DO NOT utilize Hare Honda service dept. They do NOT honor appointments, as they constantly overbook their service dept. and then cannot keep up with demand. They will take 2 days for a diagnostic job, just to tell you what repairs are needed. Then another 2-3 days for them to actually complete the repairs. If they get backlogged, which happens EVERY week, they will attempt to reschedule your appt., even if you booked a WEEK prior. This is not a well managed Service shop. read more

Visiting Hare Honda for a simple oil change and tire rotation service as needed. Service Manager who assisted me Catalan Nelson was a very professional individual who greeted and took care of me during my service. As for the service tech who serviced my vehicle, complete joke of a tech. I was advised that my transmission plug "popped off" due to a clogged "transmission breather valve." All of this was true after further inspection by myself. I denied the service seeing as they wanted to charge me $130 to clean out the breather valve and replace the plug. A service that takes 5 minutes to do with minimal automotive knowledge. Didn't bother to check transmission fluid levels either! However, that's not the issue. Being an owner of a Honda and patronizing a Honda Service Shop you would figure they would at least replace the same plug that popped off of the transmission fluid fill hole. Nope! They just left it sitting there, didn't even bother to throw the plug back in. Something told me to check this before I even pulled out of the dealership parking lot. I walked back in to grab napkins to clean off the plug and replaced it when one of the other service managers asks what I need and after informing him what I was doing, all he said was "Oh." How unprofessional of a Honda Service Center and how careless of a technician to allow a vehicle to leave the shop like this. It costs nothing and takes less than a minute to replace the plug regardless if I denied the service to have the valve cleaned. This is just dirty, dishonest service practices. These people don't care about you or your vehicle, they just want to make a quick buck off of unknowing customers. 0/0 Stars. Take your business elsewhere. At the ripe hour of 7:30am, we arrived at Hare Honda, weary from our overnight driving. Once there, a fellow by the name of Austin took care of us. Despite having no appointment and having steep demands (our entire car was misfiring, no good!), Austin had our issue resolved within 4 hours. For the severity of the issue, this was no time at all. Hare Honda emailed me an oil change coupon and I was due for one so I decided to call and make an appointment for and oil change and multi point inspection. I arrived a few minutes early and pulled into the service center garage, parked my vehicle and entered the servicing area. There were about 4-5 service advisors present and there was one customer being attended to. I had to have stood there for almost 10 mins while they talked and joked with each other, walking by and completely ignoring me! I just got off from a long day at work, had to fight traffic in the rain and then rush here for this?! Yes my blood was boiling! Finally someone came and asked me if I'd been helped, I said no and I'd been standing here for awhile then she walked away and another advisor came right over and asked me if I'd been helped and I told him the lady just asked me the same question but I'd been standing here for awhile and someone should of at least acknowledged me and let me know they would help me shortly. His name was Brad and he was very nice, apologized and got my name and information and showed me to the waiting area. The waiting area is nice. Very big, spacious and clean with plenty of seating, a couple of TVs, restrooms and a break area with vending machines and a Starbucks coffee machine which makes coffee, lattes, and hot chocolate. My wait was not long and Brad walked me to his station and told me he talked to the supervisor and let him know about the bad service I had when I arrived and he told me the service today was free! I was so surprised and thankful. Brad turned a bad experience to a good one. That is what I call good customer service. So I originally was going to give this place 2 stars but with the service Brad and his supervisor gave me I changed it to 4 stars. read more

I have a mixed feeling about this place. This is the closest Honda dealer for me so I really wanted to like it but after visiting them twice... I'm not so sure. The good: I was able to have a loaner card on a Saturday while my car was looked at. Although I had an appointment that day, they did not get to my car, so it was helpful that I had a car to stay mobile through Monday. My advisor was very responsive to text messages which I appreciated. He would text me in all caps thought I don't know what that was ... When I took my car for an oil change, I was told it would take 1-1.5 hours. But it was done in a little less than an hour. Great surprise! The not-so-good: When I went there for an oil change my advisor was Gerald. He never smiled once during our interaction... when the work was done and I was at his desk to make a payment, I showed him the coupon I'd like to use. He