The ambiance is appealing, and the service was satisfactory. However, the coffee was of poor quality , and there was no sweetener, only simple syrup. The okra appetizer was original and pretty good. My wife liked it. It wasn't a major favorite for me. My salmon, ordered medium rare came well done and had to be returned. When it came back, the second attempt was barely rare but I'd rather have it that was than dry. However, the squash puree that accompanied and the veggies were excellent and redeemed the improper temp on the protein. And after a few minutes, the warmth of the vegetable base cooked the fish which turned into a nice medium rare. Saved by the clock! The rigatoni was good according to the wife, but be warned, it has a spicy kick! To comp us for the little mishap on the salmon temp, they brought a very delicious NY cheesecake with a very nice honey flavored gelato. read more

I'll start with the good. The staff were friendly and they did a great job with the design; it looks great inside. The pork bao buns and bang bang shrimp appetizers were excellent. The smoky bourbon cocktail was also great. However, I received quite possibly the worst cooked ribeye I've ever seen. This is their $60 medium rare ribeye. I had been looking forward to their opening for a while. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very clean and minimalist design. Service was great or at least we lucked out with our waitress. The cornbread was interesting, but quite tasty. The steak was a bit gummy and I didn't love the insane amount of Parmesan cheese on top of the fries. The worst part was how sick my friend and I got that night after our meal. We didn't eat any lettuce, but it matched the symptoms to the lettuce parasite sickness. They served me something I never knew I needed in my life. Corn bread - not just any corn bread. Squares of brown butter cornbread ( topped with apple butter), squares of pork belly ( topped with kimchi) I've had many meals and I have never seen this combination before. I love it and I would order it again! I also ordered the bacon fried veggies. Sultry mix of Brussels sprouts , summer squash and zucchini that danced around in the pan with pork belly and then dresses with a Calabrian aioli. I also tried the bang bang shrimp. Super crispy shrimp topped with a sweet and spicy aioli. I wasn't bad it just want as creative as the other items I tried. Lastly I tried the coco mojito and it was delicious. Brand new restaurant so we were excited to try! Going in, just off the name, I expected American cuisine, so I was surprised by the heavy Asian influence. My initial impression from the outside was that the restaurant could use some work. The curb appeal is definitely lacking. Once we walked inside, though, I loved it. The interior is gorgeous--modern with a minimalist feel, while still incorporating plenty of interesting design elements. The service started off strong. We were greeted warmly, the doors were opened for us, and we immediately felt welcome. Our waitress was super friendly, we did like her but again shocked by something... she's never tried the food. I get it's day 3 but shouldn't the staff be required to sample the food? We ordered the bao buns and the bang bang shrimp as appetizers. Both seemed a little overcooked, but they still tasted good. The biggest disappointment for me was the menu itself. It's very limited, and I was surprised there wasn't a single steak option, wait that's a lie they had steak frites as an option. I even called afterward to ask if it was just a soft-opening menu, but I was told that those are the full offerings. The double smash burger was really good. The bun was soft, the burger was cooked well, and we enjoyed it overall, although it became a little too sweet by the end. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and unfortunately it was so salty that I couldn't finish it--and I love salt. The bottom bun was also completely soggy. Dessert was another letdown. They only offer one option: a chocolate tart. It was, again, just meh. The graham cracker crust was incredibly hard. It actually cut my gums, and one of the people dining with us had a piece of the crust get caught in her throat. Overall, they did a beautiful job with the interior, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the limited menu and inconsistent food just weren't enough for us. I left hungry, and there wasn't a single dish that made me think, "I have to come back for that." The couple with us were upset they had Maine Root and not Coke products, he's an avid Dr Pepper drinker. If you stick with Maine Root at least carry the root beer. 3 stars because it's brand new, if this were established I'd give 2 stars. But I do want to see them do well so will follow their journey. I'd like to ask what is supposed to be their star dish, it seemed more like a lunch place serving $16 burgers and chicken sandwiches with again, meh fries. read more

This is my first time but my wife's 2nd. My brother was in town and we picked Grey Orchard for a late lunch. They both had burgers, mushroom & fried chicken, with a side salad. I had the Grilled chicken with fries. The service was excellent, attentive & friendly. I had a local craft beer on tap, my wife had wine and my brother had tea. My only gripe is, I'm kind of a fussy eater, hate salads and stuff, and I felt the menu was a little limited. That's more my issue than theirs. read more

