicle he claimed that I had spent the check that my insurance had given me when it was only a fraction of the cost for the vehicle and he refused to pay anymore as well as my insurance although I signed a contract with him promising my car back to me. The auto repair shop was angry as well because they had to keep the car stored until they got the money for the car or I signed the car over to them, they even offered to help me sue KT Tran. Needless to say I'd avoid this establishment as long as the doctor and KT Tran are working together. It's been months now, my son is a year and a half and I still have no car to get to work, the store, take him to his head start program...etc. I appreciate the help with my body but I would sacrifice my body for my son anyday to not have to walk on the cold consistently and be able to get a proper education without inconvenience or inconsistency anyday...I would have just paid for a massage somewhere if that was the case and handled the car situation on my own... read more

I purchased a Groupon Now! for a 60 minute massage at Harbor Spine & Wellness. Reviews elsewhere on the internet were very good, and the price really couldn't be beat. I had finished up two classes ahead of schedule, so I figured this would be a nice way to reward myself. Oh. Mygosh. This was the BEST massage I have EVER had. I have gotten my fair share of professional massages (both expensive and cheap) at spas, massage parlors, fancy gyms, etc. They ranged from being OK to pretty useless. I have had huge knots in my shoulder area for as long as I can remember, but none of my massages have ever REALLY gotten rid of the knots. Most masseuses wouldn't even try. They would just go through their 60 minute or 90 minute long routine, not really atune to how MY muscles were, and within a day (or even hours after my massage) I would acutely feel my shoulders tightening up again. Why did I keep getting massages? Because for the hour or so they were working on me, it (usually) felt pretty good. Cherie was different. She started her routine and immediately asked me how long I've had the knots in my shoulder. I was surprised because nobody had ever asked me before. I told her that I couldn't really remember. She mentioned that the knots in my left shoulder were so tight that it was making the height of my shoulder's uneven. Again I was surprised because, while six or so years ago I had noticed my shoulders weren't straight, I had assumed it was just the way I was built. Forty or so minutes later (after having masterfully gone over over the rest of my body) she started focusing on my shoulders. Patiently, she worked out all but one of my knots, which she couldn't finish simply because she ran out of time. (Keep in mind that I'd had these knots for many many years and they were HUGE.) The process wasn't painful. The end result was wonderful: MY SHOULDERS ARE EVEN NOW. Two days later and I'm STILL feeling relaxed and soft. It's amazing. Absolutely. Amazing. That alone is worth 5 stars to me. But it gets better because the experience surrounding my massage was also wonderful. While the exterior of the building isn't much to look at, the interior was quite nice. They had coffee, water, and snacks available for clients. They also had one of the most beautiful fish tanks I have ever seen in the waiting area (it's not huge, but it's decorated with natural vegetation and the fish are simply mesmerizing). The staff was very friendly and nice, both on the phone and in person. The entire facility was extremely clean. The massage room was simple but beautiful. Their regular prices are a little bit pricey for me (but not unusually so for a professional massage), but I'm already reworking my budget to try and get in here once a month. They also offer chiropractic services, courtesy of the owner, which I'd like to try some time. The only thing that sounds better than an amazing massage is an amazing massage PLUS a back readjustment. Eeeeeee I'm super excited just thinking about it! Sometimes I shamelessly go to get a massage, I admit. Usually I get massage deals on Groupon and this is where I found Harbor Spine and Wellness. For $29, I got a 60-minute massage, which can be a good deal if the place wasn't a 45 minute+ drive from my place. I think from now on, I'd keep my massage places local, despite the good deals and pay ~$15-20 more for a session. This location is in a Chiropractor Office that also doubles as a Spa. They do take later appointments during the week (usually latest is at 6pm) and also have appointments on weekends. I found out the hard way that if you're late they'll take time off of your massage, which is ok, I just wish they didn't schedule appointments back to back like they do. I had a great experience here, from the front desk lady to my massage therapist. I left the spa very relaxed and refreshed, even after a short 40 minute massage. During my massage, they were playing background noise (birds chirping), which was relaxing and distracting, but didn't last the whole time. The last 15 minutes or so, I could hear noise from the office -- phone ringing, talking, etc. My massage therapist was friendly and gave a great massage. I did notice that this place is offering a 60-minute massage for $39, which is good if you live near by. Would I come back here? Probably not -- it's too far away for me and the price and atmosphere isn't up to par for me as far as total relaxation. Happy Spa going! read more

