I really hate to write a negative review about one of my favorite restaurants, but this experience was so disappointing. This restaurant has been one of my favorite places for the past two years. I've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here, and I've recommended it to countless friends and family because the food and service have always been excellent. Unfortunately, my visit today was very different. My friend and I came in for lunch, and our server, Amanda, was noticeably inattentive despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She took our drink menu before we had finished looking at it, and my friend had to get up and find her to ask for it back. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get her attention. When our food arrived, I asked for the lemon I ordered because they forgot it which is not a big deal to me they usually forget my lemon when I visit. She quickly dropped it off and walked away before I could order drinks. We then had to ask a second time just to place our drink order. The bigger issue was the food. Both seafood boils were lacking flavor, and mine seemed unusually watery, as though excess water hadn't been drained before the seasoning and butter were added. Since two seafood boils cost well over $100, I politely asked if there was any way to add more seasoning. I was respectful and apologetic because I genuinely dislike complaining about food. Amanda interrupted me before I could finish explaining and told me they couldn't add seasoning, only provide a side of seasoned butter. That would have been fine, I simply wanted a solution, but being cut off and met with an eye roll felt extremely rude and unprofessional. She then suggested the watery consistency was caused by the extra corn I ordered. I order extra corn every time I visit and have never experienced this issue before. After that interaction, she largely avoided our table. When she eventually boxed our leftovers, she immediately dropped off the check and walked away again. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I had been charged for the side of seasoned butter that was provided as the solution to the flavor issue. When I asked about it, Amanda explained that I was charged because I had ordered an extra side of seasoned butter. However, I hadn't ordered it as an addition to my meal, it was offered as the fix for food that she herself acknowledged was watered down. When I expressed that I felt it was inappropriate to charge a customer for the remedy to a quality issue, she responded that she could ask a manager to remove the charge if I wanted. By that point, I was very frustrated that this was even a charge in the first place and offered to just pay and leave. She quickly walked away and just removed the charge without consulting the manager like she previously mentioned which I found to be odd. This is the first negative experience I've had here, which makes it especially disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant and have recommended it to many people over the years. Sadly, after today's food and service experience, I'll likely be looking elsewhere for future celebrations and gatherings with friends and family. Customer service. when trying to be informed about the bar and ordering drinks one of the supervisors named Alissia was very rude in questioning why we would want a table as we had a kid with us. Instead of of taking the time to explain their policy they start questioning us about ordering 1 drink and driving.. which is very much not her business and having her assume, I would put MY child in danger ON Father's Day makes me regret spending my money which was well over 250$ and having our after noon ruined as people around are quick to judge over hearing that comment. Visited on a busy Valentine's Day and it was packed! I came around 7 pm and did not get seated until about 9 pm. My biggest criticism from that night is their waitlist system. The only way you can find out if your table is ready is by waiting in the crowded lobby or going back and forth to check-in. I hope they consider some of the newer waitlist systems to make it a little easier to see where your place in line is. The interior had a a cool nautical theme. The size of the interior was very impressive too. It's one of the biggest seafood boil place I've been to in the PNW. They have cool additional features like a waterfall installation and toy crane machine. Once we were seated, they gave us the first available which was the bar. The service was still friendly despite how busy and slammed they were. The server gave us his recommendations. I ordered our seafood mix in house Cajun mix. It was less saucy than what I prefer but ordering more sauce is an option. The seafood was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. My husband and I first came here 3 years ago while they were remodeling. This is our first time returning since then and it is such a different experience and environment. It's beautiful. My toddler had fun watching the lobster, walking around and was distracted while we waited for our table to be ready. The food is still absolutely delicious! The food is average. The portions are adequate. The price is a bit on the high side, but because it's seafood it's understandable. And even though it's a bit pricey, it's not over the top. The service is top notch. I've enjoyed the customer service that I've received the two times I visited. Both times were car side delivery. I have not eaten in the restaurant yet. I've had the catfish, cod fish, shrimp. dungeness crab, sausage, potatoes and corn. The cod fish was not that great. The catfish was okay, but not super delicious by any means. I like the cajun butter with a little kick to it. It's pretty delicious because it has a lot of seasoning in it that you can just dip the crab and grab the seasoning! The first time I ordered, it was a takeout with a curbside delivery. I had asked for headless shrimp. When I got home, the shrimp had the heads on them and the shrimp touched all the other food items in the bag. Absolutely gross! I've been craving a seafood boil, started looking on Yelp for a local-ish place with good reviews and came across The Captain Crab. We walked into the restaurant and noticed all the nautical, pirate themed decor. They even have an indoor water fountain as well as a live crab and lobster tank (to order from). We were guided to our table by a hostess while others were by robotic machine. While we dined we also noticed that it would also bring food to some of the tables, whereas other tables received their food from the waitress. I ordered Combo A ($48.99) with tail off shrimp (+$1.00), 2 hard boiled eggs (+$2.99) and medium Cajun butter on the side (+$4.99). My sister ordered combo B ($49.99) with some add ons as well. We also ordered crab Rangoon's, they were fresh but I've had better. I didn't realize that ordering butter on the side was an up charge so right off the bat we were charged $10 just for a side of Cajun butter... I've been to plenty of seafood boil restaurants from the Midwest to west coast and never been charged for a side of butter. Overall the food was really good, fresh and the Cajun butter was great. Prices were reasonable as well for the amount of food. The service was okay, our server changed halfway through dining there and it was hard to track someone down when we needed something. read more