clearly looked bothered, and told me I needed to show him that at the very beginning instead of at the end. Then he goes "now we have to do this all over again (typing something on computer ) " I apologized, wondering how much of a trouble / inconvenience it was for him. I just didn't feel welcomed during this visit. Very clean facility, social distancing, Starbucks coffee, water and Tv. Comfortable waiting space and convenient service. UPDATE: Honda didn't charge me for my oil change. I will not be going back to buy or have service done at this location. I'd rather. Drive to the north or south side then ever go back here. I brought my van in for an oil change. I had an appt at 11am and arrived at 10:50am. I was told at that time that it would be 1 1/2 hrs. After waiting for 1 hr and 40 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. The associate to me that just because I arrive at 11 doesn't mean that my car will get in at 11, that it could sit for an hr before it is taken in for service. I said that that is absolutely unacceptable especially with an appointment. He told me "you can always take it somewhere else". Things have not improved since the remodel was finished. I had an appointment at 7:45 am fornthe disinfectant spray and a noise to be checked. I texted the number they told me I could use if I had any questions at 9:30 and by 10:30, I still had no response. I finally walked out to the service individual and physically asked. We walked out to the shop and my car was JUST now coming back from a test drive at 10:45. 3 hours with an appointment before being test driven? This is ridiculous. Steve Wheat greeted me in the service isle saying "Welcome to Hare Honda", answered my questions as he wrote up my car. Only took about 45 min for oil change and tire rotation. Went back to Steve's and paid, he explained page by page what the tech found. Have an parasitic battery drain in my CRV. Took it in to the service department twice and was told to put a trickle charger on it to keep it from going dead if not drivin for 2 or 3 days. The first time they said it needed a Honda battery so I had them put one in. Didn't work. After 2 days dead battery. The second time they said it was my fault for not driving it enough. 33000 miles and can't let it sit for a weekend without a charger on it. No help whatsoever. Fail. read more

This dealership went above and beyond. I had an appointment and was on my way there. I stopped for gas and then my car wouldn't start. I didn't know what to do. So I called the dealership to let them know what was going on and that I was going to probably be late. The advisor I spoke with placed me on hold and spoke with someone. He came back on the line and provided me with his number. I called him and told him what had happened. He asked me where I was located. I was about 10 minutes away from the dealership. He (Gary) drove to where I was and jumped the battery to get my car started. He wanted to make sure I got to the dealership, he had me follow him. Hare Honda needs to rectify this issue! 09/05/23 WATCH OUT MAKE SURE TO TAKE A PIC OF YOUR DASHBOARD. scheduled an appt for this date to have oil change and battery tested. Of course other work identified, front axle bearing and intermediate axle and new battery work done. Paid earlier in the day on 09/06 because had to come back and pick car up after hours. Started the car up to leave and noticed all these warnings on my dash that weren't there when I dropped my car off, TCS AND ENGINE LIGHT ON ALONG WITH SOME TRIANGLE LIGHT. Then I heard a voice behind me say, you finally came to pick your car up. Now it was after 8, and I turn around at its Austin my service advisor. I then tell him about the lights being on and they weren't on when I dropped the car off. I asked him if he saw the lights off when he pulled my car around and of course he said yes. He stated, I thought they were already on. Oh no buddy they weren't on. He then told me me I'll have to talk to my mgr. I will take this issue as far as I have too, to get it resolved because I paid $1095 for work to get done only to have lights on my dash that weren't there initially. Sit back and grab some popcorn because I've got a GREAT story that is so ridiculous but true you'll never step foot inside this despicable place. Needed an oil change for the ole CR-V and found a coupon for $49.99 from Hare Honda. Even though it was a bit out of the way, decided to give it a try. It's just an oil change, what could go wrong with that. I'd like to also note that I put air in my tires two days prior to driving out there. I get there, pull in, everyone seemed nice enough. They take my car back, I proceed to the waiting area. Didn't take too long before I received a text message asking if I'd like any additional things, brake fluid flush, transmission flush, air filter replacement, the usual BS places try to get you to do. All of the prices seemed reasonable. $20 for this $50 for that. As I continue to scroll through this extensive list, I see a picture of what appeared to be my tire with a lug nut missing. Now, I'm not the brightest crayon in the box. But I know damn well that lug nuts don't cost TWO HUNDERD AND TEN DOLLARS! I know