Cute little place right off the hwy, so convenient access. There menu is not that big and what they offer is a little unique rather then your average menus. The staff is friendly and offer play pad for children while waiting. Our waitress didn't put our order in right away but realized her mistake and offered a free piece of cake while waiting. read more

Five stars for the food, 4 stars for the service. My husband and I have had a few meals here. A year ago, we had our Thanksgiving here along with the big game on the big screen. It was amazing-Smoked Turkey and all the trimmings. Absolutely incredible!!! And on that day, service was excellent! Yesterday we went in for a nice steak dinner. We ordered a bottle of red wine, I ordered the Peppered Beef Tips and he ordered the BBQ Ribs. Both came with mashed potatoes and vegetables (squash). The food was incredible, but the waitress was slow and forgot to put our order in until we reminded her about 30 minutes later. I will say that she was the only server there and was very busy with many tables who all came in at the same time. If this place had a steady flow of customers, I'd say they need to hire more help, but given that it's a little unpredictable, I totally understand. So, props to this family owned restaurant for making incredibly tasty food in a great atmosphere and surviving in a tough small town. Keep up the great work!!! read more

Worst dining experience EVER. We ate at this restaurant in March 2017, coming home from Priest Lake and hoping to see the Gonzaga game while we ate. Service was slow, but food was good. We stopped today for dinner, arrived at 4:15pm, only 3 other tables with diners, drinks took over 30 minutes! Food was over an hour and not good at all. My salad had the wrong dressing (already mixed in, so can't correct without a whole new salad), Prime rib was very overcooked and smokey tasting, kids noodles (for a 3 and 5 year old) were the last to be delivered and we had to actually remind the waitress that we ordered them. My husband wasn't offered salad or soup with his entrée until he asked. Staff was very rude, and didn't offer to comp ANY of the meal. Do not waste your time or money at this restaurant!!!! read more

DON'T waste your time! You've got to be kidding me. Only 2 tables of 4 people and one table of 10. Two cooks on duty and a host. We were told it would be a45 minute wait. Came back 45 minutes later to be told it would be another 25 minutes. This time only the table of 10 (who were served already And 1 table of 2). Too bad you a dozen or more customers due to mismanagement. Ridiculous! read more

We just had breakfast at this place. The worst steak and eggs we've ever had, and by far the most expensive. The steak was tiny and over cooked. The bacon was burnt. We left hungry and poor. We will never return. read more

Swung in for a quick lunch with my wife and had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Ground chuck, garlic Aoli, mushrooms, hardwood grilled with caramelized onions and roasted peppers. It was perfectly cooked, and fries were excellent as well. Wife had shrimp avocado salad and declared the shrimp delicious, all ingredients very fresh. Great value, really good food and what looks like a good menu worth coming back to dinner for. read more

Just left after breakfast. Waited 1 hour 15 mins. after ordering to get our meals. The food was not cooked properly. Eggs raw, burned bacon, burned hamburger steak etc... Hamburger over cooked, fries stellar, steak Dianne over cooked with creamy mushrooms that were good. Basically they could get a whole lot more flavor from their food if they honored their ingredients more. Salad was a little wimpy. Mediocre food. We stopped here for dinner last month and were very pleasantly surprised by the great service and outstanding food. The ambiance was nice and for a very small town, we felt it was on par to many upscale Spokane restaurants. We will certainly return as it was such an enjoyable experience. read more

I have ate here 2 times . I had pulled pork sand which last time . It was rancid. I got very sick. The other time i got served soda that was flat looked liked ice tea. Burger was fair but dipping sauce was bad . Both i an my friend ate burgers an we both got sick. Won't be going back here. read more

Went for lunch today for the first time and it was wonderful and our server was a delight. I had the Steak and Swiss Cheese Beef Dip with fries and a wee bit of coleslaw. The steak was very tender and perfectly cooked. I thoroughly enjoyed the fries and I wish I had ordered a side of coleslaw because it was outstanding. Actually all of it was outstanding. My husband had a Classic Burger and being the expert on burgers he said it was terrific. I can't wait to revisit this great place and try another menu item. If you haven't been to the Hardwood Grill give yourself a treat and go. read more

Go here. Great place. Prompt and attentive service. Our waiter, Bill, made great suggestions for dinner and dessert. The ribs and salmon were fantastic. The carrot cake, made with honey--no sugar, was delicious. My wife and I enjoyed the aroma therapy from the wonderful wood smells emanating from the grill. I really enjoy restaurants where you have a view of the food being prepared in the kitchen. We were the last to leave and not rushed at all. read more

Driving to Elkins Resort to snowmobile and spend the night, we thought we'd stop for breakfast. We were told this restaurant hss been in business about 5 years and we saw some advertising so we stopped. I had a breakfast burrito with hash browns and my hubby had biscuits and gravy. My burrito had carmelized onions, peppers and a sauce. It was pretty good and the hash browns tasted homemade. It was a gourmet burrito, not a Mexican burrito....but I would have liked a good salsa. This came with something the chef may have made, but it was just some chopped tomato, a bit on the acidic side which tasted a few days old. My hubbys biscuit was a but doughy, not the light and fluffy type he had hoped for and expected from a nicer restaurant, but the gravy was good. They were setting up for Friday night prime rib and seafood buffet which sounded good, and they have some upcoming Winemaker's dinners scheduled which I would try. The ambiance was a modern bistro type look which we like , but the ceiling showed many water stained or deteriorated tiles, which were not quite up to par for a trendy feel. Although the ladies room was ok and appeared to be clean , the floors were sticky. All in all we had a decent breakfadt and will give them another shot in the future, specfically on the special events. read more

Stopped on a Sunday night with family for dinner.Service was slow appetizer should up couple minutes before main course.I ordered prime rib when i received it the meat was maybe 1/4" thick and way overcooke.I double checked with waitress to make sure it was prime rib she said yes told her it didn't look like prime rib.As we were getting ready to leave owner comes by and asks me a what was wrong with prime rib.I stated it was super thin and looked like a piece of steak not prime rib.We left restaurant and were in parking lot visiting owner comes out looks at me turns around heads back towards restaurant and gives me middle finger.Pretty classy for owner of a so called fancy restaurant.Will not ever eat there again or recommend it to anyone. read more

Two guys from Boston, riding motorcycles cross country, needed some breakfast. We stopped on a Sunday after logging a chilly 130 early morning miles. The reception we got from the proprietors was friendly and accommodating. The menu selection was "interesting" with traditional items and others with more of a flare. The food was prepared well, hot and with a home cooked flavor. Very well done! We highly recommend this place. It's more than just a breakfast place, the atmosphere lends itself to an upscale restaurant. I would love to try it for dinner if it were in my town, but we were only passing through. read more

Wish there was a zero rating I could choose. If I put forth such a minimal performance at work, I would be fired. Total wait time from sitting to eating was 1 hour 20 minutes. Perhaps the lack of a wait on Labor Day and total lack of locals should have tipped us off. Food did not live up to price, including the long black hair in the scrambled eggs, completely raw overeasy eggs, straight from a box pancakes (dense as bread), and burnt to a crisp bacon. Not one apology from waitress (this was obviously not her first dissatisfied customer rodeo) and only comped item was the fuzzy scrambleds. Please, please, if you want to have an enjoyable weekend, do not ruin it with a 2.5 hour detour to this hole. Also, spots in the ceiling looked about to cave through from water damage and no glove use with ready to eat foods. My post following this will be to the public health department. If this place is open the next time we drive through Priest River I will likely have a stroke. read more
