I am a fan of the Hard Rock Cafes. They have so much memorabilia. I collect the guitar magnets, they have changed through the years from a Gibson ES-335 style with the name of the cafe on the fretboard to an acoustic design. The acoustic design is lame, Hard Rock go back to the ES-335 design. They have live bands play in from of the Hard Rock, they do ROCK Duval Street. The food is just like the other Hard Rock Cafes, and you have a second floor here. Yea, Great to keep an eye on the street. I had a lovely meal in the historic building that is Hard Rock Key West. It must be one of their nicest buildings. Our server was very friendly and able to provide recommendations. I had the mac & cheese with chicken and my husband had the local legendary burger. Both meals were delicious. Our server suggested I add broccoli for more veg and I am glad I did. I have had some disappointing meals at other HRC's recently and this experience restored my faith in the brand! Although, we did visit the bar on a different evening during our vacation and found the barman to be quite miserable! Made a reservation for 7:30 around 6:30pm. We arrived at 7:15pm asking if it was possible to be seated earlier. It was obvious things were slow as 1/3 to 1/2 the tables outside were busy. The guy told us that we needed to wait until 7:30pm. I inquired the logic behind the wait as it was slow and no wait list. I was told I just made the reservation a few minutes ago (false) and I should wait till 20 minutes (to 7:35pm..) as they were busy. I walked down the street to have a private family conversation on if we should eat there or cancel our reservation. The hostess did a bad job walking back and forth following us trying to listen in. Yes. Their employees eavesdrop to see how you react to their BS. I'm not blind, just calling things as I "see" them. I personally love Hard Rock Cafe. I was amazed at both the food quality and service from the waiter when I came to this restaurant. The waiter was very polite and attentive. I ordered wings as an appetizer and a bbq bacon cheeseburger as an entree. Both dishes were really good. The food came out really hot (temperature-wise, not spicy) which was amazing and not as common as it should be. The waiter was also really quick to make sure that we had everything we needed. We still don't know why we stayed and ate. I guess the enticing photos on the menu drew us in. But as we sat and looked at the menu and the ridiculous calories we knew we should of left but we stayed and ordered our meals. The waiter wasn't pleased that we didn't order drinks and when we asked for oil and vinegar for our salads he said they didn't have any and that he'd have to go across the street to another restaurant to get some. This had to be the most disappointing meal we've had in key west. The pulled pork sandwich didn't have enough barbecue sauce on it if any, the french fries were cold, and the coleslaw not so much... oh and bun cold...Let's just say that this place was not busy I can't imagine what the food tastes like when you're swamped. We hung out in the bar area which wasn't too crowded considering the amount of people outside. The drinks are ok and a little pricey for the area. Great great experience! Not only is the food outstanding, this is probably the best Hard Rock Cafe location I've been to, and I've been to many around the world. My mother has severe food allergies which makes eating at most places somewhat problematic, but not here! The head manager Kelly made sure to personally come out, identify what exactly my mom could or could not eat, and personally took her custom order to ensure her safety. VERY IMPRESSED on how well run this location is and how friend all the staff is, we feel like family at this point! Scott is a BEAST at the bar. The guy literally was creating our drinks as we were ordering them. We were so thrown off by how quick he was we momentarily forgot what we wanted. We kept on joking around that he can read our minds since it seemed like he would grab items before we asked for them. Best part was when the waiter came by and told us they didn't have Nachos... It was our first time in the Keys and Hard Rock was a familiar name so we stopped in for dinner. Our service and wait time was mediocre. Not only was our service slow, they close down the top portion of the restaurant so we couldn't take in the scenery from where we wanted to sit. My daughter order the salmon and it wasn't cooked thoroughly and All three of the burgers ordered at my table were over done, and chard because our waitress didn't bother to ask how we wanted them cooked.