My last review wasn't awesome. Dr. Tranh decided he needed to change my mind and bribed me into giving it another shot. It worked. Dr. Tran suggested I see Art, and I did. And I fell in love. Art completely changed my opinion of this place. He started by asking questions and explaining what he was going to do. I was relaxed the entire time, and I still am(even after getting a crappy pedicure next door-DONT DO IT. It sounds like a good idea, but it's not, I promise.) Art managed to relax things I didn't even know where capable of relaxing. I'm pretty abnormally well-endowed chest wise and apparently my chest muscles are a mess. I didn't know this until after Art fixed me. I can sit up straight without feeling like I'm getting pulled down. I haven't been able to do that since puberty. My ONLY residiual complaint from my last review is that my appointment was or 200 and Art didn't come out til 210. He made up for it though by continuing the massage til 215. Art was so good, I forgot to tip him, which I am absolutely mortified by. I kinda stumbled out to my car in a daze and didn't even think to do it. I recently bought a yelp deal for an hour massage. Understanding that i was 15 mins late to my appt and that it would have been taken out of my time. This review is not base on that. If you just brought yours wait 2-3 week till you make an apt cuz i try to reschedule knowing that i was gonna be late they didn't have an opening till 2 week after. My therapist ask me what area should he/she concentrate on and i have stated that i recently got in a car accident and my upper shoulder was very sore. Needless to say i wish my therapist would concentrate more on my shoulder like he/she said, knowing that my time is already cut short. I arrive with a sore back and left with a sore back. As sore as i was and unhappy, i feel that its proper to leave a tip. But when i ask the receptionist for change she said she didn't have change. (no change for a 20? Than why would you even have cash box?) it wasn't like i was asking for change for 100. I work for tips too and i understand, but when i know i didn't give the best of customer service i don't expect much. But the way she said she didn't have change, i knew she was lying. Sorry but that just SHAD-DY!!! so I'll take my money Else where. And as for the massage i wish they would have change the lotion and used oil instead, i felt my therapist consistently kept adding more and more lotion..maybe the owner should consider turning on the sound a little louder. throughout the massage, all i would hear was my therapist breathing really hard. lol Also you might consider envelope so the guest can leave their tip for the therapist. read more

I found this place because of Groupon and took advantage of the $29 deal. I made an appointment for next day and was surprised that this was located in the now El Super shopping center. I never noticed it before and originally thought it was the new reflexology place that sprouted up by Chase bank. It's not, its on the far end to the South of El Super along the same row as the Rite Aid. The receptionist was nice and checked me in and got me on my merry way to my massage quickly. My masseuse (Carlos?) was nice and asked what areas I wanted to focus on and I said just my neck shoulders and back. I was very happy with the beginning of the massage. It seemed that Carlos was definitely keen as to where my trigger points/knots were and carefully kneading them out, but then stopped and continued on a full body massage which I find usually unnecessary. I would much rather you focus on my key spots. I guess I should have made that clearer in the beginning. What a waste of time and gasoline!!! I asked Lorena their office person if everyone, doctor and staff, wear a mask before I even made my appointment. I was assured everyone did. I was very surprised to be greeted by an unmasked staff member at the desk. She did put one on when requested. I met the doctor and said I was told everyone in the office masked before I came in. I also said if I came in again and was met by an unmasked staff member I would leave. He stated he does not require staff to be masked in the office and suggested we "disengage". Osteoporosis? Not me! Never. How do I know? Because I am being taken care of by the staff here at Harbor Spine & Wellness! Dr. Tran knows how to take great care of you, is easygoing and friendly. He is always asking how my day was going every time I saw him, and made sure his therapists took care of me. His adjustments always make me feel more energetic the entire day. All the masseuses here are fantastic! I have had four