Everything about this place was excellent! We went on Christmas Eve...busy but handled very well by all. The hostesses were very sweet and accommodating with our toddler as we waited for our son to arrive separately. In the meantime, the bartender suggested and made some custom drinks for our party that were delicious. Our dinner and server was outstanding for our party of 6. Our server was super helpful in recommendations for our non-seafood eaters and carefully accommodated a shellfish allergy. I ordered the 1/2# lobster tail with mushroom risotto to share with my hubs and it was fabulous...like Hell's Kitchen fabulous. All was spot on. Don't forget the dessert, very well presented and super tasty...yes, at "that" level again! Must not skip this place!

We were staying in a hotel directly across the street so we came in for cocktail hour before dinner. Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be fantastic. It ended up being just ok for us. The hostess told us there were no seats, but I saw a small table for two by the bar and she said oh right, you can sit there. Took forever for a server to come to our table. We ordered the filthy dirty martini and an espresso martini. My martini was average, wasn't extra dirty as advertised, and my son said his espresso martini tasted like pure alcohol. We ordered two appetizers, the naked wings, and the pork belly. The wings were ok but dry. The pork belly was very good. Based on the drinks and the appetizers, we left and went elsewhere for dinner. Not sure if I would visit again when I'm in town.

    - Had dinner here without a reservation and was able to get seated - They have a ton of seating available; booths, high tops, regular tables - I really enjoyed the tavern salad, which is a great size for the table, and the pork belly - Service was great

We were visiting Key West for a conference. We had a party of 8. Great service very knowledgeable on the menu. Our waiter had good recommendations. The food was amazing large portions, they were kind and split my salad for my husband & I. Cocktails - were cocktailing :)

Stayed at the hotel across the street so easy walk to this restaurant, I wasn't prepared for how nice or expensive it was but I'm glad because I enjoyed the experience a lot. I ended up getting a 40 dollar burger! Crazy right but I'll be honest it was really good. Service was amazing helped us get everything we needed. The lighting is nice, it was a very pleasant date.

    Lobster tail and risotto

Great presentation of the lobster tail & risotto. The house bread stuffed with caramelized onions is a must. Exceptional. Perfect atmosphere for celebrations. Hunter was great.

Had dinner on Mother's Day. Hubby had a smoked old fashioned and I had red wine. We ordered appetizers; naked chicken wings and blistered shishito peppers. Both were very tasty. We originally were going to just do tappas but they were not serving those that evening so hubby had the tavern burger and I had the margarita pizza. We enjoyed both entrees. With that being said this was a very expensive meal for what we had. I wish we had gone on a night they were serving the happy hour tappas with drinks and probably would have been happier. The food was good and we recommend.

Came here for happy hour with my boyfriend which is something they're notorious for! We ordered the oyster Rockefeller, the Asian sticky ribs and the spicy salmon bites. We sat at the bar and had great service. The drinks were good and the spicy salmon bites were probably my favorite. Next would be the Asian sticky ribs. The oyster Rockefeller was my least favorite. Overall not a bad happy hour, I would come back!

Beautiful restaurant. I showed up earlier than my reservation and sat at the bar and listened to the live music before I was seated. I loved the live music. The naked chicken wings were perfection. I had the scallops and my partner had the Wagyu filet mignon with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach was perfection. The only aspect I did not like were the desserts. I had the hazelnut panna cotta and the chocolate cake and both were were bitter and off tasting. I wish there was like a nice chocolate chip cookie or milk chocolate dessert. 5 stars though. Also, our waiter Ben was fantastic. And so was the tall, young runner. He helped take pictures of our party with a smile. Everyone was so attentive. I loved the open kitchen concept. One of the best eats I've had in key west so far. Thank you!

We recently stayed at the Beachside Resort, and Tavern N Town was one of the limited options in the area. While the restaurant is on the pricier side, it does offer a unique vibe--very dark and noticeably cold indoors, which some guests might really enjoy, though it wasn't quite our style. I do wish there were more breakfast choices and more budget-friendly options overall. That said, the service was friendly, and we enjoyed the soup and wine.

Our first time eating here and that was because it was close to our hotel. The food and the ice cream was really good, but a bit pricey. We'll have come back at happy hour next time. The service was fast and friendly, but it was a bit noisy in there. They have an extensive wine list and an adequate selection of local beers. I'm sure we'll be back, to try other items on the menu, but probably at happy hour.

My entrée and dessert were both delicious and beautifully presented. The chicken practically fell off the bone and was incredibly flavorful, while the desserts were simply outstanding. During our meal, Louie came out to check on everyone and told us we should call him "Big Louie." He even promised that if we ever shouted his name while in trouble around town, he would come bail us out, just once. As fate would have it, my girlfriend and I were later surrounded by seven seashell-wielding gangsters, two suspicious pelicans, and a man dressed entirely in inflatable flamingos. The gangsters demanded our wallets, our leftovers, and proof that we had properly enjoyed the ocean view. Just as I prepared to defend our honor, I shouted, "BIG LOUI!" into the night. A foghorn blasted, a nearby conch shell began playing the opening notes of "Eye of the Tiger," and a black 1969 Chevy Camaro came roaring around the corner. It had flame decals, orange dice in the mirror, and what appeared to be a tiny disco ball hanging from the antenna. Big Louie stepped out wearing a sequined tuxedo and carrying two limited-edition baseball bats signed by Babe Ruth, Elvis Presley, and possibly one of the pelicans. He tossed me one, struck a heroic pose, and together we performed a ten-minute, perfectly choreographed defensive dance routine that sent the gangsters fleeing into the mangroves. The pelicans applauded. The inflatable flamingo joined our party. Big Louie charged us exactly one rescue and then disappeared into the night as confetti fell from the sky. It was a wonderful experience.

I've made it countless times over the years, and every trip to Key West included a return visit because it was that memorable. Unfortunately, that era is clearly over!! The last few visits have been a huge disappointment.. What was once a beautifully presented, flavorful dish now looks like it was carelessly thrown together. The shrimp and grits that inspired me for years no longer resemble, or taste like, the original. I don't know if the restaurant has changed ownership multiple times or simply lost its way, but the quality has fallen dramatically. To make matters worse, our most recent dining experience was just as disappointing as the food. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet our party was told we had to leave because our reservation time was up. There was no one waiting for our table, and with so many empty tables throughout the restaurant, they easily could have accommodated us elsewhere. It felt unnecessarily rigid, cheap, and frankly arrogant. It's sad to see a place that was once a true Key West gem decline so dramatically. Between the disappointing food, lackluster presentation, and poor hospitality, it simply isn't worth the price anymore. Sadly, this restaurant has gone from being a "must-visit" on every trip to the Keys to a place I'll never return to. There are far better restaurants in Key West that deserve your time and money.

Great people watching, a relaxed atmosphere, and exactly the kind of setting we were hoping for in Key West. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. The martinis were excellent, and every dish we ordered was a hit. We started with the ahi tuna, which was fresh, light, and the perfect way to start the meal. For dinner I had the fish special over risotto, and my husband had the homemade bolognese. Both were fantastic. It's hard to say which was better because we kept trading bites back and forth. To finish the evening, they surprised me with a pineapple upside down cake for my birthday, complete with a sparkler. It was a fun ending to an already memorable meal. Between the porch seating, the service, the cocktails, and the food, this was one of those dinners that just gets everything right. We'd happily return the next time we're in Key West.