for a fact I can go to AutoZone and get five Lugnuts for 20 bucks, or go to pull a part and get 10 Lugnuts for five dollars. I actually have some automotive experience, which is more than most women could say. I know how to change alternators, change tires, change oil, replace head and tail lights, I know how to go to pull a part with my set of tools and pull airbags and controls off of steering wheels. Daddy didn't raise no fool, so needless to say I know that Lugnuts don't cost $210. And also there was no way that I didn't notice missing a lug nut when I had just put air in my tires two days prior. Makes me wonder how many people they have pulled this stunt with. I raised my concern to the guy who took my car in and he said well you wouldn't have noticed you missing a lug nut. I also asked him why he didn't take pictures of my vehicle as other Honda dealerships do before taking the car back, ya know, to prevent something like his from happening. I'm 99% certain they took off my lug nut, then proceeded to try to charge me an exorbitant amount to replace ONE. Once I told them they better put a flipping lug nut back on my car and there's no way that costs that much money, they did and didn't charge me for my oil change. If they had done nothing wrong, they would've just charged me for the oil change, right? They must've been mad at me, they over tightened my tire caps as well, needed a pair of vise grips and a wrench to check the damn tire pressure months later. Never EVER step foot in their store. This was my first experience at a Honda dealer since moving to Indy. I just wanted to have my car checked out before a road trip and the experience went pretty well. I scheduled online and it was easy to find a Saturday appointment time. In addition to the inspection, they fixed a recall related issue and both those things were free of charge. I was there about 2 hours, which was slightly longer than expected but not too bad. Word to the wise: They close at 3 in Saturdays, which is earlier than the rest of the week. This is pretty common but I didn't think to check the closing time before making my 12:40 appointment. They weren't able to rotate my tires and change my break pads/rotors before closing so they offered me a loaner car for the weekend. I needed my car this weekend so I declined the offer and planned to schedule another appointment to have everything worked on. If I'd made an earlier appointment, I'm sure they would've been able to do it all same-day! The waiting area was clean and comfortable with a fancy Starbucks coffee machine and free WiFi. Even the restrooms are clean. Over all, it was a good experience and I will be back! read more

This is a few days late so I apologize in advance. Last Friday the 23rd (after just having the Honda Odyssey in the shop at a Chicago Honda dealership the week previous for a major $2,000 repair involving the alternator, battery and an oil pressure seal) the battery light goes on about 5pm just north of Indianapolis. We were driving to Florida and I had my in-laws in their 80's, my wife and other family members. When the battery light went on one week previous, within 5 minutes the whole instrument panel lit up like a Christmas tree then the vehicle died. I looked up the closest Honda dealer possible, knowing that if I didn't get somewhere quick we would be stuck for the night and we needed to be in Florida on Saturday. Hare Honda pulled up as the closest. I drove as fast and safely as I could, praying all the way that we would make it without stalling and there would be someone to help. Thankfully the van made it there, and while waiting in service I spoke to Nelson and explained my situation. He immediately called over the service manager Ali who went to the back and found the one remaining mechanic in the service department as it was already 5:40pm. He had the vehicle taken to the back and from the service waiting room I was able to look through the glass windows into the pristine service bays and see the mechanic working on the vehicle. It only took about 10 minutes of time. It was a loose wire on the alternator. Unfortunately shoddy workmanship from the Chicago area Honda dealer. I asked Ali what I owed for taking care of us so quickly and he said nothing. Nelson, Ali, that mechanic ( wish I had his name) and Hare Honda saved the day. Even though we are 3 hours away, my wife and I are committed to make our next vehicle purchase from this dealership. I have officially met my quota of being disappointed by this Honda location. I have had Hondas since I was 16 and have always felt valued and had great experience at Honda service centers. 2 times I had dropped my car off for an oil change (first thing in the morning, with an appointment), taken the courtesy shuttle home, and had them tell me at the end of the day that they didn't have time to get to my car.. for an oil change.. on a car they had all day. I currently own a 2020 Pilot. The speakers/ center console screen are having issues I need to get diagnosed and fixed. I understand that car issues are inconvenient. But this facility is making it impossible to solve. I have 3 small children that all need car seats. They have daycare during the day, not to mention my husband and I both work. They need the car for a full 24hrs to just diagnose the problem.. not just a full working day.. they do not have a loaner vehicle, and apparently sometime between now and 6mo ago they changed the courtesy vehicle radius to 5mi from 10. the accord won't sit 3 car seats, and again, my husband and I both work so we need to transport our kids to and from daycare. If there's no courtesy vehicle or loaner option, and I'm not able to sit at Honda for 8-10 hrs to wait on the diagnosis.. how am I supposed to get the car diagnosed and figure out logistics on how to get it fixed? Leave a kid or two at daycare overnight? Or at home to fend for themselves? They are sorry for my frustrations though. read more