The interior was extremely trendy, clean and aesthetic and wasn't overly busy (I think that was intentional though). The drink menu was a little small for what I was expecting for cocktails, I'm sure they had more options but I would've liked to see more. For day 2 of soft opening they are doing great. Portions are filling but aren't huge; the quality is great and service is doing well! We had Nate and he took exceptional care of us. Grey Orchard is exactly what Round Rock has been missing. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant feels warm, modern, and welcoming. We were excited to try this new restaurant and had high hopes based on reviews. We were really disappointed. It took 10 minutes for our waiter to grab our drinks and appetizer order, and 30 minutes later our food and drinks did not arrive. Our waiter came by and said the system had an error and he had to re-enter. It took another 15 minutes to get our food and drinks. My drink that was supposed to be smoked table side was not smoked, and when I got my steak, it was very rare. The waiter did not ask how I wanted it and said the sauce would be on the side, even through it was smothered on top and not to my liking. We barely saw our waiter all night, and when we asked a staff member to see our waiter, we overheard him say "I have 16 other tables, they'll just have to wait like the rest" I had to ask the owner/manager a few times for my food to be recooked and for the check and he was attentive, but we will not be coming back. I understand it's a new restaurant, but when you have a bad experience like that, it's hard to give it another chance. read more

Our experience there for a date night was awful. I made a reservation for 6pm on a Friday night, we got sat right away, we ordered some drinks, those took about 20 mins. Ordered our food, steak frites and the rigatoni, kept waiting and waiting, tables next to us who ordered way after us had eaten and left, by time our food came out it had been an hour. My husbands steak looked liked it had been boiled and my rigatoni looked like a lasagna soup. I will never be back. I didn't see a single manager even walking around checking on tables, no one came to apologize about our long wait and the bill was not worth the food or service. read more

Very disappointed in the experience my friend and I had, seeing as I was very excited for the opening of this place. Walked in and we were seated by very welcoming staff, but we waited 10 minutes just for someone to serve us water. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our actual server to show up, but no one did. We finally caught the attention of a random server in which we asked her to get our server. Our server comes in about 5 mins. No introduction of who he even was and no "sorry for the wait". Just a, "Y'all are ready to order? What can I get for y'all?" After the order was put in, it took 30 minutes just for 1 of 2 appetizers to come out. About 10 minutes later our entrees come out. We are still missing our other appetizer and let the server know. They bring that appetizer out after. After we finished eating, we tried multiple times to get the attention of our server for to-go boxes and the bill. We finally get his attention and tell him, but he only brings boxes and zooms off before we could even remind him again about the bill. I guess another server noticed us sitting there waiting and asked if we needed the bill, then proceeded to get it for us. Overall, the experience was not great. The food wasn't terrible but nothing outstanding or something I would consider going back for. We did mention our experience to the host in the front. They apologized and stated they would have a discussion with their manager. Want to start by saying I rarely ever write reviews but after being urged by my friends who accompanied me to this space I thought I'd share. Went to Grey Orchard to celebrate a friend's birthday unfortunately the service was lackluster when it came to our experience. I have visited their sister concepts and had a good experience, so I was excited to try Grey Orchard out! I believe they are trying to create a more upscale experience, but the service felt no different from pluckers or chilis. We could hear on many instances who I'd assume was a manager swearing and using other foul language which was honestly impressive because the volume inside the space was quite loud with music playing and other patrons chatting. Prior to serving our table dessert, their staff made no attempt to wipe our table of remnant food after clearing our plates for desert. Coming from a fine dining background, I was very excited to experience what was promoted as something more upscale for Round Rock, but I was left disappointed. I understand this is a brand new restaurant, so with that in mind I tried to give it grace but unfortunately it seems as though the kinks are not fully worked out yet. Best of luck read more

Our party of four had 530 reservations so we could enjoy happy hour. The brussels sprouts and the tater tot creation were both very good. My happy hour Smashburger was delicious and the gluten-free bun was fresh. The others at my table had the Mediterranean salad, one with chicken and one with salmon. Both thought their salads were top-notch. The Moscow mules were very tasty but a little bit light on the vodka. Our only concern was it was so very noisy that even our party of four had trouble Hearing across our small table. We were there to celebrate a birthday. Instead of a complementary dessert they brought everyone a small glass of champagne so we could toast the birthday girl. We thought that was a lovely touch.
