Well stopped in on a day for a cruise where we finally had some sun!!!! and to see if the crusty old owner was still alive.. well then I decided to have a beer.. so the bartender poured me a beer with the most head I think I have had for some time!! Normally a good thing!!! But Wowowow

I tell ya what, the Shamrock Tavern is one of the nicest speculated dive bars I've ever stepped foot in, regardless of how from the outside the building looks like an old, dilapidated shanty on Pacific Avenue South. Nicely tiled floor, wooden wainscoting along the walls, un-torn and perfectly matched barstools and booths -- this place is simply gorgeous. Even the large, perfectly polished bar came equipped with two grand, brass beer taps hosting about five yummy micro handles, five cheap domestics, and a Guinness Stout. Full menu, but well-known for their delicious Grinders at $7.95.

Great locally-owned bar with good food that's been here for over 50 years. The burgers are great. They have good beers on tap and the drink pours are always generous.

Place is awesome. The vibe is great. They have new owners and now accept cards. Anyone who talks about the food not being the same is off of their rocker because it is the SAME COOK from before it switched owners. You should stop in and relax, it'll be worth it.

    Cash only bar.

A small all green bar with 12 beers on tap and 2 pool tables. No happy hour except on Sundays. Not much to do here, the only reason I came in was to wait for my car which was being fixed across the street. I won't come back. Not because it was bad but because it's boring. They did have a sign that said 'Beer Pong Thursdays', a wall of pictures featuring their regulars and random people puking and the bartender was polite.

Great Food. It doesn't even qualify as bar food, honestly. The beer prices have gone up since the last reviewer below me, but they are in line with the rest of the bars and taverns in the immediate area. 5 domestics, 5 micro's on tap, several kinds of bottles in the fridge. The sweet old lady who owns the place still works there every day during the day shift when the old folks hang out and drink their 'animal' beer. Friday nights and Saturday nights are the busiest, but either come with the dinner crowd, or come after 10 if you want to be around other patrons besides me sitting at the end of the bar.

It's a dive bar. Nothing special and that's fine. I like it. Service is friendly and the vibe is low key.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

Things are a little crazy during the COVID phased reopening program, but we didn't let that stop us. There are booths set up at the entries to the building, where they are taking everyone's temperature and assuring you have a mask. If you do not have one they will provide one. Since attendance is currently low, we were able to get a seat immediately. We tried the Tandoori Chicken Skewers and were pretty happy with it. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food came out promptly. The decor is modern, interesting and fun. Everything has that "new casino" vibe to it. Super friendly service and social distancing guidelines being adhered to. I ordered 6 wings, 2 flavors (garlic and honey bbq) honey bbq was really delicious. Garlic wasn't as flavored but still nice. We ordered the beer battered mushrooms which were made really well, batter was crispy and not soggy. Bourbon chicken sliders, slight spice, great crunch, nice flavor. Overall, the casino generally is an awesome place to go right now and this sports bar is great.

We arrived around 9pm-ish on a Saturday where they had live music playing at the bar. We asked to be seated away from the bar as we wanted to have conversations and felt the music was too loud to do that and our hostess was more than happy to accommodate that. Our server Wizz was absolutely the highlight of our visit as he ensured everything we ordered was brought out, checked in us at appropriate times and had a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, they were out of the pink crowns which seems like it is a popular choice as our server shared they only had the yellow and blue one. My brother got the sausage pasta, my boyfriend got their beef fried rice, my mom and I shared the Just the Basics seafood boil, and we got onion rings to share. I know last time I did the birthday package, I was only allowed to use from the alcohol options of a margherita or a Blue Hawaiian but I prefer fruity drinks and the Blue Hawaiian is a slushie drink. Luckily it seems you can choose a Roy Roger or Shirley Temple (used to be for kids' birthdays) and I went with the Shirley Temple. It was okay, I feel like it was more Sprite tasting and not much of the grenadine. The food arrived and everything tasted great. We were really impressed with the seafood boil and everyone got to try it out even though it is suited for one person. The yum yum sauce that comes with the fried rice is heavenly and my boyfriend who doesn't use too much sauce doused his fried rice with it but it was absolutely the best. My brother enjoyed his sausage pasta as well. We got our ice cream which was refreshing after all the food we devoured. They even brought out the magic candle which they say is reserved for parties of 6 and more but it just shows that Wizz wanted to make my birthday memorable. Two employees came over with Wizz to sing me happy birthday which felt genuine and not forced like at other restaurants. We got our photo which also came in this cute green frame to take home, that's a huge set up as I was just given the photo when I last celebrated my birthday. Definitely looking forward to come back to use the $10 gift certificate and for an amazing time.

