Seared Sea Scallops with white bean and sausage ragout.

Harbourside Restaurant is a little pricey, but they offer a great selection of fresh, tasty seafood and a beautiful view of the marina. We decided to have dinner here our first night at South Seas Island Resort because the restaurant was footsteps away from our hotel room and the fish of the day was blackened grouper...yum! Since we were visiting in the off season we didn't need a reservation, but I suggest making one if you are visiting in the summer. The weather was perfect so we decided to eat outside on the porch. We did have a slight problem with the mosquitos despite the tiki torches. (Luckily, I keep mosquito repellant wipes in my purse.) Once we were covered in bug repellant we were able to enjoy our dinner. Had we not brought the bug repellant I would have had to move to an inside table. The wine menu included a few reasonably priced bottles of wine so we started off our meal with a great bottle of cabernet that was just under $40. I couldn't resist the assorted bread basket brought to our table. The homemade honey butter served with the bread was heavenly! I started off my meal with the house salad half portion and the salad was HUGE! Even though it was delicious I had to stop eating it so I would have room for my dinner. My scallops were perfectly seared. The white bean and sausage looked a little weird with the peas, but it was delicous and I had to dip more bread into the sinful sauce on my plate. My husband's blackened grouper on a plate of wilted asparagus salad was the best grouper I have ever had. The meal was light, yet full of flavor! We skipped dessert so we could walk over to Scoops and Slices after our meal. I would definitely come back to this restaurant during our next visit to Captiva Island!

We had very good service throughout even though they were busy. We weren't rushed. We dined leisurely but without gaps between courses. We shared a Caesar salad to start. It was a good appetizer. For my main entree, I had the lamb chops. There were two double chops perfectly cooked to my request -- crisped on the outside. They were delicious. And served over mashed potatoes with asparagus and carrots. The portion was large. My husband had the burgundy braised short ribs. The meat was tender and flavorful. He said the sauce they were in was just rich and wonderful. We were too full to try any of their desserts. As we were leaving, we both said that this restaurant is a "keeper". We wished we'd been here sooner.

After a friendly welcome, we were seated and our server Eric took our drink orders. After looking over the menu and hearing the tempting Specials for the night, we chose our meals. We shared a Caesar salad and I had the Short ribs over red bliss mashed potatoes. YUM! My wife had the Lamb chops, charred and cooked to her desired temperature. She loved them! We looked at the desert menu but were pleasantly full and gave dessert a pass. Great ambiance, great service, Great food and a wonderful evening!

We also just walked in after dinner one evening and one of the servers got us rang up and got our dessert pretty quickly which was nice. The key lime was lovely. It was the right amount of tart, along with the whipped cream and some tart raspberry /lime syrup and it was a splendid combination. It was the perfect dessert to enjoy after a nice beach day and staying in paradise on Captiva. Can't speak for the actual food but the restaurant is super adorable and has half indoor and half outdoor seating and it's really nice. Plus, great key lime pie!

We were so happy to see that they rebuilt and the outside, in particular, looks almost the same! We have always ordered the crab cakes, spinach salad, and Keylime pie. My friend, who lives here, also ordered a Keylime martini. First of all, our waiter, Sal, gave her an outdated menu, so when she ordered the martini for $10, she was charged $15. Then the crab cakes came and they now look like they came from Costco. We asked Sal if they were made in house, and he said they were. Really? Today we ate at the Fresh Catch on Ft Myers Beach. I am posting pictures of the 2 crabcakes from Keylime. which cost me $18.00 and the 3 crabcakes I bought today for dinner at the Fresh Catch Bistro on Ft Myers beach for $15.00. If you're reading this, you decide which ones you wanna buy.

The Bubble Room is known for its cakes, but frankly, I wish we had also come here for or at least the flaming cheese. Parking is it designated for restaurant goers. It is close by the beach so they even have a tenant monitoring people to make sure they do not just park and leave. in their courtyard, they have a gem garden with some outdoor seating and a gorilla cage and some other funky aesthetics. great for if you have kids and want to have them fascinated. There's a Christmas theme for a lot of the tables, but there are also a lot of random assortment in the rooms. I ended up ordering the orange crunch, which is one of the most popular items and boy is that thing sweet. With cream cheese frosting and a lot of orange coloring it was good but definitely decadent and sweet. I would say a better balance cake was actually the butter crunch ice cream pie that was cut with ice cream to balance out the sweetness and the heat. I do like how they had sample slices for you to see the size that you are getting and also the type. They do not show the ice cream ones on the sample cake tray for some obvious reasons. I get why the orange crunch is really good. I definitely wish more of my table was more willing to help me eat it because it's definitely a lot for one person. Definitely do not sleep on exploring the other rooms and walking throughout. A lot of people were doing that and exploring the different rooms. Surprisingly, this place was a lot bigger than I was expecting.
