Ever since moving out to Reno 2 years ago I recently found RCK. Im gonna put it this way, i may not have found the woman of my dreams but i did find the muay thai gym of my dreams haha. Moving out to Reno i didnt think id find a MT gym that reminded me of the MT gyms back home in Cali but RCK really does bring in that family-team environment. First of all, a huge thank you goes out to these guys for making October a free month for women to learn self defense. With everything in the news of attacks, these guys opened their doors without any hidden contracts or even Information! Also, their coaching and willingness to teach is incredible! After attending a few classes, and being nervous to start, the coaches truly spent quality one on one teaching me all the aspects of different moves and techniques. They wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing and how to defend myself. The music is great and really helps your workout and man is it a workout! Kickboxing kicked my butt! However I found a new found love for the sport and will continue to learn at this gym. They have gear for you to use during class and even a ring to do the more complex moves on a safe place. I was a bit apprehensive when I decided to go to a kickboxing gym. The gym experiences I had is the past were nothing but bad. Filled with egotistical roided out jocks. There is no problem like that whatsoever at Reno City Kickboxing. I am pleased with the amount I am learning during each session that I attend. I can actually feel myself getting better at this and more comfortable with Muay Thai. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to teach. Every experience I have had here so far has been productive and positive. The place is clean and well organized. They have the music on lockdown, always playing something that gets you moving. Stopped in when I was in town visiting the folks for the holidays because I aim to attend Muay Thai class at least three times a week and no way was I going to let my extended vacation set me back. Nice set up, smaller than what I'm used to and a bit more laid back, but seems like a legit place to train. The classes I stopped in for were geared a bit more toward Dutch kickboxing style drills than the pad work I'm used to, but still good skills to build. Owner of the gym is super friendly and welcoming and the members were great to train with. No complaints here, would definitely be on my lists of places to frequent if I lived in the area. read more

I really enjoy heading into the Women's Class every Saturday morning at 9 am. Bring a friend as there are lots of pair exercises. It's such a great way to start your weekend! Coach Brennan is super helpful especially for a kickboxing novice such as myself! I always feel challenged and pushed during class and it's a great outlet. There is always great music and a great pace to the class. Plenty of gloves if you don't have your own. Be ready for strength training like push ups and squats as well. Make sure to bring cash for the super affordable $5 drop in fee. I would recommend Reno City Kickboxing for any women looking to have a great workout! Don't forget to bring a friend! read more

From the second I walked into RCK I was immediately welcomed by the people that train there as well as Brennen, the coach and owner. All the classes are super informative and everyone there is willing to help anyone no matter their skill level. If you're looking to learn some stand up, self defense, or just want a good work out, this is the place to be. Brennen knows his stuff and goes out of his way to help anyone. He genuinely wants to help others get better. You will not find a better private lesson either. Brennen records your lesson, edits it, and sends it back to you with notes. After witnessing the pettiness and immaturity of this company in reference to their local competition. Also after reading and witnessing local moms being mobbed by quite a few of them on social media. They made it pretty clear that us Mom types in our mommy groups aren't welcome here neither are our referrals. After Zach showed fully that he definitely has anger issues he can't control on social media and offering to come have our asses kicked at this establishment. There is not a chance in hell I would refer anyone to this gym. Especially people who are looking for self defense classes. This is clearly a cult like environment and they are truly judgmental if you're not apart of it or "dope" enough. Definitely might work for some people but I would not consider this a community business what so ever. It's a shame how low owners of local businesses while stoop when they are the face of their company regardless of the situation. I would not want my children to be taught by, be around, or look up to these people. I don't care how "pro" you think you are as an athlete. Nothing gives you the right to be so disrespectful to other businesses or to potential customers. If you want to have petty drama in your personal life, so be it, but when you choose to be the face of a local business you should hold yourself to a higher standard and CARE how others might perceive you. You can easily see that he reacts aggressively to everything which shows that his overly cocky outtake on who he is (considering he tells everyone any chance he gets) must be hiding how insecure he really feels. It's a shame that people don't grow up soon enough or feel that acting out will give them the potential 10 seconds of fame they are begging for.