This restaurant has been one of my favorite places for the past two years. I've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here, and I've recommended it to countless friends and family because the food and service have always been excellent. Unfortunately, my visit today was very different. My friend and I came in for lunch, and our server, Amanda, was noticeably inattentive despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She took our drink menu before we had finished looking at it, and my friend had to get up and find her to ask for it back. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get her attention. When our food arrived, I asked for the lemon I ordered because they forgot it which is not a big deal to me they usually forget my lemon when I visit. She quickly dropped it off and walked away before I could order drinks. We then had to ask a second time just to place our drink order. The bigger issue was the food. Both seafood boils were lacking flavor, and mine seemed unusually watery, as though excess water hadn't been drained before the seasoning and butter were added. Since two seafood boils cost well over $100, I politely asked if there was any way to add more seasoning. I was respectful and apologetic because I genuinely dislike complaining about food. Amanda interrupted me before I could finish explaining and told me they couldn't add seasoning, only provide a side of seasoned butter. That would have been fine, I simply wanted a solution, but being cut off and met with an eye roll felt extremely rude and unprofessional. She then suggested the watery consistency was caused by the extra corn I ordered. I order extra corn every time I visit and have never experienced this issue before. After that interaction, she largely avoided our table. When she eventually boxed our leftovers, she immediately dropped off the check and walked away again. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I had been charged for the side of seasoned butter that was provided as the solution to the flavor issue. When I asked about it, Amanda explained that I was charged because I had ordered an extra side of seasoned butter. However, I hadn't ordered it as an addition to my meal, it was offered as the fix for food that she herself acknowledged was watered down. When I expressed that I felt it was inappropriate to charge a customer for the remedy to a quality issue, she responded that she could ask a manager to remove the charge if I wanted. By that point, I was very frustrated that this was even a charge in the first place and offered to just pay and leave. She quickly walked away and just removed the charge without consulting the manager like she previously mentioned which I found to be odd. This is the first negative experience I've had here, which makes it especially disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant and have recommended it to many people over the years. Sadly, after today's food and service experience, I'll likely be looking elsewhere for future celebrations and gatherings with friends and family. I've included some photos of the many visits my friends and family have had here over the years for lunch, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, etc. Please work on your customer service.

She made sure our table had plenty of water and always made sure our sips never went dry. My issue was the food. So to keep me safe I always order a side salad, but I needed a little protein so I also ordered some grilled chicken on the side with ranch dressing. Most of the way through my salad the started to turn in my stomach. Once the spicy chicken came out, I requested to send it back, due to the menu not specifying that the spicy chicken is only grilled chicken with Sriracha sauce poured it all over it. The menu specifies grilled with spices. Not true unfortunately. I decided to eat the grilled chicken that was plain and again my stomach started to turn. I honestly couldn't figure out if it was the chicken, the salad or the ranch dressing that was not sitting right in my stomach and boy! Let me tell you later on that evening. I ended up in the middle of the night not in the best situation. I unfortunately had food poisoning of some sort. I still think this is a great establishment to go and hang out to hear musicians, artist, and entertainers play and they have a great selection of drinks. I am taking a drawback on ordering food.