BEWARE ORDER PICK UP! We spoke to someone over the phone and made an order for pick up and she got the order completely wrong, despite repeating the order multiple times. When we picked up the food and drove the almost 30 mins back home, we realized they gave us a skimpy order of teriyaki, some fried rice and they forgot our other order of fried rice. When I called the restaurant, the girl I spoke with was really nice when I explained everything to her but basically told me that her manager said that they couldn't do anything about it because it was a "miscommunication between the server and myself". How??? When I was very clear on the 3 items I ordered??? Just terrible customer service. I understand if they can't refund my order but there's NOTHING you can do to rectify this? We love seafood boils and are always on the lookout for a good one; this one is pretty darn close to perfect! The restaurant itself is quite large and decorated with a seafood/pirate theme which is fine. They have a live lobster tank and a fountain; both of which are roped off, which I get; people can not be trusted The waiting area is large and they have benches situated around it and some inside the restaurant. While we were waiting we saw a lot of take out orders so that's always a good sign. The bathroom was clean and there were several stalls. They have sinks outside the bathrooms for washing up after your dinner, which is soooo much better than giving out those little wipes. We've eaten here 3 times now and have always found the food to be fresh and plentiful for the prices. The service is good and they have those automated service drones which are fun to watch. We mostly drink water or pop but our son got one of their special drinks and said it was just okay. The only things I can think of that are negative are: the parking lot is small and we've had trouble finding a spot every time we've gone. Also, when you arrive you give your name to the hostess and they write it down on a piece of paper and then they call your name......which can be really hard to hear when it's crowded and/or your hearing is not the best Oh and their music is kinda loud, again not the best for some of us. I don't typically leave reviews, but I think I have to make an exception. I feel bad for Captain Crab because I've been catching and eating my own seafood for years. The quality is definitely not very high. It is painfully obvious it is all frozen and unfortunately it appears to have been frozen for a very long time. Knuckle meat on the crab is inedible, mussels are chewy, shrimp is chewy and dirty, there is sand in the seafood that should have been rinsed before cooking and unfortunately it all has a very bland taste even with the butter (which is definitely thinned out). I know in today's market that seafood is expensive but I guess I was just expecting a little bit more. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends that catch and cook their own seafood like I do, but for the average person that only buys their seafood frozen from Walmart, go for it. Went back here one last time before my wife and I move and although the food was great, it wasn't as good as it typically is. It seemed like our boil could have used some more seasoning and the shellfish was overcooked. We do love Captain Crab but there is just occasionally a consistency issue. Didn't like being shown to my table by a robot, call me old fashioned but it seemed rude. The decor reminds me of a 90s beach themed bar but it's cute in its own way. The server was nice, but was flirting with the bartender for quite a while before she brought us our beers. The garlic bread was the Texas toast garlic bread that you find in the freezer sections of the grocery store. The corn was probably frozen because it was super over cooked and mushy. We got a ton of crab and it all had a lot of meat. Very messy meal so it was nice to have a bib and gloves. Not really sure how fresh all the food was but it wasn't too bad. Honestly I hate to leave a bad review but I gotta be real. The shrimp did not taste fresh at all, something was definitely off. I ate shrimp my whole life, it's literally my favorite food. The crazy part is the flavor itself would've been really good if the shrimp wasn't bad, which makes me feel like the food might not be handled or stored properly. Me, my husband, and my pregnant friend all ate there the same day and we all ended up having stomach issues after. That's not normal. We went to try another restaurant in the same parking lot but the wait was forever so we walk d over to The Captain Crab. Walking in it was noticeably quiet and not busy. We got seated and ordered drinks. The inside is casual and them decorated. Kinda Meh. It's got a nice selection of seafood dishes and some non-seafood. We ordered a couple things to share and the wait was short. Service was a solid 3, but the food was where it went dow. Poorly seasoned and the potatoes and corn tasted like they were an afterthought in the dish. Maybe an off night in the kitchen but not impressive for a first time visit. I love it here! My first time ever having a seafood boil was here and I've had it one more time since then! I'm a huge seafood lover and I love that there are no spice options for people like me who are sensitive to spice! We ordered the clam chowder which was very hot bur tasty with good chunks of clamd and potatoes. The fish and chips were absolutely the worst we have ever had. The breading was thin and unremarkable and the fish was gray anf rubbery. We left most if it on the plate uneaten after one bite. Certainly not fresh cod. The fries were the highlight of the dish and were crispy and very tasty. We also got the grilled scallops which were cooked well but we're smothered in way too much garlic for our taste. The microbrew beer I ordered was on the warm side and a bit skunky for a Hefewiezen. Service was very slow both before meals were served and waiting for the check. Every time we go we always destroy our food! Never lets us down! Downside was our experience was subpar this time unfortunately. We always go as a party of 2-3 but they have an added gratuity of 18% of party's of 6 or more which is fine. I know they do it to make it easier for guests. At least make it worth it. We got sat and waited for about 10-15 minutes before our waitress came over and got our drink orders. Once all the drinks (no alcohol just soda and water) came she forgot half of the straws (party of 10 plus 3 kids.) not a big deal ordering food was easy after that. Everything was going well until the checks came out. Double charges, wrong things billed. Which sucks because we love to eat there. Then we waited 20 minutes to pay we all thought about just leaving because we had kids and they were growing fussy. I was so close to just asking the manager to come out and do something.