different ones, but my main person is Art. They are ALL great. The amount of pressure applied is always perfect (and even if it is not, they always ask how the pressure is and will correct it). Full body massage for only $29... I don't think you can find a better place! The full body massages here consist of EVERYTHING: upper and lower back, arms, legs, feet, hands, and even head! What's even better is that they respect my opinion when I say I am only looking for my back on certain days.. so they just mainly focus on that. The ambiance in the massage room is very relaxing and comfortable. The place is clean. Staff are extremely friendly. The receptionist at the desk always greet me by name. I've been dying for a massage for a while now and this place popped up on Groupon Now! - $29 for an hour massage. It was a good deal so I gave the place a try. The exterior of the building is nothing special, but the interior is lovely. The front office staff were really friendly. I didn't have to wait too long before Cherie (sp?) came out to get me. The massage room itself is pretty sparse, nothing fancy, but this isn't a spa so that's understandable. I changed out of my clothes, got on the table, and to my surprise got one of the best massages I've had in a long while. One thing I found strange was Cherie never asked me if I wanted her to concentrate on any particular spots nor did she check with me if the pressure was okay. It all worked out fine because the massage was great & she hit all the spots at the right pressure - I just thought it was weird she didn't ask beforehand. Then again maybe she can just tell? Staff was very friendly was greeted as soon as I walked in. I had Carolina and she did a great job on working on my back where I had the most problems. It's Thurday. I'm badly in need of getting a massage. I sign on to Groupon. I found this place with $29 for an hr massage Groupon deal. After I checked out Yelp, I decided to give it a try. I made an appointment after I bought the Groupon. I went today and I was immediately met with my massage therapist within minutes. She took me to the massage room, where it had dimmed light and nice music. For an hour, she totally worked out my shoulder knots, my back, legs, and feet. Oh and hands and arms. I was totally relaxed, and seriously, I felt like I was sleeping even though I was awake the whole time. I walked out feeling so good, so relaxed. My husband felt my shoulders and was impressed with how soft they feel. I've never had soft shoulders. I will definitely go back to get more massages. read more

AhHhHhhh..oh-so-good massage by Angelica, I almost don't want to share her with anyone and save her for myself! It got to a point where every time I think about my hr long massage with Angelica, I had a glazed mellow smile like I was just in a hot box with a bunch of pot heads. It may have creeped her out.. but i'm pretty sure she's used to getting that look from her clients by now. Pros: -She knew exactly where my BEASTLY knots were and WORKED them. Hurts so good and I'm not a fan of Swedish massages where they just lather you with lotion...no NOo no this wasn't one of them. She gave a Solid semi deep tissue massage and went on A MISSION to breakdown my knots. -I almost fell asleep and I'm usually very ticklish when they start working on my feet. No tickles here just pure spot on foot massage!! -I love that she didn't try to make small talk either, so I went off to La-la land with the music in the background. Cons: -Walls are bit thin, so next door convo can be heard..Boooooo -Just cold water for drinks.. I was in a car accident 2 months ago and was referred here through my lawyer. I have been coming in 2-3 times a week, and I get an adjustment by Dr. Tran himself or a massage therapist every time without fail, unless I request not to. After each adjustment, I sit in the massage chair for 10-15 minutes depending on how much time I have. Every single staff member has been a pleasure to deal with. This place is legit and as for massages, I would recommend you request for J/Jay, an African American female massage therapist. She only worked on me for 5 mins but it felt so good. I can only imagine if it lasted an hour. I will probably be back regularly even after my treatment ends. I've had other massage therapists work on me for about 5 minutes too and they do truly know where your problems areas are. They belong here at the chiropractor, but Jay left an impression for a relaxing massage. read more