I scheduled an oil change a week inn advance. The scheduler gives you an option wait for car / drop car off. Based on my schedule, I selected wait. I ensure I arrive on time on my day off, I drive 20 minutes to Honda again on my day off. I arrive, pull in and begin the check in process when I explain my appointment and the service needed. They tell me it's a 4 hour wait! Huh??? That makes no sense. The excuse I get is they run a half crew on Saturdays and they can't control the scheduling system. What a complete joke. UPDATE - Today (8/5/19) I finally received a phone call from Josh at Hare Honda about my audio system code request from last Thursday--it took only about 5 minutes to get the code entered and the radio/CD/clock back on--so why did it take so long for anyone to call me back for a simple procedure? I've added one actual star to my previous "zero stars" review only because Josh was very apologetic about it taking so long for him to call me back, and seemed concerned that it had been over 3 weeks since I first contacted Hare with no responses. Since it's obvious from other reviews that their customer service needs major work, for starters I would suggest to Hare that when a member of their management team is out of the office for a long weekend, that they have their voice mail changed to direct the caller to someone who is there during that time, the way most companies require service personnel to do. ZERO stars from me--DO NOT waste your time trying to find customer service at Hare Honda! I've contacted them twice by phone in the past 2 weeks and each time I've been transferred and had to wade through their voice mail system, just to be able to leave a message. The first time my call went to the Service Manager's phone, the second was to the Service Director, but now it's been 3 weeks and no word from either of them! The only place actual service seems to exist there is through their live chat, and now I have my doubts about that--"Scarlett" was the only offer of help that I've had from Hare Honda, and she was so courteous, I suspect that she may be an A.I. program. Scarlett promised that someone would contact me as soon as possible, but it's been almost 3 days since then, with no response from anyone there by phone or email. As a former Customer Service Representative with other companies, I am appalled at their disregard for actual service! We took our car for an oil change in December 2018. They recommended getting the rear brake pads and resurfacing soon. Took car back in March to get rear brakes. They called to say it didn't need rear brakes. They said it was ready for a rear differential fluid change. We said go ahead and to rotate the tires also. When we picked the car up they did the rear differential fluid service and rotated the tires. They also flushed the rear brake fluid, resurfaced the rotors and replaced the brake pads. We were expecting to pay around $200 for differential fluid and rotate the tires. We ended up paying $500. The service department was sending text messages and called to tell us we didn't need brakes, but then went ahead and did work we didn't approve. I received a request from the service manager via text message asking how our experience went. I responded that we had a problem and needed to discuss with him. No response. I've called to talk with him (Josh) but got voicemail. Still no response. I'm doubting they did what they said they charged us for. No way as good as Terry Lee. Boo Update: Josh called and explained what he believed had happened. He offered to refund the amount that I had not approved. I told him that would not be necessary but he insisted. I received that credit on my credit card. I'm upgrading my review to 3 stars based on this interaction. I'll probably give Hare another chance to make us satisfied customers. read more

I have purchased 2 brand new cars from this dealer and family members have purchased 6+ cars. Is this how you treat your customers? We got there more than an hour before they closed and were asked to return later next week because they were just too busy to get me a new key. I have had issues with the service department from this dealership when it was Terry Lee Honda a few years ago. I thought since it was new ownership, I would give them another chance. Obviously they have laid off their staff or are extremely busy and don't have time to answer calls. Either way, not good customer service practices. I'd suggest hiring more help. read more
