Food and service were very good. First time here and will likely come back for some homemade Italian! Ambiance is great, as you have a wonderful view of the ocean while you eat. Perfect for date night. If you haven't been here, give them a try

Hogfish was great! Shrimp on top with mushroom sauce was nice surprise. Great ocean view. Chris O was very attentive.

This is the best place we been to since arriving in Key West. The place is very nice and well done inside. Patio porch area to view the Oceanside is amazing. Our Waiter and staff were very professional and nice to all of us. Thank you to Christopher for being Amazing! We ordered multiple cocktails that night and they did not disappoint. They were all delicious and gave you a good buzz! Appetizers were very tasty the Mushrooms and Bruschetta both excellent! A couple of us ordered the Lasagna which was cooked perfectly! The ratio of cheese, meat and sauce OMFG I can't believe it was perfect finally a restaurant got it correct. The other 2 had different dishes which looked amazing and they were in love with each of their meals. SPAGHETTI alla BOLOGNESE presented very nicely and POLLO alla PARMIGIANA. We finished with multiple desserts. We were a bit buzzed from the drinks but I tell you that they were all good. CANNOLI RIPIENI was delicious, TIRAMISU (not my favorite dessert) but my friend said it was definitely worth every bite. A couple of us had MOUSSE du CHOCOLATE which was definitely amazing. I tell you this is the spot for a great Italian dinner with friends if you go to Key West.

I was in Key West for a long weekend to participate in a duathlon and La Trattoria was hands down my favorite restaurant we dined at on this trip. I easily made a dinner reservation on OpenTable and we were seated immediately when we arrived. The place was dim and decorated nicely for the holidays. It was already dark when we got there but I'm sure the sunset over the beach is a gorgeous sight to see. My bf and I first ordered the mussels which went wonderfully with the bread that was served to each table. For my entree I opted for a simple Spaghetti Bolognese and my bf got the scallops on angel hair pasta. Scrumptious and hearty, all of it! It made for some good leftovers too. Didn't have room for dessert but my bf and I did share a nice cognac to top off our meal. The staff was very nice, attentive and efficient. There are so many more dishes I want to try and will stop by on our next trip to the Keys.

My entrée and dessert were both delicious and beautifully presented. The chicken practically fell off the bone and was incredibly flavorful, while the desserts were simply outstanding. During our meal, Louie came out to check on everyone and told us we should call him "Big Louie." He even promised that if we ever shouted his name while in trouble around town, he would come bail us out, just once. As fate would have it, my girlfriend and I were later surrounded by seven seashell-wielding gangsters, two suspicious pelicans, and a man dressed entirely in inflatable flamingos. The gangsters demanded our wallets, our leftovers, and proof that we had properly enjoyed the ocean view. Just as I prepared to defend our honor, I shouted, "BIG LOUI!" into the night. A foghorn blasted, a nearby conch shell began playing the opening notes of "Eye of the Tiger," and a black 1969 Chevy Camaro came roaring around the corner. It had flame decals, orange dice in the mirror, and what appeared to be a tiny disco ball hanging from the antenna. Big Louie stepped out wearing a sequined tuxedo and carrying two limited-edition baseball bats signed by Babe Ruth, Elvis Presley, and possibly one of the pelicans. He tossed me one, struck a heroic pose, and together we performed a ten-minute, perfectly choreographed defensive dance routine that sent the gangsters fleeing into the mangroves. The pelicans applauded. The inflatable flamingo joined our party. Big Louie charged us exactly one rescue and then disappeared into the night as confetti fell from the sky. It was a wonderful experience.

I've made it countless times over the years, and every trip to Key West included a return visit because it was that memorable. Unfortunately, that era is clearly over!! The last few visits have been a huge disappointment.. What was once a beautifully presented, flavorful dish now looks like it was carelessly thrown together. The shrimp and grits that inspired me for years no longer resemble, or taste like, the original. I don't know if the restaurant has changed ownership multiple times or simply lost its way, but the quality has fallen dramatically. To make matters worse, our most recent dining experience was just as disappointing as the food. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet our party was told we had to leave because our reservation time was up. There was no one waiting for our table, and with so many empty tables throughout the restaurant, they easily could have accommodated us elsewhere. It felt unnecessarily rigid, cheap, and frankly arrogant. It's sad to see a place that was once a true Key West gem decline so dramatically. Between the disappointing food, lackluster presentation, and poor hospitality, it simply isn't worth the price anymore. Sadly, this restaurant has gone from being a "must-visit" on every trip to the Keys to a place I'll never return to. There are far better restaurants in Key West that deserve your time and money.

The food is excellent--flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying--but what truly sets this place apart is the service, especially when you're seated at the bar. As a bar guest, I experienced something far above exceptional. It felt like walking into a place I already loved and being shown the very best of it by people who genuinely care. To the bartenders and staff who made every visit feel that way: Dairy-ah (I'm almost certainly butchering the spelling, but the pronunciation stuck with me), thank you for the warmth, the skill, and the way you made the bar feel welcoming every time. Lucy--always with the hat on backwards--you became my spirit animal the moment I realized how perfectly that energy matched the whole vibe of the place. Thank you for being exactly who you are behind that bar. Brittney, the chillest of them all: your calm, easy presence made everything feel lighter and better. Chelsea, I only got to have you serve me once, but that one time was enough to know how good you are at this. And to the Servers, Paul and Lola: even in our brief interactions while I was at the bar, both of you brought such strong, genuine personalities that it elevated the whole experience. Thank you for that. Blue Heaven is an amazing restaurant with great food and even greater service. But more than that, it's the people who make it feel like coming home and being shown the best time in a place you love the most. Thank you--truly--to all of you for making it feel that way. And to Henry, a longtime regular at the bar, who passed away during my visit. "His" presence was clearly part of the fabric of this place, and I'm grateful I got to share that space, however briefly, with the people who knew and cared for him. Thank You All, and sorry if I didn't list your name in this review because there were far more of you than I've mentioned, just Know my early mornings sitting at the Blue Heavens Bar, was the highlight of everyday I spent in Key West. The restaurant is tucked away on a back street, far from the usual tourist spots, which adds to its charm. The food is authentic Cuban cuisine -- and I say that after decades of living in and around Hudson County, NJ, where the Cuban community is large and vibrant. At El Siboney, everything tastes fresh and homemade, with generous portions and prices that are refreshingly reasonable for Key West. This visit, I ordered the whole fried yellow snapper, served with yuca, yellow rice, and beans. My dinner companion had the Siboney skirt steak, one of the restaurant's popular dishes, served with a choice of sides. Both meals were excellent. Dessert was equally impressive: a delicious slice of tres leches cake and silky vanilla custard that were the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Dinner for two, including dessert and tip, came to about $100 -- a great value for the quality and quantity of food. El Siboney remains one of my favorite places to eat in Key West.

Great service at this restaurant. On my most recent visit, the views weren't quite as picturesque because there was a large amount of sargassum (seaweed) along the shoreline. A skid steer was actively pushing it into piles, and the smell was unfortunately pretty strong. That's obviously a natural condition and not really the restaurant's fault, but it did take away from the overall waterfront experience that day. Thankfully, the food was still excellent. The conch fritters are a must-order, and the fish tacos were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and was served quickly.