I just called after reading all these great reviews! Maybe the massage therapist and Dr. Tran is amazing but the front reception or whoever answers the phone is RUDE, HORRIBLE AND NOT HELPFUL. The front receptionist is the first person the customer sees and my friend went in her once and told me that the therapists that do the massage are great but whoever was at the front when she came in was not nice and rude at all. She said the woman kept staring at her and giving her rude faces. So I am pretty sure whoever I just spoke to is the same woman. I wanted to make an appointment and MENTIONED the internet special they have on yelp and on the website of this establishment and she rudely said "oh you want the cheaper deal" WOW. Then she said no appointments were available, when clearly before i mentioned the deal she was all about getting me in today (she even asked if it was for today!) . Advice for you Dr. Tran... you should do secret shop calls with your front office and maybe listen to the rudeness i just encountered! Why put a deal online that is a very good price which attracts customers just to receive really crappy customer service. I might as well go to Burke Williams and pay the $109 dollars for a massage and be treated great than have to deal with that crap. Over it. I don't know why people have any complaints. The staff seemed friendly and willing to work with you. Also before you get your massage drink plenty of water the day before and after. Woke up sore as if I hit the gym for ten hours straight. Wow what a great feeling. You know if you got a great rub down if your sore the next day. "THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE PROBLEM; THE PROBLEM IS YOUR ATTITUDE ABOUT THE PROBLEM" I've gone here 6+ times, but no more... for ONE MAIN REASON: their front desk makes has made too many mistakes (scheduling) for me -- and when they messed up, no compensation, etc., just "oh, we're sorry" -- leaving me at loss for ... TIME. (Wasted time!!!) One time, I went for my appointment with the person I had requested, and always go to. Well, when I got there, they had booked my person with someone else, and decided i didn't need to know. So, when I got into the room for my massage, a strange person came in, who also turned out to be really, really bad. I actually had to leave (awkward!), and then I asked the front-desk why they had someone else working on me. They said my requested (and booked! / promised!) person was "busy" with someone else. Thus, I ended up waiting for my friend (we had come together) in the waiting room, wasting my time, due to their mistake! Today, Saturday, I drove for 40 minutes to go to my massage appointment I had made with them on the phone (I spoke to a guy) last Thursday. When I got there, they were CLOSED. I saw the deal on Groupon for a $29 1 hour massage and I saw that the place was about 5 min away from me. I have been dying for a massage, as my back has been kind of achy lately, and I figured I'd give this place a try. The reviews were a bit mixed, but for $29 I was willing to take my chances. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! It's located in a busy shopping center and from the outside, you probably wouldn't give it a second look, but the inside is nice and the massage rooms are spacious and comfortable. My massage therapist was Wendy, and though she looks young, she is definitely experienced and very intuitive. The only thing I told her was that I wanted to focus on my upper back, shoulders and neck. Not one more word was said between us. I loved the fact that she didn't try chatting during the massage and she focused on exactly the parts I requested and it was as if she knew EXACTLY where my pain was. She applied just enough pressure to where I felt relief without pain. It was amazing. I've never had a massage where I didn't have to tell the therapist to add more or ease up on the pressure. Also, I usually will endure a bit of pain if I know I'll get relief on the end, but she succeeded in giving me exactly what I needed without the pain!! I had an appointment scheduled on a Tuesday at 4:30pm. I took a half day off of work to realize the place was closed. I called this business before driving there to see if they could see me earlier than my appt time and their phone just kept ringing. I drove there and saw a sign on the door "we are closed for the day!" They had no courtesy to call me and let me know they would be closed. So unprofessional! Tried scheduling twice with them after buying a groupon. Both times i confirmed my appointment 3 hours before the scheduled appointment and they would confirm the correct time. When i showed up each time, they stated that my appointment was 15 minutes earlier than what we had confirmed and asked me to reschedule for later in the week. Not actually sure how the massages are because they couldnt seem to keep the appointment time consistant. I think it is fair to say that any business that takes on Groupon clients has their hands full. That being said, I am THAT Groupon customer. I am cheap and want my experience to be perfect, even at the drastically lower price. I am a bitch, I admit. At Harbor Spine & Wellness, you will get a very very good massage. I would pay normal price for a massage here based on the quality. Wendy was excellent, as previous Yelpers have mentioned. I have been getting massages for years now, normally like men because of their strength (to get my knots out). But after being casually molested by a man at another establishment, I asked for a female. Wendy gave a strong massage without hurting me. Just perfect.
