I remember coming here as a kid when this place was owned by this cute old asian couple, with the antiquey exterior, Harbord Fish and Chips used to be a staple in this neighbourhood. Ever since they got bought the quality has greatly decreased. Even the modernized exterior is just so ugly. The packaging is excessive and doesnt make sense. They pack everything into this giant cake box. I ordered a single order of Haddock, it doesnt make sense. The fish is however bland. Without an packaged wholesale tartar sauce, it would have no flavour. It tasted overly peppery as well. It also tasted like the oil they used was used several times over and even after finishing the lingering taste of old oil remained in my mouth. Cook on the fish on the hand is not bad. Sadly flavours is what matters and not just the cook of the fish. There was also a bone in my fish which shouldn't have happened. If there fish was this bad, I can only imagine how their fries would turn out.

It's like they just opened a box of Jane's frozen chicken tenders.

Don't order chicken fingers. You'd do better just to get a cheap box of frozen ones and cook them yourself. Had high hopes... But my family will stick to other better local options. They should put more effort into chicken if it's actually in their name. Disappointment.

There's way too much batter and the fish was too thin. There was batter/ doughy parts where they Fish should be in the middle and definitely disappointing. The fries were ok when warm but once cooled down, they were dry and not soft inside. Super pricy for such little fish filet.

Fish and chips don't get much worse than this place. The chips were burnt and over saturated in oil. The fish, or lack there of is more like deep fried fish skin. The batter is probably the least most disgusting thing. It is still not great batter.

Something about this place makes me like it. Maybe it's the incredibly small and cozy feel to it. This little shack on Harbord spits out Fish & Chips of really good quality. I feel it really is one of the best Fish & Chips places in the downtown area (closely competing with Chippy's Fish & Chips on Bloor & Bathurst). There's just something about this place that when you walk into it, you really feel like you're sea-side and the server is a sea captain serving you fresh fish. The fish then come wrapped in newspaper and filled with fine chips. Although this isn't a fancy place (obviously) so don't expect TOO much but if you're craving really good normal fish and chips for a good price then you've definitely found the place!

L-O-V-E Harbord Fish & Chips and find myself here (shamefully) at least once a week! My sidekick & I split a single halibut & chips w/ 2 pops (about $16) and it's plenty for us to both feel full but not bursting. The fish portion is quite large, and they are super generous with their fries. It's a tiny spot with 2 or 3 stools inside and 4 picnic tables outside. I just love coming here and eating under their awning, watching the Harbord st traffic go by. A family operation, staff are super friendly and always happy to see us. I've never taken fish to go so I can't vouch for how well it travels . Cash only. Ps. The west wall is painted baby blue and blooms with hot pink cosmos all summer - v. instagrammable! :)

Reviewed Dish: Halibut and Fries It's really an unassuming hole in the wall kind of place. It's more catered to take out crowds, it can probably sit 3 people inside. But there's a table outside the restaurant. The halibut is so fresh that the meat is still flaky, the batter is so light light and crisp. The finished product is easily the size of 2 pieces of fish anywhere else! Overall the portion size is more than any other Fish & Chips place I went to, and it tastes incredible. They even have a hand press to make the fries on the spot, so it's really fresh. The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

The restaurant is a decent size with a cozy and relaxing ambiance. We ordered some of the most popular dishes, and everything that came out was absolutely delicious. Every dish had its own unique flavour and taste. There was a small mix-up with our order when one of the staff accidentally brought us tofu shrimp instead of the fried rice we ordered. Amy, one of the servers/managers, handled the situation so professionally. Even though it was already last call and the kitchen was closing, she was able to have the correct dish remade for us. She sincerely apologized for the mistake and even gave us a complimentary plum drink along with some butter cranberry cookies. Amy provided exceptional customer service and was absolutely awesome throughout the experience. Despite the long wait, the food and service made it worth it. I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure be coming back!
